The moment you see this place you'll know you're in for something special. Exuding contemporary glamour, the hotel is a design piece in itself. Think gleaming glass panels, natural stone terraces and illuminated lagoons which swirl their way around the 70,000 square metre complex. In fact, the whole place feels more like a Venetian palace than a Greek hotel.
And the facilities here are definitely fit for a king. Outside, the Olympic-sized seawater pool steals the show. Surrounded by olive trees, stone paths and fragrant gardens, it couldn't be in a more serene spot. There's a poolside brasserie, too, where you can enjoy a morning coffee or a light lunch while looking out over the sea.
The rest of the hotel's dining scene is just as impressive. There are five restaurants in total, all serving up different specialities. The main eatery dishes up Mediterranean buffets in a setting that's every bit as special as the food. Its low-level seating and floor-to-ceiling glass windows look out over the lagoons, giving the impression that it's floating on water. There are four a la cartes here, too, specialising in seafood, Oriental, international and Cretan cuisine.
The rooms, meanwhile, are the essence of style and comfort. Decked out in a palette of white and creams, they've got a trendy, minimalist feel to them. Extravagant touches come in the form of padded suede headboards and music speakers in the bathrooms, as well as the latest technology like LCD TVs and wireless internet connections. All rooms have large balconies with huge glass doors, too, so you can make the most of the views.
