Louis Family Resort

Flanked by acres of greenery and right on the beach, the Louis Family Resort showcases the best of Corfu’s scenery.

The Louis Family Resort is in a great spot for families. It’s set in spacious gardens, which means you’ve got room to stretch out. On top of that, you’re only ever steps from a small shingle beach.

Outside there are 3 pools. In terms of where to eat and drink, you’ve got a buffet place and an Asian à la carte. This hotel is part of our Thomson Family Resorts range, too, so there’s plenty on offer for children.

A bit dated

Got back from this hotel last week. After spending time at the Louis Grand in may, we thought that we would try this hotel, being part of the Louis brand, I can say that it was not a patch on the grand, rooms were dated as was the hotel, with furniture which looked like it was from the 80s and very tatty. The only updated parts were a new pool area and Japanese restaurant. food and drinks were good( apart from the cheap and nasty wine ) Rooms were cleaned every day. Children's entertainment went on until 11.00 pm, which was a bit late for small ones. It is a hotel mainly for families so would not recommend to couples seeking peace and quiet. The beach is a joke with only a handful of sunbeds as no room for anymore. Would not go back to this particular hotel.More

Friendly hotel, lovely location.

greeted on arrival by Thomson team who were excellent. Check in staff very efficient and friendly and had us in our room within 5 mins. As a couple we knew that there would be children about but they were very well behaved and the 2 pool areas catered for all. Our room was very clean with a nice bathroom and maid service every day. we had a sea view as our room was at the end of the block with the view looking towards Corfu town so you could see all the cruise liners in dock. Food was plentiful at all sittings and of a good quality and variety. the restaurant staff were very attentive. A nice family hotel but we will return to couples hotels.More

Patrick B,

Brilliant Hotel

We very much enjoyed our stay here. Staff we're great; special recognition goes to George the hotel manager and Christos in the bar at the 'other' pool, but all staff were hard working and very accommodating, from front desk to cleaners, to restaurant; a very international mixture interestingly. An all inclusive place can be tricky to run without making it feel like a camp, but I think this place is very well run, has a very nice feel to it, and aims to make everyone feel like a special customer. Thomson staff were great too, all of them in fact. The hotel is set in a beautiful spot (i.e. optimal to take in surrounding beauty of the sea and views of mainland Greece and Albania). We had a sea view room but, to be honest, I don't really see the point in upgrading to it, the whole hotel is sea view; pool areas, restaurants... everywhere! Plus, I think we spent about 5 mins on the balcony. As other reviewers have pointed out, the immediate surroundings to the other side have little to offer. Across the road (once you make it) is a Lidl and a place next to it called 'Ni Hao' which seemingly sells everything; swimwear, shoes, luggage, clothes... There was food on at the hotel, somewhere, somehow, all the time, from 7 in the morning til midnight. I don't know how much weight I put on, sure there were healthy options, I just ate too much of everything, most of it was very nice. Fizzy drinks and beer were fine in my op, but juices were more like sugary squash that actual juice, and wine wasn't great either. The Japanese place was nice, but it seemed to be just as much Chinese as actually Japanese. The wasps were plenty, esp around anything with sugar, but they didn't seem to sting, and if they did apparently it doesn't hurt, but can itch a bit afterwards. Entertainment was fun, I especially liked the Circus family. I don't really understand people who complain about the quality of entertainment at hotels like this. If you want world class entertainment, I believe you should have booked a trip to Las Vegas or Broadway instead. They're just a bit of fun, aren't they? Other guests were nice and generally polite. Queuing is, as we know, not customary among all cultures, but it wasn't as bad as I have experienced at other all inclusives (this hotel was 'classier' you might say). All in all a very nice hotel with a 'feel good' atmosphere and constant breathtaking views. Highly recommendable.More

Last minute value

We booked this as a last minute deal when we thought that the children had returned to school, and it was therefore "safe" to book into what is most definitely a family hotel. There were of course lots of toddlers, some of them with parents who have never heard the word "control". The poor reps and staff had to deal with their offspring and prevent them from injuring themselves and others. i.e. by running on the stage during performances, despite requests to parents not to allow them to do this. I suppose the problem with the title "All inclusive" means that they believe everything is done for them while they drink themselves even more silly than they already are. However, having said this, all the staff are great, the place is clean, the food is good with plenty of choice, and the drinks package is not too bad. The wine, we felt, was awful, very cheap and nasty, so if you wanted something more palatable you had to buy it. The beer ditto. The spirits were pretty good as they generally served generous measures.Diet Pepsi was also available from the pump so it is possible to avoid a few extra calories with the mixer. They offered a daily cocktail, and also had a number of choices of these free at the bar, everything was stated quite clearly on the bar list. The Japanese restaurant was very enjoyable, apart from the starter which was served up, the rest was a buffet again. Everything was cooked, so we would have said it was more Oriental than Japanese, but very tasty and a nice atmosphere, this was a nice bonus, but it was only open a few days while we were there and has to be booked a day ahead. We had booked a double family room with a sea view. This looked out over the pool and on to the sea and as you would expect was spacious if rather basic. These rooms don't get any sun on them so drying a towel on the outside rail provided was impossible. We didn't get pool towels (10 euros deposit per towel) as it said they were only changed every 3 days which rather defeats the object of having a pool towel which you can discard at the end of the day! The charge for the safe was 3.50 a day, really steep, but I don't like leaving passports etc unlocked so it was a necessary evil. It was also key operated, which meant it had to be carried around at all times. Usually they are coded which is a much better idea. The door key was also a very heavy piece of metal and this had to be placed rather precariously in the wall inside the door to get the lights to turn on. There are no nice toiletries in the room just dispensers of basic solutions, and the bath towels are on the small side. At this time of year there were sufficient sunbeds, though people still saved them for the best part of the day before using them. The very tiny strip of beach was well used, and many of us couples swam in the sea. I would not really have called it a shingle beach, it was certainly sandy underfoot, just a few rocky areas which seemed visible. The sea is very shallow and was calm on most days. Lovely views across to Greece and a couple of small islands, it all felt very peaceful away from the pool areas. Corfu town and port are visible from the grounds and we could see the cruise ships coming and going on a daily basis. The bus into town got very busy and crowded, but didn't take very long and cost 1.50 per person each way. Unfortunately we did not realise that the beginning of September also seems to herald in the clouds and rain so the weather was very mixed. There was no music played either in the bar or restaurant for the first few days while we were there so there was virtually no atmosphere at all. We believe that so many people mentioned it that finally in our last couple of days we did get some music in the bar area. We always liked eating on the verandah section as this was less utilitarian, and of course we could take advantage of the lovely view too. The wasps were a nuisance but we didn't notice anyone getting stung which was surprising. The wi-fi was useless, it can only be accessed in the reception area, and then with great difficulty, as this had been offered as part of the deal it really should be addressed properly. We had to use our mobiles to make contact regarding some home issues that needed dealing with whereas we had felt we could keep in touch by email. Overall it was a nice break, and our flights and transfers all worked smoothly which helps. Shame about the weather and the ignorant parents but that can happen anywhere.More

Perfect family hotel, but not for couples!

We chose this hotel as a last minute deal, and should have paid more attention to the name in the brochure 'Thomson Family Hotel' and it is what is says on the label! There are things to do all day for family's, the activities are regularly announced over the tannoy system and you soon got to know the routine! If you are a couple and want a relaxing holiday then this isn't the place for you. On arrival at the hotel at 4am in the morning, the reception was not very inviting the decor was bland, could have done with a few pictures or something to brighten it up or a nice centre piece. Reception is the only place WiFi is available and is very slow especially when all guests are trying to use it. Check in was swift and there was sandwiches and drinks in the room waiting, a nice touch. The room was a good size with a mismatch of furniture. The bedding was beautiful and white. There was no toiletries like you would expect in a 4* hotel! just soap or shower dispensers on the wall. We had a sea view room and the views were amazing, every morning cruise ships would pass by, lovely sight. The restaurant was always busy, the breakfasts were the best we have had at any hotel recently, the evening meals were always the same, we did try the Asian restaurant and this comes highly recommended. The restaurant staff were always very pleasant and were attentive when bringing you drinks to accompany the meal. The bar tenders in the main bar were always busy and never kept you waiting, the drinks and cocktails were of good quality. Overall the staff were brilliant, from the cleaners, bar staff, reception, waiters. The hotel was good, we chose wrong as we wanted a quiet holiday and this isn't what we got. It is evident they are investing in the hotel, there is a new pool, some new sunbeds etc. The hotel is isolated, there is a Lidl and supermarket on the main road but no bars nearby if you fancied a change. This is the 3rd Louis hotel we have tried and will try others.More
