This little hotel comes with a sea-facing pool and a secluded cove just across the way.
Billy, Barbara and the family’s Labrador, Disney, make welcoming hosts at this little hotel. Sea-facing rooms look onto the pool, where the bar serves up meals and snacks and – at night – is a great place for cocktails.
One of the reasons guests keep coming back is the cove just across the road. It’s a little rocky number, secluded and quiet, where you can leave your towel while you pop back to the hotel for lunch.
Stayed in September (2014) with another couple. Hotel and staff excellent. Accommodation with AC also very good with ample room. All the food that we ate in the hotel was really good, and plenty of it! I would recommend this hotel to anyone - this is probably why you get a lot of returns to this hotel, nearly everyone we met had been before.
We will probably go back next year.More
Holiday and family wedding
A few of us stayed at this small family run hotel for a week as we were attending a family wedding. We were made to feel so welcome and the staff were absolutely fantastic as were the owners. The hotel was beatifully kept and spotless. I wpuld recommend it to any age group and would love to go back and stay again.More
excellent place to stay if you are in the "clique"
We arrived a little bit late at the Pelagos Bay and what a welcome we had from Katerina, the Thomson Rep Jonathan and the handyman/gardener/porter. Katerina told us about the hotel and what was happening in the next couple of days. Jonathan, was there because of the welcome party which was starting in the next few minutes. Our bags were promptly taken up to our rooms and good job we didn't have to take them up ourselves, as there were many steps. Katerina mentioned that her mother did all the cooking and on arrivals day they have specials, which on Thursday it was Kefalonian meat pie and there were only 2 slices left. We promptly ordered them as it was 5.15 pm, so it saved us going out and finding food at this late hour. Katerina introduced us to Georgia and Yiannis, who were behind the bar.
Katerina took us up to our room and was impressed by the spaciousness of it. The view was gorgeous as every room faces the sea.It had a fridge and aircon and a hairdryer. I unpacked and we changed and went down to the pool area to have a look around. Yiannis treated us like we were part of the family, we were so impressed. There is a cove opposite the hotel, so we went down there to have a look. its quite steep down and there are also a few steps. The cove has pebbles and small stones. The best thing to do is to wear shoes in the water as it will hurt your feet. We bought cheap shoes later on in the holiday to wear in the water, its so crystal clear, its beautiful We then took a walk to the supermarket, which is a good 20 minutes away.
Food was served after 8 pm. We had excellent service from Georgia and the food was outstanding. We had many specials during our stay, there was plenty of it and it was lovely. We also eat there during lunch, Anastasia served us food. she was so lovely, she taught us a few Greek words. Anatasia worked so hard and is a credit at the Pelagos Bay. The bar area was quite lively during the evening, the music wasn't loud and it didn't go on until really late.
Other nights, we walked into Skala and its a good 30 minutes walk. There are lots of good restaurant, such as Flamingo, Mikelos family restaurant, Symposium and The Pines. Flamingo was our favorite.
On our 1st full day, we decided to lounge around the pool. We discovered the tortoises which were behind the pool area. They were great entertainment throughout our holidays as 4 babies were born during our stay. The pool area is lovely.
Barbara and Billy were away when we first came but the day after, they returned, so Katerina went back to Athens. Both Barbara and Billy made a great fuss of their friends and ignored anyone that weren't in their clique. This did not ruin our holiday, but we and other guests felt like outsiders.
Overall it was hard to criticize the Hotel Pelagos Bay with Anastasia, Yiannis and Georgia making us feel very welcome.
We didn't have any goodbyes from Barbara, yet on an earlier flight she was there waving her friends off.
Kefalonia is a beautiful Island and Skala is a lovely place to stay.More

Basic good accommodation - lovely nearby beaches!
The hotel was very clean and staff friendly and helpful, however the description of the type of accommodation and where it is situauted require more detail. I have difficulty with mobility and if we had not been able to hire a car it would have been very diifficult to get about and the whole holiday experience disappointing.. A long walk to the main village of Skala and steep steps to cove opposite. I was very disappointed with the breakfast 14 days of toast does not constitute 'bed and breakfast. It was an expensive holiday for what we paid and for the same money we could have gone all inclusive else where. The bed was very hard and the wooden surround constantly caused problems. My partner ended up sleeping on the single chair/bed. The balconies all had superb sea views but there was no privacy at all and felt pressurised by domestic staff to be out of room by 10am else they were knnocking on the door!! We also had trouble with plumbing and had to 'hide' towels to have enough clean!! On the plus side there were local gems of restaurants/tavernas to be found and 'Old Tmes' next door is superb, also Dreams at Katelonios, but unfortunately not there next season. The sea was the most clean and beautful we have ever swam in and even for that reason alone it is worth visiting Kefalonia, Melisandre Lake is worth visiting too. Make sure you book your car well in advance else you will have trouble like we did and end up paying 80 euros extra.More
