A fantastic 10 Days
We had a fantastic holiday, the hotel was excellent, the rooms and public areas were spotlessly clean, the food was great and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. If you want a quite relaxed holiday then this is the place to go.More

amazing 2weeks holiday
a very quiet location but lovely 5star hotel with good food great service, very clean hotel with lovely pool area no blaring music or the need to take part in any activities or games,we used the cinema on 5 occasions. The beach is a few hundred metres down the road and other beaches are quite close by taxi. We went to Agostili twice via taxi and ferry which was very easy and reasonable. We will certainly return to this hotel again, a nvery relaxing stayMore

OK, not great
A colleague had arranged an academic meeting in the resort. Rooms and food paid for in advance. Rooms were fine, building is new, all was clean and in good repair, spacious and with a balcony. Pool area is spacious and gleaming. Beach is a fifteen minute walk, nothing spectacular but surprisingly empty. Food was average, plenty to choose from but of average quality. Even though we had already paid for the food, many of my colleagues chose to eat at the nearby taverna, which had a limited choice but excellent quality. Entertainment in the evening typically was a DJ playing ancient hits, we would have preferred something less intrusive.More
OH SO RELAXING!!! "WONDERFUL"
Where do I start?? We recently returned on 14th June from a 10 day stay at this beautifully kept hotel and must say we enjoyed every minute of it. The Hotel as has been mentioned in other reviews is spotlessly clean, with the friendliest of staff and we had no complaints whatsoever about the food. We booked through Thomson and it was our first package holiday in 8years and were surprised how efficient the whole process was. Although we did not plan to do anything but relax we did hire a car for a couple of days and drove all over the island we also took a trip with Thomson which was really good Katrina the guide was excellent. There are so many lovely places to see in Kefalonia we are planning a return trip next year. When we first arrived the season had only just begun so it was with nice to see everything starting to open up a coupe of Tavernas on the beach a mini market, sunbeds cheap (6euros a set) and we visited most of them for either a drink or snacks. Back to the Hotel and the staff may we say thank you to all of them from Helena in the bar making my favourite cocktail which was new to her, to Andreas who served our favourite wine Robolo Gentilini at dinner each evening and not to forget our lovely Maitre D with whom my husband Dave had a few jokes with every evening (sharing a few greek words he had learnt!!). All the staff work exceptionally hard and we never saw a miserable face the whole time we were there brilliant. We met some lovely people Nicchola and Andy, Lee and Lou, Pete and Lynn to name a few. Everything else has been said in previous reviews just also like to thank the owner for allowing people to view his art work, and sculptures this I really enjoyed. Although this hotel is in a quiet area, and is mainly couples we found enough to do if you venture out and explore nearby. We will be returning to the Apollonion next year and look forward to being there again and seeing if some of the old staff still remain. Till next time Julie and Dave Barnes room 265.More
Visited Apollonion for the second time, it was just as lovely and relaxing as before. We were treated like royalty from start to finish! All the staff are friendly and helpful. Anastasia is lovely and always welcomes you with a big smile as does the Maitre' de' in the restaurant. The food was varied and very nice, especially the themed Greek night and pasta night. When we arrived we were told our room had been upgraded to room 321, what a stunning view and as before room was lovely clean and maid service very good! We were treated to a bowl of fruit and bottle of wine which was a lovely surprise. Xi beach is lovely and we enjoyed a walk on the beach every morning after breakfast. This resort is for totally relaxing and getting away from it all. The pool area is absolutely lovely and spotless. The only thing that was a bit annoying despite signs saying "No Jumping in pool" & "No ball games", there was a family that insisted on doing both and annoyingly this made us leave the pool area on 2 occasions for some peace and quiet! I do think that the rules of the pool need to be made clearer as this is definitely not a resort to be associated with loud people who insist on ignoring the signs around the pool. Also really annoying when people put towels on sunbeds to reserve. There is no need for this, as we found that whatever time you arrived at the pool there were always beds available!. We enjoyed an evening in the open air cinema and a stroll around the Art Gallery which has some very interesting pieces of art. Also treated myself to a pedicure and manicure in the Spa and Sarah the Spa Manager is so lovely! Enjoyed our chat and her attempt to try and teach me some Greek words, (not easy);-) Needless to say we will be going back again and hopefully get to stay in room 321!! PLEASE! Cant wait...More
