Teaming a peaceful rural setting with an impressive pool scene, the Villa Aktea is a great base for unwinding.
The Villa Aktea is set on the outskirts of Hersonissos, so you can look forward to lots of peace and quiet. That said, it’s close to all the essentials – the town centre is less than a 15-minute walk away, and the beach is just a bit further.
If it’s relaxation you’re after, though, you don’t need to venture far. At the property you’ll find a circular swimming pool, and there’s a smaller one for little guests, too. Come lunchtime, meanwhile, there’s a terrace and a barbecue for a bit of al fresco dining. Best of all, the villa is bordered by countryside, so you can enjoy the views as you unwind.
The property itself reflects its rustic location, so expect cobbled stone walls, terracotta roof tiles and wooden balconies in terms of exteriors. Inside, you’ll find all the necessities, like air-conditioning and a fully-equipped kitchen. Plus, there are nice-to-haves like a CD and DVD player.

The focal point of Hersonissos’ nightlife is the attractive harbour area, teeming with waterside bars and restaurants, where you can enjoy anything from ‘moussaka’ to Mexican. However, if you prefer a more relaxed pace of life, you won’t be completely out of place in Hersonissos. The charming Old Town has quaint narrow streets, lined with friendly tavernas, while the villages of Piskopiano and Koutouloufari are perfect places to sit in a café, enjoy the traditional Cretan atmosphere and take in the magnificent views of the sea.
