Had this hotel on a late deal, very nice staff room clean nice food and just far enough from the crazy nightlife , you could get to one of the little villages in about 15 minutes on foot, pool was nice to they did many activities , the animation staff were really good not in your face, but so nice, weather was amazing, had a fab time would come backMore
Exceeded our expectations
King Minos is well positioned on the edge of the resort We were in a bungalow with sea-view room 605. Pleasant walk through under pass on to beach. Visit the museum on the beach (old Crete) Recommend trip to Knossos and Spinalonga. The manager through to cleaners all were friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff brilliant and so cheerful throughout our stay. Food excellent. Always found a sunbed next the lovely pool. Overall found it difficult to find fault.More
Hersonissos - King Minos Palace hotel
Not our usual holiday (stopping in a hotel) we like to do our own thing & not be tied to 'times' ....... However we must say this was the most chilled out holiday we have had for a long time! The staff were great! Always there & ready to help but not 'in your face' just as we like. The food was fabulous - even the fussiest of people would have no problem ,having a choice of traditional Greek & continental food. Re: sunbeds, the first people around the pool were English even though most of the guests where German! Animation team - Kevin & Renata are brilliant, encouraging all guests to join in the pool activities & organising evening entertainment & I'm sure if the management would allow them, they could really expand & bring more to the evening entertainment programme ! Being English ,we felt on the evenings when there was nothing planned ,the German guests had control of the TV & just wanted to watch football ð© We would recommend this hotel as it is on the edge of Hersonissos & if you are like us & enjoy a walk, there is a fantastic bar on the beach which is also a camping site. The villages of Koutoulafari & Piskopiano are a 10-15 min walk up the hill,we went there every day/night & are a must visit - beautiful, traditional villages ð xMore

I stayed at this hotel for two weeks with my husband and we really enjoyed our stay. Positives The staff are all wonderful! Special mention for receptionist Irenie, head waiter Georgio, waiters Georgio and Stella. Beds were memory foam and very comfortable. Air con worked well and was free. No problem with noise. Food really good, varied options each day. Gluten free bread was always made available and the chef gave me advice each day on which options I could have. Very clean. Good sized bathroom Wonderful sea views Pool was very clean Really interesting Cretan museum within easy walking distance. Very cheap and full of activity, with tasty treats frequently passed round. Even tried grape treading. Negatives The decor and soft furnishings are all pretty worn and dated. The balconies are small and the plastic chairs have certainly seen better days. Insufficient sun loungers. Had to pay for beds most days as it was usually full by about 9 30. The beds, when you're lucky enough to get one are also worn and not very comfortable. Steep climb up to the hotel from the road and then lots of steps to get into the reception. (Help is given with bags but very difficult for people with any mobility issues. Spa is expensive and in wooden huts outside. Would we go again...maybe. Mostly because of the brilliant staff. More
Nice, pleasant and especially affordable
We bought the vacation in a bundle with the flight, so it is relatively difficult to estimate the exact price, but nevertheless was very good. The rooms are large and clean, unfortunately, partly are also a little old: especially in the bathroom. Unfortunately, we discovered the wood door of the room can be easily opened without the key. The meals are tasty and the dinner quite exceeds the 4 star standard, but unfortunately no drinks are included in the price and for the meal water, you are charged with 2,90 EUR per liter. The staff is mainly helpful and kindly, nevertheless there is a strange habit for the dinner: they does not accept the short pants for men, even the decent ones. This approach made me feel a little like in a soviet gulag. The swimming pool is very large and very deep on one side ( 2.80 m) which make it very attractive (at least for me). The kids' swimming pool is also nice for them. The garden is large and probably tries to simulate the Minotaur's labyrinth. Bottom line, we appreciate the efforts of the management and staff to offer 4 star services at acceptable prices.More
