Hotel Pelagos Bay

This little hotel comes with a sea-facing pool and a secluded cove just across the way.

Billy, Barbara and the family’s Labrador, Disney, make welcoming hosts at this little hotel. Sea-facing rooms look onto the pool, where the bar serves up meals and snacks and – at night – is a great place for cocktails.

One of the reasons guests keep coming back is the cove just across the road. It’s a little rocky number, secluded and quiet, where you can leave your towel while you pop back to the hotel for lunch.

Best Holiday Ever!!

We went on holiday to Pelagos Bay in August 2014 with my parents who had already been at least 3 times, They had told us how great it was but until we arrived we didn't realize exactly how great it actually was. We were made to feel so welcome on arrival and Billy, Barbra and all the staff remembered my mum and dad from a few years previous. It was my dads birthday during our holiday and i emailed the hotel a few weeks before and on the morning of his birthday Barbra had arranged a cake for my dad and decorate the bar with banners and balloons and played "happy birthday" over the speakers as he arrived for breakfast. The food is amazing, especially the Greek salad and Greek pizza and the BBQ night is a must. The cove across the road is were we spent most of our holiday snorkeling and swimming. We ate out a few times and never had a bad meal. We visited the secret garden restaurant in Skala village and that was lovely. The cocktails at captains cocktail bar are amazing, as well as the bar itself. The cocktails at the hotel that Yanni makes are also just as amazing. The views from all the rooms are fantastic and the rooms themselves are just as good and spotlessly clean. The shower was very hot and powerful. The pool is a good size and very refreshing on a hot day. The lounge had sky tv to keep the children up to date with there tv shows in an evening when we were enjoying a few drinks by the pool. There is also free WiFi in the bar and round the pool so you can keep up to date back home for free. We used Facebook instead of making calls and texts to family and we didn't come home to a huge bill!! We have booked again for this year and cant wait. The place and staff are fantastic and we haven't got a bad word to say! For those moaning about breakfast, lets be honest, do you all have a slap up breakfast when at home? I don't even bother with breakfast so it was a luxury to have tea and toast every morning, plus i feel if you have a fry up everyday in heat like that your just left feeling full for the rest of the day. If i could give 10 stars then i would! Thanks for an amazing holiday to everyone at Pelagos bay, see you in August!!! Rachel, Simon, Sue, Ian, Ebony & Ellie-may xxxMore

MAGunn,

Excellent Familiy Run Hotel

Stayed in September (2014) with another couple. Hotel and staff excellent. Accommodation with AC also very good with ample room. All the food that we ate in the hotel was really good, and plenty of it! I would recommend this hotel to anyone - this is probably why you get a lot of returns to this hotel, nearly everyone we met had been before. We will probably go back next year.More

Keith T,

Josie D,

excellent place to stay if you are in the "clique"

We arrived a little bit late at the Pelagos Bay and what a welcome we had from Katerina, the Thomson Rep Jonathan and the handyman/gardener/porter. Katerina told us about the hotel and what was happening in the next couple of days. Jonathan, was there because of the welcome party which was starting in the next few minutes. Our bags were promptly taken up to our rooms and good job we didn't have to take them up ourselves, as there were many steps. Katerina mentioned that her mother did all the cooking and on arrivals day they have specials, which on Thursday it was Kefalonian meat pie and there were only 2 slices left. We promptly ordered them as it was 5.15 pm, so it saved us going out and finding food at this late hour. Katerina introduced us to Georgia and Yiannis, who were behind the bar. Katerina took us up to our room and was impressed by the spaciousness of it. The view was gorgeous as every room faces the sea.It had a fridge and aircon and a hairdryer. I unpacked and we changed and went down to the pool area to have a look around. Yiannis treated us like we were part of the family, we were so impressed. There is a cove opposite the hotel, so we went down there to have a look. its quite steep down and there are also a few steps. The cove has pebbles and small stones. The best thing to do is to wear shoes in the water as it will hurt your feet. We bought cheap shoes later on in the holiday to wear in the water, its so crystal clear, its beautiful We then took a walk to the supermarket, which is a good 20 minutes away. Food was served after 8 pm. We had excellent service from Georgia and the food was outstanding. We had many specials during our stay, there was plenty of it and it was lovely. We also eat there during lunch, Anastasia served us food. she was so lovely, she taught us a few Greek words. Anatasia worked so hard and is a credit at the Pelagos Bay. The bar area was quite lively during the evening, the music wasn't loud and it didn't go on until really late. Other nights, we walked into Skala and its a good 30 minutes walk. There are lots of good restaurant, such as Flamingo, Mikelos family restaurant, Symposium and The Pines. Flamingo was our favorite. On our 1st full day, we decided to lounge around the pool. We discovered the tortoises which were behind the pool area. They were great entertainment throughout our holidays as 4 babies were born during our stay. The pool area is lovely. Barbara and Billy were away when we first came but the day after, they returned, so Katerina went back to Athens. Both Barbara and Billy made a great fuss of their friends and ignored anyone that weren't in their clique. This did not ruin our holiday, but we and other guests felt like outsiders. Overall it was hard to criticize the Hotel Pelagos Bay with Anastasia, Yiannis and Georgia making us feel very welcome. We didn't have any goodbyes from Barbara, yet on an earlier flight she was there waving her friends off. Kefalonia is a beautiful Island and Skala is a lovely place to stay.More
