Just a 5-minute stroll away from the heart of Skala, this place offers a peaceful base close to the beach.
This good-looking retreat is wrapped up in peach-coloured walls, shuttered windows, and a terracotta roof. It’s got a bit of a private feel, thanks to the ring of flowering plants sheltering the whole place.
Inside, décor is on the simple side – think tiled floors, cream walls, and wooden furniture. A kitchenette is kitted out with basics like a cooking hob and a fridge. Plus, a balcony or terrace with sea or countryside views comes as standard.
Just a 5-minute wander away is Skala’s wide sand and shingle beach. Meanwhile, in town, narrow streets, traditional tavernas, and pavement cafés are the theme. And with a set of wheels, the pretty village of Katelios is only 10 minutes away.

laid back holiday
Peaceful location on edge of town but only 5 mins to beach and numerous eateries. Not the most up to date-a little care worn- BUT we had only asked for a 1 bed apartment with sofa bed, we GOT 2 double bedrooms with 2 balconies and 2 bathrooms! The owner, Dennis, is very helpful and friendly and there are lovely fruit trees and flowers in the shady garden/terrace area. We took aircon for both rooms at 70⬠for a week and a room safe for â¬15 (which was not advertised but we were glad to have the facility). The beach at Skala is very gritty so we took a water taxi to Katelios some days as that beach is sandy (and ideal for little ones). We only made breakfast or 2 early departing trips otherwise there was an enormous choice of good cafes and tavernas that were very cheap to eat in-it wasn't worth cooking!More

My family and I stayed at the dionysios studios in July for 12 days. We received a very warm welcome from Dennis, the owner. Dennis is incredibly hospitable and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay here feel like home. We had a lovely stay in a 2 bedroom suite that was very clean and comfortable. These apartments are a block away from the main strip, which made it very enjoyable to walk to the restaurants and attractions. As close as they are to the Main Street, it is very peaceful an quiet. When we return to skala we will stay at the dionysios studios for sure! Thank you Dennis More
terrible place nothing to see. the beach was terrible, rubbish everywhere. the water was full of jellyfish. the only attraction were the rocks on the south side of the beach. nowhere to party, everything got closed till midnight. there were a lot of mosquito. It was too expensive for such a placeMore

Great location on the west side of town
My partner and I had a great week at the Dionysus in early July 2013. The owner 'Dennis' met us as we got off the coach and took us to our room himself. We spoke to him many times during the week and he was always absolutely lovely - helpful, informative and wanting to provide guests with the best service his accommodation had to offer. Room 16 balcony faced east with views of trees and the sea to the south. The room was extremely clean on arrival with the décor being in an excellent condition, albeit a bit small and rather dated circa 1970's! We had taken a travel kettle but this was un-necessary as there was one provided (along with a toastie machine and there was even a shower curtain!). After that initial arrival we found bins were not emptied again until 2 days later and we had one clean and one change of towels and sheets throughout the week. The sheets weren't an issue but given the sanitary arrangements in Greece it might have been advisable to have emptied bins every day. In the event we did this ourselves using the skip up the road and it wasn't a problem for us. The Dionysus is fantastically situated in a fairly residential part of Skala. Although there seemed to be apartments/studios across the road these appeared to be very Greek oriented and looked more like villas or private houses. It was a 5 minute walk to town and the beach so the lack of a pool was never a problem and made the arrangement excellent value for money. On the down side, we did experience several nights when dogs barking woke us. Speaking to locals it appears that this is an on-going problem related to how these animals are kept (ie outside, chained up and often away from the owners whose vegetable patch they are supposed to be protecting!). The hoteliers do seem to be aware of it, however, so something might be done if enough visitors have an issue. Over all we felt the Dionysus represented great value for money and we wouldn't hesitate to return.More
