It`s not a review. My Wife and I are looking forward to our third visit in three years to The Apollonion. Can`t wait. We came first with my wifes sons wedding. The HOTEL STAFF couldn`t do enough for the guests, numbering 35-40. The whole experience was absolutely stunning. We went back last year on our own and had a great time.....we are really looking forward to our third visit.More
Spacious room with quiet location, good variety of food but take heed of mealtimes - it became a source of amusement (sad!) as we watched guests strolling up to the buffet door only to be turned away by the head waiter as they had not read the new buffet closing times that had been posted on the main restaurant door earlier in the day. Staff seemed less attentive as the week progressed and it was impossible to get more than two rounds of drinks in happy hour as the service was slow. That said, it was a chilled location, the entertainment was hilarious as the singer/pianist was constantly texting whilst the organ 'played itself' . The hotel was a good base, we walked to the beach area daily to eat in the restaurants overlooking the beach or to the fish bar along the stretch of sand ( or along the headland path). We had a drink in the 'English bar' but found the local Greek bars friendlier and had better views/cooler breezeMore
Beautiful quiet hotel
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful quiet location. Upon choosing a hotel we wanted somewhere peaceful, none busy and without noisy children. Somewhere where only couples could come and enjoy a relaxing holiday. This hotel was perfect for that. There were children there when we stayed but they were all extremely well mannered and polite along with all the other guests and staff which anyone can agree, warm polite staff, guests and children really do make it and enjoyable happy place. So thank you to everyone that stayed from the 22nd May 2014 until the beginning of June. I can't wait to go back, thank you so much for a pleasant, peaceful, bliss holiday. the food and the cleanliness both second to none. Nightlife was just right not too loud not to quiet, to those that complain it's not enough it is a relaxing hotel, perfect and suited for couples its not Ibiza, if you want nightlife go to Skala. Please don't change anything because everything is absolutely perfect the way it is.More
Best hotel in Kefalonia - Fantastic holiday!
We stayed at this hotel for a week in June 2015 and it was FANTASTIC, we wish we had booked for 2 weeks!
The hotel staff were great, they were all so polite and helpful. We had particularly great service from a man called Nicholas, he really went the extra mile to give the best service. He left a good impression as 6 months later we still remember his name!
The rooms are nice, we had a ground floor room with a patio area which was lovely - the room was spacious and very clean.
The pool area was beautiful, very clean and such a calm atmosphere. It was nice to eat at the lunchtime restaurant overlooking the pool (great pizzas and salads) - then head back down to the poolside afterwards.
In the evenings, the open air cinema was brilliant - good selection of films and blankets were provided to stay warm. The art gallery is a nice touch too, it's something you don't expect at a hotel but we saw some very nice locally produced artwork.
Xi beach is less than 5 minutes away, a gorgeous place to watch the sunset! We hired a car so we could explore the island, Lixouri is a short drive away and we also drove up towards the north of the island to visit Asos. We definitely recommend hiring a car if you can, it was SO lovely to have a relaxing day by the pool, then a day out exploring, then a day by the pool etc.
We can't wait to book to stay with you again soon. Thank you for a great holiday!More

Best hotel in lixouri
My husband and I visited this hotel for 2 weeks in september we had a very relaxing stay. The staff at the hotel are very nice and always had a smile for us, our room was nice and was cleaned daily, food in buffet resturant was lovely we always found plenty to eat. Hovever we don't think this should be classed as a platinum hotel. We have stayed in a couple of other platinum hotels and 4 and 5 star hotels that have offered so much more. The hotel is miles from the nearest town with just a couple of bars around so if you don't drive your stuck in the hotel as there is just 1 bus a day if it turns up at all. It costs 30 euros round trip for 2 and approx an hour to get to to other side by taxi and ferry where there is more going on. So as we didn't drive we spent most of our days relaxing by pool which would have been lovely if sun beds were of a decent quality as a platinum hotel should have been instead of well worn with iron bars sticking in your backs. My only other complaint would be that there is not much entertainment in the bar area of a night time. To us this hotel was just too quiet and too remote though it is a nice hotel and we did enjoy our stay.More
