We stayed at Andreas studios and apartments for a week, ground floor studio, room 112. Wonderful views, beautiful gardens, set above and well away from the pool bar and pool. The pool area is immaculate, and drinks are served with a smile at the friendly bar.The room was well equipped, even to little touches like an alarm clock and a bottle of water in the fridge.
Scala itself is a very friendly small pretty town and is only a short walk from the apartments.
Old Scala is interesting to wander around, and if you don't want to walk there, it is 10 euros each way from the taxi rank on the sea front. The taverna at the top was preparing to open on 21 May.
As we had been to Kefalonia before, we had already done the tour around the island, so we booked the Ithaka tour with Etam Travel, near the sea front. Wonderful day and well worth the 40 euros each.
We left Andreas with hugs and kisses from Elisabeth, and can't wait to return next May! Judy T.More
We stayed at the Andreas Studios in Skala and had a lovely time, Elizabeth was there to welcome us on arrival and showed us to our studio, we were totally delighted the views from our studio were to die for (we were in 130 at what you would call the back (although that is were the entrance is!) The place was spotlessly clean and furnished to a high standard, with plenty of cupboard space, A/C and a safe available at extra cost if wanted. There were some really nice touches like a bottle of water in the fridge on arrival and a little clock by the bed, also a offered a free drink at the bar in the evening to meet them and other guests.
We had read some of the other reviews but always like to make up our own minds, we found Elizabeth and her staff to be perfectly pleasant, and would recommend you go to the B-B-Q evening the food was excellent and cleverly done so you were seated at a long table opposite your partner/friend so that you had other guests either side to meet and chat to, really nice way to break the ice and Elizabeth was a really good host, chatting to all and teasing some of her guests who return each year. She explained to us that she has some rules but her philosophy is for all to enjoy their holiday not just a few and we certainly did that keep up the good work.
Skala itself is a small village and has a good array of restaurants our personal favourite was Mi abella but all of the ones we ate at were very good and reasonably priced. There are plenty of mini markets and other little shops, the sea was beautiful and we swam most days, but the best thing about here for us was the walks, the wild flower meadows were in full bloom and the smells and hum from the bees were a delight. Would recommend you pick up one of the local maps that are free outside most of the supermarkets as they show you the tracks as well so you don't have to walk on the roads although there was barely any traffic when we were there, one word of warning the walk to Skala old town is well worth doing but the restaurant at the top was undergoing refurbishment so not open at the time, best to check first and make sure you take water as it is uphill to get there, (we took a picnic)
In finishing everything about this holiday was great the locals are very friendly. Highly recommend a visit we will definitely go back and stay there again.
The only let down (although didn't bother us) was the Thompson rep he had no info on anything telling us it was very early in the season and they hadn't got anything from the printers as yet! considering there were flights in from Gatwick, Manchester and East Midlands that week you thought it might have given him a clue that people were coming! but to be honest after the welcome meeting we never saw him again anywayMore
A great week in Skala and Andreas Studios
Spent a great week in Kefalonia, Skala is a great place with lots of good Tavernas to eat at and all reasonably priced. Andreas Studios are like an oasis, really peaceful with great views of both sea and countryside. They are located up a hill just about the right distance from the town. The studios are spacious, well maintained and very, very clean. The pool area can only be described as immaculate.......Elisabeth is a great host, and whilst there are some comments about high prices at the bar, they are similar to those in town.
I'm sure we'll return to Skala and Andreas Studios.More

Fantastic little place ðð
My husband took me back to our favourite island for my birthday . We have been to Skala many times but it was our first at this hotel .
We were not disappointed at all !! We do read reviews for where we stay however always make up our own minds and never judge . We were warmly welcomed on arrival , our room was on the ground floor overlooking the pool and had the most amazing view of the sea and surroundings . We had a lovely shaded and sunny terrace and the room was spacious and immaculately clean . It had everything we needed plus the added touch of a cold bottle of water in the fridge .
The rooms were cleaned daily and changes of towels regular and I have to say they were white , soft and lovely .
Elizabeth is a great host and a lovely lady yes she has rules but only ones we would have expected if you respect Elizabeth, her property and how hard she and her 2 staff work to keep the place so pristine and well run.
Thank you Elizabeth we had an brilliant week and will definitely recommend to people and we will definitely return again.More
The rooms are spacious and well equipped. Cleanliness is excellent. The aforementioned rules would not present a problem to people who are respectful of the accommodation provided by Elizabeth and shared with others.
Our studio apartment on the ground floor had a spacious terrace allowing the choice of both shade and sunshine, with scenic views of the sea and Zante. The adjacent path to the other apartments does reduce privacy a bit but is more than made up by its friendliness.
Skala has a quiet charm about it which brings people back to the town and these apartments year after year. The walk from back up from town is steep but short and manageable for most. The restaurants in town are terrific, serving the best in Greek cuisine, though I do think that the Kefalonian meat pie would benefit from a drop of gravy. There are a couple of well stocked supermarkets for your everyday needs.
We are going back in 2016 â¦More
