A more apt name for our new villa couldn't be found as 'the vines in the sun' is what Patrimonio is famed for. The area produces the best wine in Corsica and A Vigna Sulana is so close to some of the fields that those travelling later in the season will be able to see the ripened grapes weighing down the vines from their terrace. Throughout the summer the caves of Patrimonio are open for wine-tasting and there is no more economical way of stocking up the cellar than buying directly from the vineyards.

The villa, which has been newly constructed using traditional materials, is spread over three floors (the owner lives in the adjoining villa). The air-conditioned master bedroom and its en suite bathroom occupy the whole of the top floor loft room. A further double bedroom and a twin bedroom can be found on the ground floor along with a shower room and open-plan living room with well-equipped kitchen area. The living room has a large fireplace and opens out onto the terrace area, which is a tempting spot for any afternoon, as it has been designed with outdoor living in mind. A barbecue in this beautiful landscape becomes a special event, and the host need not over-exert themselves or abandon their guests for a moment, as the summer kitchen includes a fridge so that there are always cool drinks on hand. The pretty garden invites those contemplative strolls which aid the digestion so, and ensure that before too long you will be ready to jump back into the lovely pool to catch the last sunshine of the day.

The house overlooks the distinctive 13th-century church of Patrimonio village which is illuminated to stunning effect at night. Conveniently, a bakers and a small shop are only five minute drive away, and for a supermarket and choice of restaurants St Florent is only a ten-minute drive.
