Bergerie Mulinu

An introduction to Bergerie Mulinu

These old stone bergeries have got a touch of fairytale magic about them. Newly renovated, they're characterful former shepherd's huts tucked among the trees of uber-trendy Porto Vecchio. In fact, location doesn't come much better than this. They've grabbed a wonderfully secluded spot, so you're guaranteed plenty of privacy and lashings of battery-reviving R&R. Yet the centre of Porto Vecchio is less than ten minutes away by car, so you're never far from the chic shops, bars and restaurants that conspire to make this the island's most sophisticated resort. Of course, a beach will almost certainly rank highly on your holiday wish list, and they come up trumps on that front too. When you're ready to relax, just head for Santa Giulia, a ten minute drive away. Here, a blanket of gleaming white sand slides into waters of the brightest blue. But first things first, which of the three will you choose? All of them offer up real home-from-home living, with great views to boot. There's Bergerie Frangio, a gorgeously intimate villa. Its private kidney-shaped pool is set among rock features with wooden decking where you can relax and soak up the sun. And look through the trees as you sit on the terrace and you'll see the bay of Porto Vecchio sparkling below. Step inside the villa, meanwhile, and you're greeted by a lovely lounge and dining area with stone flooring and wooden furnishings, that leads through to a fully-equipped kitchen with a handy dishwasher and microwave. There are two delightful double bedrooms, too, so it sleeps four comfortably. Not far from here, meanwhile, is Bergerie Chiterbio, the kind of place that'd be spot on for a couple looking for a romantic retreat. Inside, both the lounge area and the bedroom are fully air-conditioned so you're guaranteed a really comfortable stay, and the little kitchen section's got all the gadgets you might need on a self-catering holiday, like a microwave and dishwasher. Head outside and you'll find the pool and terrace with take-your-breath away mountain views. Bergerie Pianiccia sparkles in a secluded clearing hidden among the trees. This one has a double bedroom so, again, it's perfect for a pair. And there's a little lounge with a TV and DVD, plus a fully-equipped kitchenette that gives you everything you need including a spa on the terrace. Last, but not least, is Bergerie Mulinu the biggest of the group with three bedrooms upstairs, two double and one twin and an excellent open-plan living/dining room and kitchen downstairs. But which to choose?
