Villa Paneccasio

With a very large garden, Villa Paneccasio is ideal for families. It's a modern villa, simply furnished and with cool tiled floors. Located between Calvi and L'lle-Rousse, there are plenty of places of interest within easy reach.

The beach at Lumio is ten kilometre long, and in summer you'll find canoes, diving and waterskiing available there, as well as a sailing school. In the evening you can stroll into the village and relax in one of the village's restaurants - it's a small, homely resort with a few shops as well, though a better range of shopping can be found in Calvi.

Calvi is also worth a visit on historical grounds - there's the impressive 15th-century citadel that overlooks the marina, the baroque church of Ste-Marie-Majeure and the promenade along Quai Landry, which is where you'll find seafront cafes and restaurants. And then there's the marina itself, which is where you'll find some splendid yachts, echoing the days when magnificent Genoese boats traded here; the days when Genoa was a major European sea power and this was their main port on Corsica.
