Seriously elegant rooms and a fabulous pool put this beachfront property ahead of the rest.
Set on a seven-kilometre stretch of Blue Flag beach, this place couldn't be in a better location. It's just a short stroll to the resort's private marina and perched on a hill next to the hotel is a ruined Byzantine tower.
Following the hotel’s recent makeover, the inside is very design-conscious. In fact the coffee-and-cream decor in the rooms wouldn't look out of place in an interiors magazine. And the addition of flatscreen TVs and DVD players makes the space even more modern.
A lot of thought has gone into the restaurants, too. In the Poseidon, they've kept things simple with marble floor, cushioned banquettes and cream linen. The wall of windows gives it an outdoors-indoors feel and themed international buffets come with a side-order of garden views. In the Veranda, things take a more contemporary line with lots of pale wood, booth-style seating and a beige-on-beige colour scheme.
Outside, it's the massive, lagoon-style pool that steals the show. Stretching along the seafront, it comes with a little island and a wooden bridge. Teamed with luxurious wooden sunloungers and canvas parasols, it's certainly easy on the eye.
As to activities, take your pick from things like scuba diving, bike riding and watersports. Or head to the spa for a massage or a session in the steam room. There's a well-equipped gym, too, complete with personal training sessions.

Set on the site of an ancient city, modern Sani lies on the wildly beautiful coast of the Kassandra peninsula in Halkidiki, about 100km from Thessaloniki airport. The Sani Beach Resort consists of the Hotel Sani Beach Club, the Porto Sani Village Suites, the Sani Asterias Suites and the Hotel Sani Beach. The complex also offers a special ‘Dine Around’ facility, allowing guests on a half board basis to enjoy half board lunch or dinner in certain restaurants (a number of these will incur a supplement which will vary depending on your chosen accommodation). The resort offers a wide range of facilities, all of which are available to guests.
