Designed to resemble a small village, this place cuts a fine figure on the beachfront. Split between small hacienda-style bungalows, the rooms are dotted around the gardens. Each one's got a secluded feel and with their creamy paintwork, terracotta-tiled roofs and tiled terraces, they've certainly got the looks.

Inside, the rooms are a vision of modern elegance. Decorated in shades of cream and blue, they use rattan and paint-washed furniture to great effect. And extras like flat-screen TVs, DVD players and bathrobes are nice touches. Junior suites, meanwhile, come with more space and private gardens. Some even have their own private pool.

As for the pool, it's a real show-stealer. Set into a roomy terrace, it's surrounded by well-tended garden and comes with sunbeds, a poolside bar and plenty of palms and parasols. There's lots on the activities score, too. They've got everything from tennis courts to a gym and a brand new spa. Not to mention quizzes, games and activities.

And last but not least comes the food. You're spoilt for choice when it comes to dining here. At the Olympos Restaurant breakfast, lunch and dinner are served buffet-style. At the Ouzerie, a traditional Greek taverna by the beach, blue and white check table cloths and sea views come as standard. And at the bar-come-restaurant, the Brasserie, it's all about light meals and snacks on the beach.

Add to the mix a clutch of bars and a brand new spa, and you can see the Sani Beach Club is worth every one of its five stars.
