An introduction to The Stone House
The Stone House is a traditional stone building, which has been divided into two houses located next to each other. They share a delightful little pool and each has its own terraced area upon which to soak up the warm Ionian sunshine. The simple interiors make good use of natural materials in keeping with the stone facade of this lovely house, and there is a pretty garden area with views through the trees to Ithaca, which help make this restful haven a difficult spot to leave.
Bazukata is a tiny hamlet located on a hillside covered with cypress and pine trees just below our favourite off-the-beaten-track village of Matsukata, offering views across Evereti Bay to the mountainous outline of Ithaca beyond. So small and truly out-of-the-way is Bazukata that you have to venture up the hill to Manganos to stock up on essential groceries, or drive the short distance into Fiskardo, ten minutes away, for dinner.
This is a trip which you are unlikely to tire of as the pretty and bustling harbour village boasts a number of fine fish restaurants, tavernas and cafes, so if you choose you can enjoy a different dining out experience every night of your holiday.
