Villa Hortensia

Villa Hortensia's irresistible attraction is its situation, which is only 10km from fashionable Porto Vecchio, yet is gorgeously peaceful and rural. The villa is set in an extensive, completely enclosed mature garden, which is a labour of love for the owners, amidst groves of pines and evergreen oaks. The villa owners, who live in a chalet, discreetly tucked away in the grounds, occasionally interrupt this rural tranquillity to clean the pool or water the flowers in the garden.
A true family home, Villa Hortensia is furnished attractively and with taste. The mod cons needed for minimum effort are in evidence too, as are those needed to amuse children and teenagers: satellite TV, hi-fi system, English library, table tennis and garden swings. The bedrooms are pleasantly furnished. The main bathroom is large, and there is also a shower room which is reached through the laundry room. The sitting room leads to a conservatory overlooking the garden, and the compact kitchen leads to a terrace which is a lovely spot to enjoy a late breakfast before crossing the lawn to the pool.
Porto Vecchio's famously beautiful sandy beaches, and the equally famous pinnacles of Bavella and cliffs of Bonifacio, are within easy drives (20 minutes to an hour), although those who stay here during will probably want to do little but revel in the tranquillity of the villa's leafy setting and enjoy family life.
