Phaistos Villa

When the owner Michalis saw the land that the villas are built on, he knew immediately that it was perfect, with great views, surrounded by open countryside, close to Kamilari and spacious enough to house 5 villas comfortably without any villas encroaching on the privacy of the others. We have selected two villas from the group for their prominent locations; each has the living area on the first floor to take advantage of the views, which are spectacular - overlooking the hills right down to the sea. The villas stand out, with their whitewashed walls and the pretty stonework around the windows and doors, against the olive trees and the patchwork of green and yellow fields that typify the southern Cretan landscape. Situated near the Messara Plain, which is well known for its fruit and vegetable produce, there are many hidden beaches and small villages in the surrounding areas waiting to be explored.

The gardens are landscaped and provide a colourful backdrop to the private pools situated to the side of the villas, giving easy access from the ground floor double and twin bedrooms and patio area. Sunloungers and parasols are scattered around the pool for cooling off in the hot afternoons.

Inside, Michalis has lovingly created a harmony of local stone and comfortable contemporary decor, the stone fireplace and stone arches giving the whole place a traditional flavour with a twist of all the modern amenities needed to make a carefree holiday.
