For a lively holiday within striking distance of the beach, the no-frills Panorama Studios and Apartments are spot on. There's a small pool and sun terrace outside, plus bars and restaurants on the doorstep.
If you want a simple base near Stalis beach, this place is ideal. It’s on the main beach road, just a minute’s walk from the sand. Plus, it’s in the heart of the action, with a great mix of bars, shops and restaurants on the doorstep.
In terms of facilities, the complex concentrates on the essentials. The pool sits to one side of the apartments, flanked by sunloungers and parasols. There’s a music bar here, too, with staff ready to bring your drinks and snacks direct to your sunlounger. Plus, the Panorama has its own stone-built bar right next to the beach.
On the food front, you’ve got an open-sided restaurant facing the street. It’s a casual affair where you can sit down to things like pizzas and crepes at both lunch and dinner.
As for accommodation, the studios and apartments are basic but comfortable, with whitewashed walls and good-sized balconies or terraces.
Initially, we were panicking about going here having read some really bad reviews. Our experience was nothing like this and those negative reviews couldn't have been further from the truth. This isn't a 5* hotel and it is in Greece so people should have more realistic expectations. Some people love to moan!
We were made to feel very welcome from the minute we got there by Eva, who was also around to help us throughout the holiday if we needed it. Andreas and Manos at the bar/ restaurant were friendly and always made time to see how we were doing. The food at the restaurant was good and reasonably priced.
The rooms are basic but clean and have everything you could need, unless you're planning on holding a fancy dinner party?! We didn't use a safe but locked our money in our suitcase and this was fine. The rooms were cleaned well every day and the balcony was spacious enough for the two of us.
We were on the second floor with NO cockroaches. We spoke to a number of other people staying at the panorama studios and everyone seemed to be having a great holiday, no one spoke of money being stolen or cockroaches!
The pool was nice and clean and the studios are in an ideal location with a good selection of bars and restaurants- not too lively, but enough to keep you entertained. The beach is two minutes walk away (if that) and is really lovely. It was windy on the first day we were there and we missed the wind when it went!
Please do not be put off by negative reviews, they were in no way representative of the wonderful holiday we had in Stalis. Thank you to everyone at the Panaroma studios for making us feel so welcome. We already miss it!

Mold and limescale
We booked a stay for 1 week. The few pros are that the location is good, access to the beach is great and the people were friendly. However, the cons were so terrible, we just went to a different place for the last 2 days.
The room was shoddy. To start with it was a really small studio, with a tiny balcony. That however was the least of the problems. The bathroom had mold in many places and the shower-head had limescale (picture attached). The kitchen was not really a place where you could make a decent meal, the draw with cutlery had some kind of water damage that made us stay away. Also, the slats of the bed were loose and moved around, and so we had to adjust their position every night.
We tried to change the room for a couple of days, all that did was make the cleaner be very angry with us. There might be a newer section of the hotel that has better rooms, so if you do book, pray that you get a good room.More

Glad we ignored the bad reviews.
Like others before us we undertook this holiday to the Panorama with more than a little trepidation after reading some of the reviews, but within a couple of hours had relaxed into it. Ok; it's not the Hilton or The Ritz, it's a Greek apartment complex and having holidayed in many of the same around the Greek Islands I can truthfully say that it's up there with the best of them. If the earlier complaints were justified and (dare I say it) completeley unbiased and honest, then 'huge respect' to the owners and the team at The Panorama, because they've really worked as a team and pulled off a fantastic improvement... The rooms are spacious, and were cleaned properly every day we were there. The outdoor areas were always very clean and tidy, the pool was inviting. The attached restaurant/snack bar/bar was never really busy but what little we had there was always good and reasonably priced. The 'private' beach was small but clean and tidy and well stocked with sunbeds and parasols and the little beach bar supplied both food and drink. Drinks even delivered to your sunbed.... All of the staff were pleasant and friendly, very chatty and helpful particularly Manos and Andreas, who seemed to work 24 hours a day 7 days a week.. Downsides?? One loo roll per week (but then these are self catering apartments not hotel rooms) so buy some very early in your stay. The bathrooms are of the standard 'Greek wetroom' variety (not to everybodies taste) but acceptable. and the position next to the village church ensures an early alarm call every Sunday morning at 7.00 am.. All in all a very nice place. Discount some of the earlier very bad reviews and give it a go, if the people there continue doing what they did whilst we were there you'll have a great time.More

Stalis is nice, but don't stay at Hotel Panorama
Arrived early hours of the morning so did not get a good look at the place until daylight. When we did it looked okay to stay at. We went to the reception to purchase a hotel safe which had a key to open it, this cost 20 Euros, and air-con was charged at 50 Euros both for the week. As the week progressed we noticed the same dirt seemed to be present on the floor and walls in our apartment. Our old towels were not changed and left folded on the bed as if they had been replaced with clean, fresh ones. I know they were not changed because my daughter's lipstick mark was still on the inside of one of the towels after opening it out, same for the sheets, we had sand in the bed. The air-con was the biggest CON! As it was feeble and the only thing we did get from it was a cockroach when we turned it on.
On the Thursday of our week we found we had been robbed from our LOCKED safe in our LOCKED room of a 115 Euro's. We were not alone as three other families had also been robbed. We complained to our Thompson Rep and were advised to go to the local police station and file a report. Four of us did this along with the owner Nicos, his translator Manos (the barman) and the Thomson Area Rep. Nicos had 25 minutes in a closed room with the Police Commissioner, when they were finished we were told to leave the building without any chance to talk to the Police Commissioner and put our side of the case across. We were obviously not happy about this and made such a fuss that the Police Commissioner came to speak to us. He informed us that they would open a new case about this. The one thing that Nicos did do was refund our money for the safe key but offered us nothing else, not even an apology!! While this was happening our partners were back at the Hotel with another Thomson Rep filling out a report for Thomson's. After this incident we asked for NO CLEANERS to enter our room because of the trust, which we had to turn them away as they still tried to enter and Nicos and Manos were quite off and rude about this with everyone involved. Clearly not taking the situation seriously. This tainted the rest of our holiday. I would strongly advise anyone going to Stalis to give Hotel Panorama a wide berth, but definitely visit the restaurant opposite called Jannis, it is wonderful and does great food!!! I just wish I had read rviews from here especially from the 23rd July 2014 as they also had the unfortunate mishap of having money also stolen from their LOCKED safe in their LOCKED room.
So far we haven't had any communication from Thomson and will be putting an official complaint into them about our ruined family holiday.More

Great Location,Good Prices,Lovely People
After reading bad reviews I was really worried about going to panorama and had even thought about cancelling the holiday. How glad I was I didn't. It was one of the best holidays we have had.We travelled with 4 teenagers and they loved the pool and easy access to the beach just across the road. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The apartments are basic but functional. The hotel is ideally situated along the long road through Stalis consisting of shops and bars and restaurants. There is a bakers nearly opposite and two supermarkets close by.Every guest we spoke to had shared our initial concerns after reading bad reviews but were really happy they had chosen the hotel .There are a number of good restaurants. We particularly liked the Roma restaurant right along the end of the straight for value and good service.Food was really reasonably priced and the supermarkets stocked a lot of english foods so don't worry about taking loads. You must try Waffles 4 u just down the road amazing.....The only negative thing was there was no pool table or tennis tennis which would have given the kids more to do and we had to vacate our rooms at 10.00am on departure day which if you have a night flight is not ideal, although you can rent a room for a charge.I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and we had a great holiday.More
