An introduction to Lallegria

Fabulous views over the sea and a wonderful and completely private pool tucked into the hillside above the ocean conspire to make L'Allegria a very special property. Bastia's (about 5km away) wide choice of restaurants can also be enjoyed by guests staying in this lovely villa. Inside, the villa is spacious and extremely comfortable, as befits a family home. The split-level, marble-floored dining-room-sitting room, is a haven of light as well as comfort, and is furnished with a mix of modern and antique pieces. The attractive fitted kitchen is fully equipped and opens onto a dining terrace equipped with a built-in barbecue. Like the sitting room and the kitchen, the two first floor bedrooms (a double and a twin) open onto the sea-facing terrace which spans the front of the villa. Also on this floor is a bathroom, a separate WC and a small laundry room. On the floor below, reached by a spiral staircase, is a spacious double bedroom with superb views both seawards and to Bastia and the mountains, a small twin bedroom, a bathroom, a separate WC, and a lobby area with sets of built-in wardrobes for each bedroom. L'Allegria's trump card is the stunningly beautiful pool area where the pool is set into a broad sun terrace which enjoys glorious views over the sea below. The vine-shaded dining terrace is the perfect place for lingering over leisurely meals, and as there is a summer kitchen, there is no need to go up and down the 40-odd steps to the top floor except for a siesta.
The seaside village of Pietranera, just a few kilometres below, has a wide enough range of shops - from a bakery to a small supermarket - to supply all holiday needs, and there are a couple of fine harbourside restaurants in Erbalunga, about 15 minutes' drive up the coast.
