Portu Delice

This fabulous villa with private pool is the envy of all Campo Moro. Portu d'Elice is not only the most impressive property in the village in terms of design and size, it also has the finest of positions: below the watchtower, right on the turquoise water's edge, facing a backdrop of mysterious mountains hanging over shimmering water. The site is breathtakingly beautiful, a source of inspiration for the gifted architect who worked in close collaboration with the owners, determined to maximise every play of light and every inch of spectacular vista during the recent construction. The result is a masterpiece. An astounding view takes your breath away as soon as you step from the central patio, vivid with brilliant roses and bougainvillaea, through the main door into the colonnaded nucleus of the house. This huge, two-storey high vault of a room has a central portico of glass flanked by vast picture windows, specially designed to encompass the full glorious panorama of sea and mountains which culminates in the famous 'Aiguilles de Bavella'.
Leading from this cathedral-like hub, which features a baronial stone fireplace, is the open plan kitchen, where the central marble-topped workstation has been placed so that even the chef of the household can enjoy the spectacular view while at work. There are two double and three twin bedrooms, and each not only has its own beautifully appointed en suite bath or shower room, but also enjoys wonderful sea views. Naturally, the master suite has the finest views from its double-angled windows. Lying in bed you need not even lift your head from the pillow to feast your eyes on a lovely scene: yachts at anchor on a sea of limpid blues and greens in the foreground, a jumble of ancient stone cottages in the distance, and soaring peaks behind.
Every room has picture windows with electrically operated blinds, opening onto the splendid colonnaded veranda which almost encircles the villa. On this partly-covered, partly-open veranda there is throughout the day a choice of sun or shade as the sun tracks overhead, for sunbathing or eating al fresco in the shade. All the veranda furniture is in chic teak.
Outside, pines and palms provide pools of shade on the luxuriant lawn. Just beyond the lawn is the fabulous pool, surrounded by a sunbathing terrace, and with great views out over the sea. A gate leads directly from the garden to the water's edge, and the sandy beach is only a five walk from the villa.
Apart from the completely self-contained apartment on the lower ground floor, which is occupied by the villa's very discreet owners, Portu d'Elice offers a wonderful degree of privacy as the grounds are screened by vegetation, and access to the shore is direct and exclusive. From this shoreside enclave you can enjoy the simplicity, serenity and natural beauty of an enchanting little fishing village on its gorgeous bay, while enjoying at the same time all the creature comforts and privileges which only world-class properties offer.
