Just as amazing!!!!

Back for a second visit ! Not disappointed at all. Just as lovely beautiful location just up from the Main Street in Scala. So peaceful , Pool beautiful no problem at all with sun loungers. Maintained to high standard . This is away from the main hustle and bustle but in my opinion So much more enjoyable for that. The hill back up from town is not for the faint hearted but worth the view!!! Taxis available if required. If you want peace, a chilled time this is a fab location😎More

Not made welcome

We are just back from 2 lovely weeks in skala not our first time to kefalonia, we actually love Greece & have holiday"d twice a year for the last many years, we couldn't fault the apartment or facilities all were lovely however have to agree with other reviews this is the first time we've been to Greece & not felt welcome by the owner, started well but we didn't attend the bbq or drink at the pool bar late each night so were not in the click & for the last week Elizabeth was hard pressed to say hello, we did use the pool & bar a few days but no one was serving so if you wanted a draft beer or ouzo you was out of luck apparently we were allowed to help our selves to bottles or cans from the fridge, also we fell asleep one night with our shutters open contrary to the rules & had a curt note left in our room the next day informing us we must! Close the shutters for security & incase of local wild animals ( really) but if you want a really clicky place where you can drink late with Elizabeth and the crowd each night go for it, we know it can go on til 3am cos we were woken in the early hours on several occasions even with our shutters closed! As instructed, don't usually review not usually wingers, kefalonia & skala still highly recommended loved! The old village taverna on main Street, More

Mari R,

beautiful place shame about the owner

We very much agree with last review, the apartment, pool and grounds were immaculately looked after, the resort everything that we wanted and more, plenty of things to do such as boat trips and excursions but the owner Elisabeth made you feel uncomfortable in case you did not 'tow the line' and follow her rules with regard to moving chairs etc......we were careful as I had read reviews prior to going .We did go to the BBQ which was good but did not eat or drink at the bar so I dont think we were one of the in crowd who go every year and are definately favoured with her attention. We have not got a problem with any rules but we think if she changed her attitude it would be more pleasant, therefore we will not return........beautiful views and quiet but steep hill to apartments to bear in mind.Request a higher floor......met some great people and loved the 'Old Village' restaurant.More

Not going back.

Having read good and poor reviews, I went with an open mind. I don't want to do a 'hatchet job' on the owner, but, a holiday is supposed to be a holiday. I found that unless you use the bar, cafe, and attend the barbecues, Elisabeth doesn't want to know you. Surely a business person should at least show good manners. However a great resort and a very friendly and great restaurant is just down the street, the Mikelatos. Well worth a visit.More

sreep hill wonderfull views

We went to these apartments in May and like other reviews found the apartments very clean and spacious. They are situated at the top of the main street in Skala and beyond, which means if you have difficulty walking you will struggle. But the views are wonderful and it is reasonably quiet at night. We have seen some of the comments about the owner and her rules but like to make up our own mind. When we arrived there was a bottle of water in the fridge, sweets on the dresser and an invitation for a free small beer in the bar that night. We went down to the bar and met some lovely people, many who had been many times and on their recommendation we filled in the form from the room to go to the bbq.It was not as good as some of the bbqs we have had at other places but it was a good ice breaker, but we decided not to go to the second one the following week.Big Mistake! We were asked everyday if we had filled in some market research form and the bbq form. When i told the owner we would not be going to the bbq in a polite way she flapped her hand at me in a dismissive way and tutted! We did not go around the pool very often as there is a two tier price, despite the pool and bar area being only 2 chairs away from the other and also more expensive than the tavernas. The pool area is open from 10.30am until 6.30pm,which in my view is too late start and too early close. The children in the studios wanted to be in the pool before that time and most people wanted to be around the pool area after 6.30 as it was still very hot and there were no areas for sunbathing especially if you had a ground floor studio. But not only werent you allowed in the pool after 6.30pm you could not stay on the sunbeds either as the owner hosed them down and she was quite rude to a young couple with a baby, who tried to move the pram into the shade, therefore having to move the small table. She hollered from the bar area and it must have been a showing up.We spent a lot of money staying at the studios, some 30 euros for the bbq,38 euros for safe deposit, and drinks, altho not every night but we obviously didnt spend enough money. We were logged everytime we bought something by asking our room number. We also cooked for ourselves some nights and the owner made a point of walking along the path to check what everyone was doing. She stood in front of our studio,on the phone, staring in a mad manner at us as we ate.She didnt acknowledge our greetings and was very rude. Some people will say you need rules but everyone was courteous and the children well behaved, and no one was disobeying any rules. But there are too many and despite the area, and the rooms being lovely,we will not be going back to these studios.I think if your face fits and you spend enough money you are welcome but she is very rude if you dont.We love Skala and will go back but not to this 'Basil Fawlty'experience!More
