As the name suggests, this place is a bit like Miss Jolie herself – it’s got loads to admire. For starters, there’s the location. You’re far enough from the centre of Kardamena to get some peace and quiet when you need a break, but you’re only a ten-minute walk from the heart of the action when it’s time to party. Plus there’s the hotel itself. It’s got a pool with a decent-sized sun terrace and its own late-night bar. The bedrooms come with fridges and balconies, and for a few extra euros you can crank up the air-con, too.

Never stay here again!!!!!
Me and my friend ( two girls aged 19) we stayed in Angelina in September. Angelina studios is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in, I have just arrived back this week and I would not recommend anyone to stay here! The rooms are extremely basic and do not have many facilities to be able to cook food or even make a cup of tea. They also do not even provide towels for after a shower or to even dry your hands with! Also they only provide you with one toilet roll to last you the length of stay. First impressions of the hotel is that it did not look the best and it was very dogey looking going up a dirt path to get to the hotel. When arriving up the hill the outside of the hotel is lovely. But when you enter your room it is not nice. The bed sheets were dirty and stained. The bathroom was basic and you had to hold the shower head to be able to have a shower. Even then the drains and shower still smelt. Our beds were only changed once in the week we were there. Most things within the room were dirty and basic. Around the pool was lovely, the only downside is that the pool wasn't cleaned properly of a night, and there was flys, insects and bugs in the pool. Because the pool was not cleaned properly the people I went with including me developed a rash because of this, which cleared up when we stopped going in the pool. On previous reviews I have read people say " you get treated like family" this is only the case if you buy food/snacks from the bar. If you don't then you just get ignored and not even spoken to! The reps at this hotel are lovely and would do anything for you and are always friendly and pleasant to talk to. There always up to have a laugh and a chat. Nikos who is the owner, will give you a price for something and then will change his mind when you go to pay. It seems to me he is only interested in making as much money as he possibly can out of you during your stay. I would avoid booking this hotel at all costs, pay the extra for a decent hotel, it does not deserve any stars let alone two!!More

absolutely amazing , i felt like part of the family
have just got back from angelina studios, where i went on holiday with one of my friends. we had an amazing time and didnt want to come back. the transfer is only about 15 mins from the airport and on arrival you do get dropped off on the road at the bottom of the hill which is a bit scary at first but its not far and then we were greeted by zack who was like hulk he just grabbed all our bags for us and helped us to our room :) then down to the bar for a welcome vodka jelly with nikos, (nikos is the manager and this is a family run complex.) the rooms are pretty basic tbh you need to bring your own towels and toilet roll etc but for a 2* i dont know what people are expecting. if you are looking for 5* luxury this is not for you. our room had a lovely view over the pool and the bar and with it being a small complex they are all like this. all rooms have a balcony et but if you want air con it is an extra 25 euros per week and im not sure how much the safe was as we didnt need it. our stuff was completely safe all week. a few times we even left the door unlocked and everythign was absolutely fine - we were all like a massive family. there were a mixture of ages, our neighbours were a lovely geordie couple id guess were in their 50s and they were fab. we also then made lots of friends around our own ages (24 and 25) but every one just mucked in and all looked out for each other. there is a snack bar in the day that is well priced and yummy :) they do toastys, breakfasts, pizzas etc. amazing when youve got a hangover and dont fancy walking into town. the rooms are cleaned every day by nikos' daughter. and if there are any problems they are very quick to help, we had a problem with our air con and nikos cam straight out. town is a little bit of a walk 5 - 10 mins - go left out of the hotel and follow the road down. there is also a supermarket there so you can get food drink etc for the room and loo roll haha. all in all i would reccommend this hotel and i would go here again :) nikos and his family made it for us.we had a fab time and would be glad to go backMore

Me and my friend (2 girls; aged 18 and 20) stayed in The Angelina at the end of July. Please do not listen to any of the bad reviews for this hotel, we can honestly say that it was one of the best holidays we have had!! When we arrived, yes it was very dark but it was 5 o'clock in the morning we were not expecting any different! Zack the owners son was there to greet us and take us to our room, he was very polite and funny. The rooms are very basic but always clean! The staff at the hotel were amazing! Nikos, Zack, Manos and little Nikos really made our stay enjoyable. The pool was great and again always clean! (We spent everyday here) We actually went for a party holiday but ended up staying at the pool bar 6/7 nights because it was such a good atmosphere (and very good prices!) The food at the pool bar is also amazing! :) The hotel did an amazing BBQ for us with beautiful food, we were so impressed (and full!) Overall we had an amazing time! The hotel was great and the staff were even better, we made some really good friends who did everything to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be coming again! Shannon and Danielle x x x One thing i would like to say is that the reps are pretty rubbish!! They are only interested in you when you first arrive and want to get you to pay for stuff, once you hand over your money they want nothing to do with you. Before you buy anything of the reps ask the staff if they can get you tickets!! (We wish we did!)More

Great wee hotel, great staff and great location!
I've just come home from this hotel, and wanted to leave a review because we had the best holiday ever! My first tip though, dont bother paying £20 each for a transfer! The hotel is about an 8 minute drive from the airport! Get a taxi, its cheaper. I had checked the place out on here prior to our visit, so its safe to say i wasn't expecting much, but i was so wrong! Now all the reviews are true, you are in fact thrown out of the bus onto a dirt track which slightly daunting! However no sooner are you out of the bus, Nikos and his family are there to greet you! They are the nicest family i have ever met! We were shown to our rooms and helped with our cases. We tried to tip him for his help , and he would take it! The rooms are basic, but for what your paying to stay here you really cant expect much more. They are clean, have all basic amenities and get cleaned daily. However a few tips are that you only get one toilet roll, however you only pay 2euros for 8 in the local supermarket. You don't get towels straight off, however if you ask you'l get. They don't give them out as they have a lot of youngsters ruining them from paint and uv parties. The shower is a bit of a pain, there's nothing to attach it to the wall so you have to hold it, however i'm 100% sure if it had bothered us that much and we had asked Nikos to fix it he would have. After dumping our cases we headed back to the pool bar which is all lit up and really lovely. Make sure you ask if you can play your music through his speakers though, as his music taste can be questionable haha! They have a good selection of branded and local alcohol, good food and all for great prices. We were even given a welcome cocktail! Nikos gave us a few tips about where the local bars were, supermarkets ect and we headed off for a few drinks. A group of us walked together as to begin with the walk looks a bit daunting, but we soon realized its literally a 10 minute walk and its not as scary as first seemed. The next day we got up (all be it very hungover) and headed to the pool. Its such a lovely little pool area, there's loads of sunbeds with no shortage. And Nikios's amazing full breakfast sorted us right out! You also have to try the cheese and ham toasties! AMAZING! Its a great wee place to stay, and the family will literally do anything for you. Two of us ordered a mixed grill one night, and instead of say he'd ran out, Nikos drove down to the super market to get us it! i can imagine it gets a bit rowdy when there's groups of teens, but at the end of the day its a 20's hotel. If you want quiet and relaxing, your going to the wrong place never mind wrong hotel. I absolutely loved my stay here and would 100% go back! Just a few more tips, if your going to try a resturaunt go to Pelagus, its amazing! And if you want a good bar go to Oregin, its on your left when you walk into the town from the hotel. The PR girl Kim is great and so helpfull. Thanks for a great week Nikos :) xMore

Basic accommodation but good location
My boyfriend and I arrived at the Angelina Studios on the 13th August and stayed for a week. We arrived late at night and felt slightly unnerved when the coach transfer dropped us off at the bottom of a dirt track...however, moments later we were greeted by Nikos and his family and were shown to our rooms. On route to our room, it was hard to make out what the accommodation looked like in the dark, but the pool/bar area was lit up and seemed nice enough. When arriving to our rooms, we were told we had to pay extra for air con and safe which I reccomend you do as it does get very hot! The room was extremely basic which is fine if youre not intending to spend a lot of time there. The room was cleaned everyday and cleanliness was usually ok. However, sheets on the bed were sometimes stained, (I just turned them over!) ripped and areas of the floor were not swept properly. The bathroom was basic and the shower was ok, but was not connected to the wall and we had to hold it. Also, ensure you buy some toilet roll from the supermarket as they do not provide more than one toilet roll. It is actually cheap so we weren't that bothered. The balcony areas are quite big but we couldn't really use ours because it was a playground for the local stray cats! We were worried about fleas! Speaking of insects, we were greeted with a few cockroaches in our room - be vigilant! The pool area is decent and compared to the inner town hotels we seemed to have a good deal. The bar is also decent with fairly priced food and drinks. The location is great and under ten minutes to get to the restaurants and nightlife. Although, it was a twentys holiday and you could attend planned club/bar events, we stayed mostly around the restaurants and bars and had a great time. The atmosphere is chilled and there really is something for everyone in Kardamena town. Restaurants like Pelagos, Taramatsa, Blue Note and Avli are ones to definitely try and have a great selection of delicious dishes to enjoy. Bar street has a wide selection of bars that serve lovely and cheap cocktails! Again, the atmosphere is fun, relaxed and not in your face with either drunken teens or pretentious people thinking it's Ibiza! The excursion to Kos town is a definite must - lots to see and do! Ensure you see the amphitheatre and roman ruins. We did do the Bodrum excursion which was ok, not as nice as Kos - too busy and in your face. However, great for shopping and trying Turkish delicacies. The beach at Kardamena is beautiful. Its well worth it to hire a pedelo, to enjoy the crystal clear waters and picturesque Greek surroundings. Overall, a good holiday which was mostly made by Kardamena itself. As i said earlier, the apartments were ok but do not expect anything more than really, really basic stuff! The staff were friendly and would chat to you. But, we did ask for a light to be fixed in our room and it wasn't! However, if you are wanting a low budget place to stay and don't mind comprise then Angelina Studios might be for you. More
