White Palace

With fantastic sea views, 2 infinity pools and a private beach, The White Palace has relaxation down to a fine art.

The White Palace is set on the seafront in Pigianos Kambos, so sweeping sea views are a big part of its appeal. It’s cocooned by jasmine and bougainvillea-filled gardens, and underlined by a private beach.

The hotel’s design is minimalist and contemporary, with all-white décor and accents of turquoise. Bars with glass-walled terraces make the most of the sea views, as do the two swimming pools.

great chill out hotel

stayed here this last week 13/10/14 for 1 week. the hotel is great and ticks all boxes on the rest and relaxation front. all inclusive package is very good and we were treated very well by all staff. the rooms are a little tired and the bathrooms are looking very old now but clean and functional. the bars and pool areas are very nice and the staff are friendly. cocktails are great and food is tasty and good selection. good bits. service generally, drinks, food, pools, sitting areas. not so good bits. tired rooms, garden rooms you get quite a lot of road noise. the a la carte service was quite bad and could be improved. we had to ask for drinks and bread rolls as they forgot. then we got no sweet or coffee!!!! all to familiar towels on loungers but they do ask people not to do this. all things considered though I would love to go back. And may well do so next year. we were made to feel very welcome which is just what you want from your holidayMore

Quality hotel

An amazing hotel and quality that I just wasn't expecting. The coach from the airport was only an hour and although the beach front location amazing there isn't much else around unless you taxi further afield. I travel every year on my own and this is the best hotel I've stayed in. There's plenty of peace and quiet during the day and easy to find a sunbed or corner of the beach. The pool side is fantastic and so clean and more than one you can use. Probably different in high season. Food excellent and staff wonderful. The bar and terrace as the sun was going down the best part of the day and cocktails amazing. Only downside was my room. Not great and at the back of the hotel. Shower clearly broken on arrival which seemed poor. I paid a hefty single room supplement but felt like I had an inferior room. I'd go back in a heartbeat but only to a seafacing room. Was a package with Thomson and worth noting the holiday rep who was excellent.More

Lovely holiday on a beautiful island

We have just returned from a week in this hotel. What a superb hotel. We stayed in a shared pool room which opened out onto one of the pools (not the infinity one). It was a lovely clean and nicely decorated room and we loved sitting out by the pool in the evening. The posher rooms are by the infinity pool - we had a swim in it but the sun beds round that pool are for the habitants of the posh block - fair enough. The best thing about the hotel is the restaurant staff - they are absolute stars. They work so hard and try to keep everyone happy. So professional - I hope they get credit for that. We went half board. We had the option to go fully inclusive but unless you intend drinking a lot (cocktails are yum!) or eating throughout the day, half board is fine. The buffet breakfasts and dinners were enough for us. Delicious and fresh food selection - the best buffet meals I have had on holiday. I am a vegetarian and had plenty of choice. My only gripe is sometimes the dishes didn't have a label and I had to keep my fingers crossed that the vegetarian looking ones didn't have meat or fish in. A little V would be helpful. This is a tiny criticism as I was in vegetarian food heaven. The breads were also yummy. We hired a car and visited loads of beautiful beaches. When the weather was cloudy by the hotel, we found that it was opposite in the south - a short drive really. I do agree about the towels on the sun beds though. And we went off season so must be a nightmare in the summer. This could be easily rectified by making it clear that beds cannot be reserved before 10am unless you are sitting/lying on them and removing towels from beds that are unoccupied before 10am. Much fairer. We saw families reserve loads of beds first thing and the not use them until way after lunch. It was a wonderful holiday and a wonderful hotel. Thank you to the hotel and Thomson and Michael our nice rep.More

Almost, but not quite, perfect

We booked a week here for my birthday, via Thomson travel agents, on the Grecotel’s all-inclusive package (PP). There’s no doubt, it’s a beautiful hotel, that’s kept spotlessly clean and staffed by people who can’t do enough for you. However, we too arrived to find we’d been overbooked and our sea view room wouldn’t be available for 2 days. Going off other reviews, this seems to be a regular occurrence, and I don’t believe for one moment that Thomson isn’t aware of what’s going on. The room we were given initially was perfectly adequate, but not what we’d paid extra for. There were nice touches with a bottle of wine, bowl of fruit, and a plate of sandwiches as we’d arrived after the restaurant had shut. The problem was not so much the room, but the fact that you couldn’t unpack. And the fact that they (Grecotel and Thomson) wait until you get there to tell you. Anyway, we then moved to our sea view in one of the refurbished rooms and it was lovely. More wine and fruit, comfy super king sized bed, and a huge walk in shower separate from the bathroom. The food in the main restaurant (buffet) was very good, with plenty of choice and a special mention to an excellent salad bar. Breakfasts were particularly good, with a wide range of cold and hot choices, and served to a very civilised hour of 1000 o’clock. We had our evening meal in the a al carte restaurant for by birthday, which was excellent. We were not charged any extra for the non-PP food and were given an fine (free) bottle of wine as compensation for the overbooking. The service in both the pool and Sunset Lounge bars were a bit hit and miss, but overall quite acceptable. They have an excellent choice of drinks and many cocktails available to PP guests. Mr Madcat and I worked our way through most of the menu! I don’t know whether I’d go back to the White Palace (been there, done that), but I’d recommend it if you’re not fussed about a sea view.More
