Recently spent 2 weeks at Mike's hotel on a bed and breakfast basis in one of the superior apartments. Accomodation and hospitality were excellent. Staff work extremely hard and nothing is too much trouble. Food very good value although a more varied breakfast would be nice. Bus stop right outside the hotel. Would definitely recommend.More
Total chill out...
If you want to relax and enjoy I would most definitely recommend mikes hotel and apartments. If you're the type that wants to party stay somewhere else. You may get bored lol.. We really enjoyed our 2 week stay here. Just what the doctor ordered. A real family run hotel...i say this as I've stayed at other "family run" hotels before and they just didn't live up to my expectations. Mikes however did. A warm welcome from Manos at a swift check in. The welcome continued the whole time. Great 1 bedroom apartment with limited sea view we booked. Great size. Cleaned every day bar Sunday's. Beds were quite firm but as we're used to it we both slept well. Plenty of storage. Nice bathroom with the best shower I've had in Greece. Powerful with hot water always. Hairdryer in the bedroom. 2 balconies. I to sit out on, the other to hang towels/washing out on. Kitchenette- fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, 2 ring hob, loads of storage. Plates cups utensils etc. Tv with world news and we found a film most nights. There's also a DVD player so bring some dvds if needed. Free WiFi. Excellent connection everywhere. Free air conditioning. Breakfast is served up at the hotel. About a 5 minute walk. The ground is a bit rough and a bit steep towards the hotel. No problem for us though. Good choice of breakfast. Continental. If you're on b&b you can get a cooked breakfast for €3 each. You'll meet Sophia at breakfast/Dinner. Again very welcoming and helpful. We had dinner here 3 times during our stay. Lovely food. Great prices too. We spent quite a lot of our time around the pool. The pergodas were the best! So relaxing. Plenty of sunbeds for everyone. No need to run and reserve at the crack of dawn. Joy lol. Great staff running the pool bar. Maria and her team work very hard delivering great service to all the guests. The pool is quite cold but as they say once you're in you're in. Large enough for the amount of guests. You can also use the beds directly across the road on the beach. My first time sunbathing on grass. Much cooler on the old trotters. We'd see Mike most mornings either cutting it or watering it. I think he loves his tractor! The whole team work extremely hard. From an outsider it really works like clockwork. Impressive. Bus stop directly across the road from the hotel going frequently to chania. A must . Takes about 40mins to get there. €2.60 each way. It stops at a couple of other places too. Maleme itself is a very quiet place. A few restaurants and bars. Large supermarket on the top road going left out of the front of the hotel. A bit cheaper if you're buying a lot for the apartment. There is a pharmacy, not very well stocked though. Also a doctor and a dentist in the village. If we visit this part of Crete again I know where I'll be staying. Thank you so much xx More
We had two weeks here in July as two families with two teenage boys. This hotel lives up to every excellent review I had read before going there. The hotel is lovely but it's definitely the family feel that makes this place a true gem!! The family and staff work so hard to look after you. If you have stumbled across this one like I did, book it now because they fill up fast as so many people return each year! We will definitely be back!!More
Stayed here 4-18 August 2017. Extremely pleasant stay. The staff cannot do enough for you. Excellent pool with plenty of sunbeds. Malame is quiet but there's a few local restaurants where the food is of a high standard. Too quiet? Get on the bus (which are frequent) and visit the neighbouring town or Platanias. A visit to Chania is a must, plenty of restaurants and shops. Thank you to Manos, Sophia, Maria, Katherine. Would visit again and highly recommend.More

We are off home today and can honestly say we have had a fantastic time. As a family of three with a 14 year old, we have been made to feel very welcome as it's our first visit. Overlooking the sea, we stayed in a limited sea view apartment which was beautiful, cleaned every day apart from Sunday. All guests, if you want to mix, you can, you don't it's not a problem. No sunbed grappling at 7am, you can sleep in and still get one, even if it's overlooking the sea. The staff Katherine, Maria, manos are so friendly and hardworking, nothing is too much trouble, and the pool bar is run with a smile, which is so genuine, that it makes you feel relaxed. Our son must have cleared them out of chocolate croissants! You pay your bill at the end of the day, they know who you are within the hour. WiFi everywhere, even on the beach, which was a godsend for our son,and others who like to use iPads etc around the pool. You could walk off to the beach, leave your bags and return without worrying. We would definitely recommend, return in the future. Deserves it's trip advisor ratings. Yammass!!!! Lisa, Darren,Sam.More
