Dionysios Studios & Apartments

Just a 5-minute stroll away from the heart of Skala, this place offers a peaceful base close to the beach.

This good-looking retreat is wrapped up in peach-coloured walls, shuttered windows, and a terracotta roof. It’s got a bit of a private feel, thanks to the ring of flowering plants sheltering the whole place.

Inside, décor is on the simple side – think tiled floors, cream walls, and wooden furniture. A kitchenette is kitted out with basics like a cooking hob and a fridge. Plus, a balcony or terrace with sea or countryside views comes as standard.

Just a 5-minute wander away is Skala’s wide sand and shingle beach. Meanwhile, in town, narrow streets, traditional tavernas, and pavement cafés are the theme. And with a set of wheels, the pretty village of Katelios is only 10 minutes away.

Peaceful, good value studios

Stayed at Dionysios studios in August and found them to be in a great location just 5 minutes walk from all the tavernas, shops and beach. Despite being so close to all of this it is very peaceful here. The studios are kept very clean with towels and sheets changed every couple of days. Facilities include a fridge, kettle, mini grill, toaster, tv, air con and plenty of crockery and utensils. There is a small balcony where you can sit and relax with a small washing line. The owner Dennis is extremely friendly and helpful. He was always on hand looking after the pretty garden around the apartment block. He kindly arranged for us to have a studio available for us as we wanted a late checkout. We had a very relaxing, chilled out holiday here and these studios ticked all the right boxes for us. I would definitely return if I came back to Skala.More

Good budget accommodation in a quiet spot.

We booked a late deal here as it was from our local airport and excellently priced. The apartment is on the edge of town, so if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle, it's just right. The room was reasonably sized - if a bit dated - and as the apartments are set way back from the sea there isn't really much of a view. It was very clean, has a small kitchen with all you need, and a bathroom that was just a bit too compact, we thought. You need to pay for a safe key (hadn't done that for a few years) and also for the aircon control. The manager is a really nice, friendly man, who went out of his way to do us a favour. There are little balconies and guests really seemed to be enjoying the place - with quite a few repeat visitors. So, in summary, it's very reasonable, fairly basic, budget accommodation in a quiet and peaceful spot.More

Peaceful and Relaxing break

This was our very first holiday in Kefalonia. We have travelled to many Greek islands over the years and I have to say this is one of our favourites and we are already looking forward to booking again next year. The Dionysios apartments turned out to be exactly what we expected, basic but with everything that we needed for our weeks stay. We had no complaints as the apartments were cleaned and the linen changed twice weekly which was adequate, we thought. We purchased the air con which we found very beneficial. These apartments are set in a peaceful location but not even a 5 minute walk to the shops and the beautiful Skala beach was just 5 mins walk away. We ate at several of the beach tavernas during our long balmy days on the beach but our favourite was the Sunrise which was just the best, fantastic food reasonably priced!! We walked/swam around the rocks to the turtle beach Approx 30 mins away. This beach, although there is nothing of interest on it, is not to be missed as the waters were amazing! We could just imagine the little turtles swimming for their lives in the moonlight as we bathed in their crystal clear shallow waters. Skala itself has a good selection of tavernas shops and supermarkets. We tried different restaurants/tavernas every night, as the choice was vast, and we never had a bad meal over the whole week. Give these apartments and definitely Kefalonia a try, like us, I'm sure you will be dreaming of visiting this beautiful island again in the very near future.More

brilliant !!!

just returned from our 2weeks hol in skala this is our 8th or 9th visit, its our first visit to dionysios we would gladly stay again. I emailed Dennis the owner to request a downstairs room due to a ongoing knee injury which he sorted out for us no problem. Dennis and his family are so friendly they could not do enough for you,If you are expecting 5 star luxury then they are not for you. yes the furniture is not posh but there is everything you want and are spotlessly clean they are cleaned every day bar 1 each week usually when they have a busy change over day. would def recommend them to anyone who is use to greeceMore

laid back holiday

Peaceful location on edge of town but only 5 mins to beach and numerous eateries. Not the most up to date-a little care worn- BUT we had only asked for a 1 bed apartment with sofa bed, we GOT 2 double bedrooms with 2 balconies and 2 bathrooms! The owner, Dennis, is very helpful and friendly and there are lovely fruit trees and flowers in the shady garden/terrace area. We took aircon for both rooms at 70€ for a week and a room safe for €15 (which was not advertised but we were glad to have the facility). The beach at Skala is very gritty so we took a water taxi to Katelios some days as that beach is sandy (and ideal for little ones). We only made breakfast or 2 early departing trips otherwise there was an enormous choice of good cafes and tavernas that were very cheap to eat in-it wasn't worth cooking!More
