This hotel is boutique Greek. Overlooking a sandy beach and private marina, it’s built from stone, marble and wood in fashionably low-rise style. What’s more, it’s set in gardens peppered with palms and rockeries, which open onto views over the Aegean.
The lobby has an air of elegance. Set in a garden annexe, it’s all exposed stonework, parlour palms and glass-topped tables. The suites take the understated route, too. Each one is finished in calm neutrals, with wrought-iron tables, inviting sofas and canvas-bowed bedroom chairs. Not to mention refinements like iPod docks, coffee machines and rattan-furnished balconies or terraces.
Luxury is pretty high on the list everywhere here. As one of the hotels in the wider Sani Resort, guests are free to use the spas at two of the neighbouring complexes. But you also get an extra bonus - you can enjoy selected spa treatments in the comfort of your own suite.
For other forms of relaxation, there’s also the main lagoon pool or the beach. The latter is reserved for Sani Asterias guests only and carpeted in silky soft sands. And should you want to raise the activity level, the Sani Resort has everything from catamarans to tennis courts.
The other big thing here is the food. For starters, there’s the Suites’ Water Restaurant. At breakfast, pull up one of the high-backed chairs in the dining room or by the pool and enjoy generous buffets. There’s all-day dining by the poolside as well and a gourmet menu for dinner. If you want a change however, take a stroll along the Sani marina. It’s packed with chic al fresco bars and restaurants.
Not only is the private beach solely for the use of Sani Asterias Suites guests, but each suite at this chic retreat has its own reserved spot - complete with sunbeds and white canvas parasols. There’s no doubt about it, this is the perfect place for some sun-drenched rest and relaxation. But that’s not the best bit. No, that honour falls to the Water Restaurant. We’re talking food so good that this waterfront eatery was voted one of Europe’s 25 best restaurants by the Financial Times in 2004. With press like that, you know you’ve hit the jackpot with Sani Asterias Suites.
