Lassi may just be the most popular resort in Kefalonia. Modern and purpose-built, it stretches along a coastal road, making it an ideal base for exploring the rest of the island. It is within easy reach of Argostoli with its main town and square. Many tourists are attracted by the area's outstanding beaches and will be treated to a relaxing holiday of sun, sand and comfortable surroundings.

Lassi boasts the kind of beaches dreams are made of - broad, soft, pale sands, unbelievably clear water, tree-clad hills in the background and a few beach bars gracing the edges. There are two main swathes - Makris Yialos and Platis Yialos - and several sandy, secluded coves. Watersports are available on all the main beaches during high season (June-September). Snorkelling is particularly popular - you'll be welcomed to a dazzling underwater world by playful clown fish, colourful corals and perhaps, if you're lucky, a loggerhead turtle.
Lassi's restaurants cover a range of international options, and also offer the more traditional experience of dining at one of the Greek tavernas.
Lassi's main priority is to give you great days rather than late nights. With around 30 bars and restaurants, nightlife means a relaxing dinner followed by a glass of one of the many excellent Kefalonian wines as you watch the sun go down. If you do fancy a livelier evening, why not go along to a Greek night? The energy, spirit and skill of the dancers as they perform the traditional dance will amaze you.
Lassi has a small selection of supermarkets and gift shops open seven days a week but you'll find more varied shopping and a colourful daily market by heading to nearby Argostoli. Ceramic crockery and copper coffee pots make good value presents, as do embroidered and lace pieces. If you're looking to savour the taste of Kefalonia, buy some olive oil or honey - delicious, healthy reminders of your holiday.
On the outskirts of nearby Argostoli you'll find the famous Katavothri - a geological oddity where the sea is sucked into tunnels underground. You can cross the Drapanos bridge in Argostoli, or climb the hill behind Argostoli to see the Acropolis of Krani. By taking a tour of the island you will find there are many other cultural icons to experience.
