An introduction to Villa Sophie
From the coast at Istron, a small side road climbs up high into the mountains through the village of Kalo Chorio, past pine forests and olive groves, to the small hamlet of Prina. Situated on the edge of the village, Maria-Emmanuella, Sophie are truly lovely, and set in a ravishing rural location. The villas ooze charm from every pore of their thick, natural stone walls, with inspired details offering plenty to entertain the eye. The main focus of Maria-Emmanuella in the large living area is the gorgeous stone fireplace and an old pair of cast-iron gates divides the lounge from the open-plan kitchen and dining area. Arranged over one floor, Maria-Emmanuella has two spacious twin bedrooms with direct access to the extensive, stone-flagged terrace, while Villa Sophie has one double and one twin bedroom situated on the first floor.
Large picture windows flood the interiors with light and allow the beguiling, rural panorama to be admired even from inside. From the terrace, steps lead down to the spring-fed swimming pools set amidst a delightful orchard of grapevines, olive and pomegranate trees. From here, you have a lovely view up to the tiny hilltop church of Agios Timios Stavros on the other side of the valley. The nearest, very welcoming, taverna is situated within walking distance. A wider choice of eating places is available near the sandy beaches of Istron And Kalo Chorio, a 15-minute drive away.
