The Corfu Palace teams sea views with private gardens. Plus, it’s within touching distance of Corfu’s old town.
The Corfu Palace has one of the best settings in Corfu Town. Overlooking Garitsa Bay and set back from the waterfront in private gardens, it’s central, yet peaceful. You’ve got spectacular sea views from its front terraces, plus the cobbled lanes of the old town are just a five-minute walk along the esplanade.

Step through to the hotel’s entrance and you’re greeted by potted palms, gold pillars and a sweeping marble staircase. Expect the same understated elegance in the bedrooms, which are kitted out with pretty chairs and floral drapes. Balconies or terraces with sea views complete the picture.

At mealtimes, you’ll find a selection of pan-global cuisine. Breakfast is a buffet affair, while dinner sees bow-tied waiters serving set menu dishes. You can opt to dine on the outside terrace, too. And you'll also find the island's only casino right on your doorstep.

Your guide to Corfu Town, Corfu

“Tangled streets, shuttered Venetian houses, a rich culture and a dash of British influence – Corfu Town seduces every which way.”

If a town can be all things to everyone, Corfu Town comes very, very close. Colourful and buzzing, this charismatic capital’s one of the Greek islands’ best, simply because it has so many different faces.
Enter the old town with its narrow streets of faded Venetian houses and you could be in Italy. Here, as well as countless jewellers and carpet shops, you’ll find loads of stores plying Corfu’s prized olive oil and sweet honey.
You’ll also find a host of landmarks, from the impressive St. Spyridon church to the eucalyptus-shaded Esplanade, with its park and cricket ground. Linger here at the Liston, an arcaded terrace of cafes, and watch the world go by over a cooling ginger beer. Nearby, you’ll discover two imposing fortresses and some fascinating places to potter around. Make time for the atmospheric Archeological museum with its Mycean and classical collections, and the icon-filled Byzantine museum.
For modern retail therapy, the new town’s packed with upscale jewellers and designer good stores ranged along wide, elegant streets. It’s great for an afternoon’s moseying, especially with its pavement cafes providing welcome pitstops.
When you fancy time out, the capital’s small, sandy Mon Repos beach is good for chilling for a while. For full-on beach days though, hop on a bus to any one of the lovely bays along the coastline.
Corfu Town takes night owls seriously, too. By sunset, its bars and restaurants swing into action serving pre-dinner ouzo and some of the freshest seafood you’ll ever taste. Up for more? Then grab a cab to the north of town where you’ll find more than enough music bars and nightclubs to keep you swaying ‘til dawn.
