After reading all the raving reviews on this hotel we felt confident that it would be excellent. However, we were highly disappointed. The room was extremely basic and the bed were very hard and we had two single beds after being booked in to a double. The food was poor and didn't taste of anything, with the head waiter being very rude and inconsiderate to us. This may have been because we were the only English people there and all the rest were Germans. Therefore, the hotel was very geared up to them rather than us and we couldn't join in with any of the activities because of this. For us, the location was not very good as the town is quite mainstream and tacky. The beach was always packed full of sunbeds and star beach was more like malia's sister and the music blared until early morning. However, there were some lovely quaint villages in the mountains which made our trip much more pleasant. Koutouloufari was a much nicer place and we would highly recommend.More
Amazing hotel and staff
The hotel was a pleasure to stay in, i cant fault a thing. The staff were very friendly and the animation team were amazing, they had plenty activities for all ages and all staff and animators went out of there way to talk to everyone. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone! I will definitely be returning to this hotel in the near future.More
Great hotel in picturesque location, staff very welcoming and helpful.
Lovely room, with great views from restaurant. Staff friendly and accommodating. Pool and poolside entertainment was great. A bit of a walk down hill to shops etc, but who cared. Enjoyed our short stay, but needed more time in Crete to enjoy what it has to offer. Enjoyed the 'hop-on, hop-off' train trip to view the local area and had a great visit to the old town.More
Great holiday destination
My friends and I spent a week here celebrating 50 years of friendship and we could not have picked a better place. The staff were very friendly and made a big fuss of us. The hotel was very comfortable and the food was lovely with lots of variety.More

Not a single thing to recommend.
Had a one night stay on 12th May. In order to be as brief as possible, I'll just bullet point all my comments. So in no particular order. - 2 Euro WiFi charge. BUT can only be used in lobby or around pool. It's 2017 - free, full coverage wifi should be mandatory now! - Only had smart shorts as I had to travel light. The contemptuous look up and down 3 times I got from the maitre d' was cringe-worthy. Was seated outside but when I came back with my starter, they had seated another couple there and I had to move indoors to a 'discreet', partially hidden table. - Had a beer with my dinner. Was told I had to pay cash - couldn't charge it. When I went off to get desert, the server followed me and asked for the payment. Had to go all the way to my room in to get the money before finishing my dinner. - Maitre d' was careful to ensure I had my 'discreet' table at breakfast. - Breakfast stopped at 9:30! This is a holiday hotel, not a boarding school. - No pool towels available. Just used a room towel. - Was on a cycling holiday. Asked to be able to store my bike somewhere, was told I could only use the car park as all rooms and areas were used. Its a BIG hotel, there had to be somewhere secure or at least away from passing eyes available for an expensive bike. - Room was over the pool bar. No big deal I thought - except it became the main bar at night. Music went on till 11pm, loud chatter went on till 1. Phoned reception at 11:30 and was told I could move rooms the next night! - Access to the beach was via an underpass which was only around 4 feet high. Looked more like a water runaway than a pedestrian access. - Only sign to be able to find the hotel was on top of the building. Even at the bottom of the road up to it, there's no signage. There's probably more but it's just annoying me all over again writing this. Haven't hated a hotel this much in a long time. So many great hotels in that part of Crete but thought I'd treat myself to a decent 4 star with great reviews. Big mistake. On a positive note, the wooden furnishings in the room were all brand new.....so can happily justify my one star rating!More
