The rooms are spacious and well equipped. Cleanliness is excellent. The aforementioned rules would not present a problem to people who are respectful of the accommodation provided by Elizabeth and shared with others.
Our studio apartment on the ground floor had a spacious terrace allowing the choice of both shade and sunshine, with scenic views of the sea and Zante. The adjacent path to the other apartments does reduce privacy a bit but is more than made up by its friendliness.
Skala has a quiet charm about it which brings people back to the town and these apartments year after year. The walk from back up from town is steep but short and manageable for most. The restaurants in town are terrific, serving the best in Greek cuisine, though I do think that the Kefalonian meat pie would benefit from a drop of gravy. There are a couple of well stocked supermarkets for your everyday needs.

excellent all round
The apartments are situated off the main street of Skala, on a hill but easily manageable. The apartments are very clean, spacious and well equipped. , We had a ground floor apartment but still had wonderful sea views, with a clear view of Zante. Air conditioning is extra, around 140 euros for 2 weeks. The pool is excellent, very clean, peaceful with plenty of sunbeds. The pool is also chlorine free, hence why there are rules on Lilos and other plastic inflatables!! Despite reviews complaining of strict pool rules and no balls, this is not the case! If you are polite, respectful of other guests and not rowdy then ball games are allowed. The owner, Elizabeth, tries to ensure every guest enjoys their time at the pool, so if you want to read a book at the poolside with getting splashed, then Andreas Apartments are for you.
The bar at the pool serves food and again the rules are relaxed, if no one is at the bar when you want a drink, you can take one from the fridge, as long as you pay for it later!! The food is of good quality and evenly priced with other nearby cafes/bars.
Elizabeth hosts an excellent BBQ night, once a week. If you do not want to attend, it is not a problem. We never went along but still joined guests for drinks later, we were welcomed with open arms by Elizabeth.
Elizabeth will do her best to accommodate all requests, I asked for premier league football and Elizabeth duly obliged on the TV next to the bar and pool.
Skala is very clean and friendly, all the local restaurants are reasonably priced, with excellent food.
The Thomson trips leave early between 8.30 - 9.30am so we hired a car and travelled at our convenience.
Thank you Elizabeth for an excellent holiday, we hope to see you again!More
We stayed at the Andreas Studios in Skala and had a lovely time, Elizabeth was there to welcome us on arrival and showed us to our studio, we were totally delighted the views from our studio were to die for (we were in 130 at what you would call the back (although that is were the entrance is!) The place was spotlessly clean and furnished to a high standard, with plenty of cupboard space, A/C and a safe available at extra cost if wanted. There were some really nice touches like a bottle of water in the fridge on arrival and a little clock by the bed, also a offered a free drink at the bar in the evening to meet them and other guests.
We had read some of the other reviews but always like to make up our own minds, we found Elizabeth and her staff to be perfectly pleasant, and would recommend you go to the B-B-Q evening the food was excellent and cleverly done so you were seated at a long table opposite your partner/friend so that you had other guests either side to meet and chat to, really nice way to break the ice and Elizabeth was a really good host, chatting to all and teasing some of her guests who return each year. She explained to us that she has some rules but her philosophy is for all to enjoy their holiday not just a few and we certainly did that keep up the good work.
Skala itself is a small village and has a good array of restaurants our personal favourite was Mi abella but all of the ones we ate at were very good and reasonably priced. There are plenty of mini markets and other little shops, the sea was beautiful and we swam most days, but the best thing about here for us was the walks, the wild flower meadows were in full bloom and the smells and hum from the bees were a delight. Would recommend you pick up one of the local maps that are free outside most of the supermarkets as they show you the tracks as well so you don't have to walk on the roads although there was barely any traffic when we were there, one word of warning the walk to Skala old town is well worth doing but the restaurant at the top was undergoing refurbishment so not open at the time, best to check first and make sure you take water as it is uphill to get there, (we took a picnic)
In finishing everything about this holiday was great the locals are very friendly. Highly recommend a visit we will definitely go back and stay there again.
The only let down (although didn't bother us) was the Thompson rep he had no info on anything telling us it was very early in the season and they hadn't got anything from the printers as yet! considering there were flights in from Gatwick, Manchester and East Midlands that week you thought it might have given him a clue that people were coming! but to be honest after the welcome meeting we never saw him again anywayMore
Good standard of rooms and pool, great views, just above Skala town.
Good to great view over countryside, sea and Zante from rooms, pleasant rooms with aircon and safe extra, run as a tight ship with rules to ensure consideration of others, very pleasant bar and room person, Fotini, who does it all, so can't always be at the bar to serve. Recommended place to stay if you're happy with a couple of minutes walk to the top of the town, and a further ten minutes or so through town to the beach, which is pleasant to laze on and swim from.More
Small and friendly
This is a small site, but Elisabeth who is owner never there. We assume as end of season. We were invited to meet and greet but she did not turn up!
The place seems to be run by very hard working Bulgarian lady, who seems to do everything from housekeeping to manning the bar. It is also situated out of town up a steep hill which is a problem for people with walking difficulties. You also have to pay for air conditioning at 75 euros per week. The beds were as hard as boards!More
