Bergerie Pianiccia

These authentic stone bergeries aren’t your run-of-the-mill villas. They’re actually former shepherd huts which have been lovingly renovated. And locations don’t come any better than this – you’ll find them tucked on the leafy outskirts of trendy Porto Vecchio.

The five properties are in a secluded spot, too, so privacy and scenery come as standard. And when you want to explore, the centre of Porto Vecchio is less than ten minutes by car, so making the most of the shops, bars and restaurants is easy. And if a beach ranks high on your wish list, this cluster delivers on that front, too. Just head for Santa Giulia, a ten-minute drive away, where you’ll be greeted by a blanket of brilliant-white sand.

As to The Bergeries themselves, each one offers an authentic, relaxing, retreat with traditional stone floors, beamed ceilings and chunky wood furnishings.

There’s Bergerie Frangio, which has a kidney-shaped pool bordered by wooden decking. Step inside and you’re greeted by a lovely lounge and dining area that leads through to a fully-equipped kitchen. Two comfy double bedrooms complete the picture.

The Bergerie Chiterbio is equally endearing. There’s an open-plan lounge and dining area. Plus the little kitchen area has got all the gadgets you need like a microwave and dishwasher. Outside, meanwhile, there’s a private pool and terrace where you can soak up the mountain views.

Bergerie Pianiccia sits in a secluded spot hidden among the trees and makes a lovely romantic retreat à deux. There is a double bedroom, attached bathroom and kitchenette area. On the terrace you'll find the barbecue area, complete with table and cosy bench to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and al fresco dining.

Bergerie Mulinu is the biggest of the group with three double bedrooms. Downstairs, there’s a roomy open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. Outside, the serene pool invites you to relax away the day.

Last but by no means least, is the Monte Piano, the newest addition to the collection. Sitting in wooded gardens with a private plunge pool, this villa has a double room in the main building and a double room in a small building eighty metres from the main villa each with private facilities, so is great for families with teenagers or couples who want their own privacy.
