For a lively holiday within striking distance of the beach, the no-frills Panorama Studios and Apartments are spot on. There's a small pool and sun terrace outside, plus bars and restaurants on the doorstep.
If you want a simple base near Stalis beach, this place is ideal. It’s on the main beach road, just a minute’s walk from the sand. Plus, it’s in the heart of the action, with a great mix of bars, shops and restaurants on the doorstep.
In terms of facilities, the complex concentrates on the essentials. The pool sits to one side of the apartments, flanked by sunloungers and parasols. There’s a music bar here, too, with staff ready to bring your drinks and snacks direct to your sunlounger. Plus, the Panorama has its own stone-built bar right next to the beach.
On the food front, you’ve got an open-sided restaurant facing the street. It’s a casual affair where you can sit down to things like pizzas and crepes at both lunch and dinner.
As for accommodation, the studios and apartments are basic but comfortable, with whitewashed walls and good-sized balconies or terraces.

Stalis is nice, but don't stay at Hotel Panorama
Arrived early hours of the morning so did not get a good look at the place until daylight. When we did it looked okay to stay at. We went to the reception to purchase a hotel safe which had a key to open it, this cost 20 Euros, and air-con was charged at 50 Euros both for the week. As the week progressed we noticed the same dirt seemed to be present on the floor and walls in our apartment. Our old towels were not changed and left folded on the bed as if they had been replaced with clean, fresh ones. I know they were not changed because my daughter's lipstick mark was still on the inside of one of the towels after opening it out, same for the sheets, we had sand in the bed. The air-con was the biggest CON! As it was feeble and the only thing we did get from it was a cockroach when we turned it on. On the Thursday of our week we found we had been robbed from our LOCKED safe in our LOCKED room of a 115 Euro's. We were not alone as three other families had also been robbed. We complained to our Thompson Rep and were advised to go to the local police station and file a report. Four of us did this along with the owner Nicos, his translator Manos (the barman) and the Thomson Area Rep. Nicos had 25 minutes in a closed room with the Police Commissioner, when they were finished we were told to leave the building without any chance to talk to the Police Commissioner and put our side of the case across. We were obviously not happy about this and made such a fuss that the Police Commissioner came to speak to us. He informed us that they would open a new case about this. The one thing that Nicos did do was refund our money for the safe key but offered us nothing else, not even an apology!! While this was happening our partners were back at the Hotel with another Thomson Rep filling out a report for Thomson's. After this incident we asked for NO CLEANERS to enter our room because of the trust, which we had to turn them away as they still tried to enter and Nicos and Manos were quite off and rude about this with everyone involved. Clearly not taking the situation seriously. This tainted the rest of our holiday. I would strongly advise anyone going to Stalis to give Hotel Panorama a wide berth, but definitely visit the restaurant opposite called Jannis, it is wonderful and does great food!!! I just wish I had read rviews from here especially from the 23rd July 2014 as they also had the unfortunate mishap of having money also stolen from their LOCKED safe in their LOCKED room. So far we haven't had any communication from Thomson and will be putting an official complaint into them about our ruined family holiday.More

Great people and fantastic service
Travelled by myself and spend 6 nights at Hotel Panorama. Nikos and his team couldn't have been better. They were helpful, friendly and nothing was ever a problem. They made me feel like one of the family and was one of the major reasons I had such a great trip. The Hotel is in a perfect location, only 100m from the beach and surrounded by great restaurants and bars. The facilities were great, and the rooms were always spotless... Would stay there again for sure.More

A super holiday for all.
We stayed here for a week in August 2014. After reading some reviews I was a bit nervous about our stay. But absolutely no need too. I had emailed Panorama direct a week before we left to ask for a ground floor studio due to having 2 adventurous boys. Upon arrival we were shown to our room and we were pleased to find it on the ground floor and was the nearest studio to the pool. Our room was very clean and big enough for myself, husband and our boys aged 5 & 6. Our room was very clean and no insects. Basic utensils for Greece. Great staff and food in the restaurant. Great staff all round and very helpful and made time to chat and play ball games with our boys. The location was perfect for us with restaurants all around, (you could stay in Stalis a month a eat in a different restaurant every day). There was no need for me to worry about staying here. We would love to visit again.More

You get what you pay for
We stayed at the studios in august 2014 and was so worried about the bad reviews we just didn't know what to expect, we were greeted happily at 6ish in the morning by the owner which was a good start. Yes we did encounter cockroaches a few times over an 2 week period, I found the beds quite hard as did some of the other guests staying there and yes the towels and bed linen were only changed 2 a week but it's a cheap holiday that's what you should expect anyway! We had 2 lovely weeks there, the staff were all wonderful and happy to talk to us anytime, they cooked some lovely food as well. The location is fantastic with lots of places to choose from from left to right and the transfer is a short and sweet one. This place is not worse than any other cheap & cheerful holiday place you may have had before.More
We loved it!!
We stayed at hotel panorama at the beginning of September and we loved it. Hotel is what you pay for really, its basic but has everything you need. We had our room cleaned daily ans bed sheets changed twice while we stayed for a week and had fresh towels everyday. All staff were friendly, lovely and welcoming. Bar staff were amazing.. helped out with everything and even sat and chatted for an hour. Thomson reps were lovely we had our rep and the hotel next door who were always happy to help and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommened the 4x4 moutain trip which you can do, get a good insight to crete, have such a laugh and lovely foos which is encluded. Location is amazing as you have everything you need for a holiday, pool at hotel, beach across the road, bars each way you come out and a couple of supermarkets that sell more english food than expected and reasonably priced. Good for younger couples as malia is a bus or taxi away costing â¬7 in taxi so close enough to party but far away so you dont have any noise or problems. Hotel food is nice but there are lots of other lovely places to eat. I absolutley loved this hotel, had everything we needed and had no problems what so ever!! We will defo be returning to this hotel at some point.More
