This small hotel has a great pool scene and puts on a mean barbecue night. Plus it’s very near the beach.
This family-run place has a 2013 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor. It comes with a good-sized pool and a bar that does snacks during the day. And there are barbecue and quiz nights, too.
The nearest beach is less than 2 minutes away on foot, and you’ll find shops and bars just outside the front door. Plus, the centre of Kos Town is only a 20-minute stroll along the seafront.

Such a lovely hotel
me and my friend went to Kos and this hotel was one of the highlights. A little out of the way maybe a 15 min walk along the beach to the main night life, but was nice to be away from the busy bar scene. The hotel had a great pool and lovely cocktails :) The staff were brilliant and you felt like they were looking out for us always telling us to be sunscreen on and even offering free watermelon when it was super hot. The only down side was that we didn't have air con in the room and we had to pay. But other than they I fully recommenced it. We even signed up to their mailing list and we get a Christmas card every year!More

Well worth another visit!!
Have just booked our July 2015 visit and we are both really looking forward to it. Can't wait to see George, Barbara, Elias and Maria again. Looking forward to our sunbeds at Joanna Beach, Lambi and to seeing Simon and Nikos at the Blue Phoenix. A mention for Joseph at the Old River restaurant on Lambi beach, a nice friendly man and we will visit Billy's Bar (now Niko's Grill) in town.More

We stayed here with our then 15 yr old son and we were a little worried he would be bored!!! How wrong we were, all the staff and the owners were so helpful and couldn't do enough to make our holiday amazing, even when our son didn't want to venture out, they said to me and my husband, you go and enjoy your night out we will look after Jake!! I love it here and will definitely go back again as soon as possible..... If you are considering staying here.... Book it it's one of our best holidays ever xxxxxMore

Great friendly hotel
Enjoyed a lovely hot week here in July 2014 and met lots of lovely friendly people all from the UK - most of whom were return visitors. The hotel bbq night is recommended - Amazing T-bones! Hotel is clean and owners are so friendly. Rooms are basic Greek. We enjoyed a walk down to Kos Town most evenings to find somewhere to eat and during the day walked down to the beach road and along a little way where we took free sunbeds outside Old River - just buy your drinks from them and the sunbeds are free - unlike further back where they charge a daily rate for the beds. Lovely Greek salad in Old River at lunchtime too :) Handy large supermarket - 2 min walk from the hotel. Lovely, friendly hotel. Reading some of the other reviews I would like to say, a holiday is not made or broken on the fluffiness of the towels but more on the experience and the people. If you want 5" luxury it's easy to find - pay 5* luxury prices. If you want a family, friendly, fun, personal experience that is value for money then try the Alice Springs, you won't regret it.More

My husband and I were told about this place by a friend and finally we managed to get booked through Thomson who were doing Kos for the first time from Glasgow. On arrival at the hotel we received a warm welcome from George (the owner) and shown to our room which was on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the side of the hotel. The room itself was basic, clean and comfortable . The next morning we dashed down for the usual scrum for loungers and found that there was no need as there is more than enough to supply the guests, in fact we spent a lot of time around the pool on our own as a lot of guest went to the beach which is only a few minutes walk away. I would say one of the biggest highlights of our stay was enjoying the evenings when the hotel held Barbeque and Kleftikas meals - these were truly amazing and we felt were great value. You can eat snacks and meals cooked by the lovely Ellie - this lady works so hard and always has a beautiful smile on her face. It has to be said that all the staff in this hotel are wonderful - they constantly smile and chat, they keep the hotel grounds and rooms in immaculate condition and are keen to ensure your stay is enjoyable. The location of the hotel is another plus as it is situated far enough out from Kos town to be peaceful in the evening but is only a short walk if you wish to head into town. There is a huge supermarket just a few minutes from the hotel and a variety of restaurants to chose from - you must try Efkalipty which is almost directly opposite the hotel, or Blue Pheonix down next to the beach - both of these supplied great food at really good prices. We usually made our way back to the hotel and relaxed around the pool drinking lovely cocktails made by Elias - refreshing to be served cocktails containing proper branded drinks as we usually holiday in the big 5 star hotels which often serve local drinks or charge a fortune for brands. Just about everyone else we met at this hotel had been there year in, year out, and several had already booked for next year and even the year after! we can see why! this place is a little gem and we will definitely be back ( we generally dont go back to the same place twice) should Thomson provide flights from Glasgow in the future ??????? It was so good that we may even drive 5 hours to Manchester to return to a hotel that we returned home from feeling as though we had truly recharged our batteries Kos town itself is lovely and is a lovely stroll or short taxi ride from the hotel - there are loads of places to eat and drink along the way and in Kos Town the restaurants/cafes are brilliant. Shopping was great with lots of shops selling quality leather, jewellry and the usual souvenirs. I have to say that this holiday was one of the most enjoyable we have taken and I would thoroughly recommed it to families or couples .... you wont be disappointedMore
