Relaxing place to stay
We are a family of 4 and returned yesterday after a very relaxing weeks holiday at Andreas apartments. The apartments are very clean and well equipped and it's a great location for restaurants, shops and the beach. We had one of the larger rooms so were lucky enough to have a small balcony looking over the pool and sea and another terrace looking over the mountains. The swimming pool is a great size with a smaller toddler pool, there's plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. Elizabeth the owner does have a few rules such as no inflatables in the pool and having a shower before you get in but this really isn't a problem and helps keep a clean and relaxing environment. My only negative is that you are not allowed to take any drinks or food from your room down to the pool area, including water and the bar drinks, snacks and ice creams are very expensive.More
This is a clean ,quiet and good value for money base for your holiday .have to pay 50 euros a week for air con which you will need .Apartments are at the top of a hill but this did not distract from our holiday .Most days we were the only ones by the pool ,sometimes 2 or 3 more couples bit always peaceful and quiet . Much has been written about Elizabeth ,yes she does have very fixed rules and can be very abrupt but for us this was not a problem .We did feel that the 16 euros per head for the BBQ was very expensive .We had chicken ,pork and sausage ,salad and potatoes .No desert only melon and not even a glass of ouzo .It does feel that Elizabeth is out to make as much as she can out of her guests ,water being 2 euros a bottle when it is 1,60 for 6 in the shop .The most we were charged in any restaurant was 1 euro 20 .Drinks ,food etc. also very expensive .This is a shame as it seems to drive guests out of the complex .In conclusion ,we had a great relaxing holiday and would return again we visited Skala .More
If you want a totally stress free holiday, this is the place for you. So much has been said about Elizabeth which is just not true. We had never been to the Andreas before so had some reservations (as we would with any new destination) but they proved to be unfounded. Both the apartments and the pool area are kept very clean. The 'rules', as such, are what make the place so relaxing. No lilos, ball games, reserving beds etc. Everyone much shower before entering the pool and Elizabeth will remind you if you don't. There is no banging music constantly playing, just MTV at the bar area. We have had a holiday totally ruined by a family who played aggressive ball games in the pool at Santorini on a daily basis, reserving half the pool area with towels from early morning to late afternoon whether they actually used them or not. There is no worry of this happening at the Andreas. Whilst we were there, Elizabeth allowed a young teen to play with a ball whilst the pool was empty but asked him to stop when other people arrived to ensure their comfort, rewarding him with a free icecream but this was not enough for the mother who went on to complain about Elizabeth to anyone who would listen. To sum up, this is not the place for you if you want to play games in the pool, get up at 5 to reserve sunbeds and not to wash off before you get into the pool. It is for you if you want a completely stress free break in a comfortable apartment.More
Family of 4 just had a great two weeks at these apartments. Accommodation spotlessly clean as was the pool and pool area. Elisabeth and Denis helpful with advice on local area - great with the children. We would love to make a return visit sometimeMore
