White Palace

With fantastic sea views, 2 infinity pools and a private beach, The White Palace has relaxation down to a fine art.

The White Palace is set on the seafront in Pigianos Kambos, so sweeping sea views are a big part of its appeal. It’s cocooned by jasmine and bougainvillea-filled gardens, and underlined by a private beach.

The hotel’s design is minimalist and contemporary, with all-white décor and accents of turquoise. Bars with glass-walled terraces make the most of the sea views, as do the two swimming pools.

Relaxing and friendly

Booked this hotel as a last minute deal in June and we were not disappointed. The hotel was just what we needed, relaxing, quiet with friendly staff. The location for us was ideal, lots of restaurants close by for dinner which gave us a good choice. The hotel pool was large with the usual sun loungers around it. It was very relaxing to lay in the sun and the cool off in the pool. We found this hotel most relaxing and there seemed to be a good mix of younger people and older people staying in the hotel. As other reviewers have said the management were so friendly and often took an interest in our day.More

As great as it looks

Have just returned from a week all inclusive here booked via Thomson. On arrival at the hotel we we totally wowed by the look of the hotel - the all white styling and amazing views over the pool and sea from the reception area is breathtaking. The week just got better and better. Despite it being near the end of the season, the staff were still full of energy, enthusiasm and very friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was very tasty, lots of variety, and fresh. Two of us didn't eat meat and there was great choice most meals, except on the fish-themed night which was a little more tricky. However, the bread and salads were so fresh and gorgeous, we happily filled up on that. Drinks and cocktails were lovely, with very generous servings of alcohol. We ate at the Pico D'India pool bar a couple of lunchtimes and for crepes and food there was lovely - service from the staff here and at the beach bar was to be particularly commended - even after one visit they recognised us and remembered favourite drinks. There was something on each evening for entertainment - the external entertainers were much better than the in-house team. It wasn't to our taste always, but we enjoyed just sitting around the pool with drinks or coffee and people watching. The bus to Rethymnon is only 1.2 Euros each way and seems to run more often than the 30 minute service advertised.- don't forget to buy tickets from the hotel shop before boarding. We also went on a couple of trips on the little yellow train - hotel will organise and they are great value for seeing local sights in the mountains - we went to the Nunnery and on the Gorge walk - both highly recommended. The beach is small but clean and we had no problem finding beds. Sea is great to swim in, although towards the end of our week (in mid October) became too rough All-inclusive was really good value for what we paid. We had two garden facing rooms and despite other reviews on this site, they were lovely. Clean and fresh, very comfortable beds and the fridge and safe in the room were welcome. The bathroom was fine, only slight drawback was the shower curtain didn't always keep water off the floor as the shower is over the bath at a slightly odd angle - this is a really minor niggle. I'd eagerly return to this hotel and the area -fantastic holiday.More

great chill out hotel

stayed here this last week 13/10/14 for 1 week. the hotel is great and ticks all boxes on the rest and relaxation front. all inclusive package is very good and we were treated very well by all staff. the rooms are a little tired and the bathrooms are looking very old now but clean and functional. the bars and pool areas are very nice and the staff are friendly. cocktails are great and food is tasty and good selection. good bits. service generally, drinks, food, pools, sitting areas. not so good bits. tired rooms, garden rooms you get quite a lot of road noise. the a la carte service was quite bad and could be improved. we had to ask for drinks and bread rolls as they forgot. then we got no sweet or coffee!!!! all to familiar towels on loungers but they do ask people not to do this. all things considered though I would love to go back. And may well do so next year. we were made to feel very welcome which is just what you want from your holidayMore

Quality hotel

An amazing hotel and quality that I just wasn't expecting. The coach from the airport was only an hour and although the beach front location amazing there isn't much else around unless you taxi further afield. I travel every year on my own and this is the best hotel I've stayed in. There's plenty of peace and quiet during the day and easy to find a sunbed or corner of the beach. The pool side is fantastic and so clean and more than one you can use. Probably different in high season. Food excellent and staff wonderful. The bar and terrace as the sun was going down the best part of the day and cocktails amazing. Only downside was my room. Not great and at the back of the hotel. Shower clearly broken on arrival which seemed poor. I paid a hefty single room supplement but felt like I had an inferior room. I'd go back in a heartbeat but only to a seafacing room. Was a package with Thomson and worth noting the holiday rep who was excellent.More
