After being given your snow clothes at the airport, Santa's elves will take you to your hotel in Levi, Pallas or Yllas. Then, you've got the afternoon free to get a feel for your surroundings. Grab a toboggan and head for the slopes or take a walk through the snowy countryside.
Get a crash course in Lappish culture in this taster session. You can take a short husky sleigh ride, and have a go on a snowmobile. One of Santa's elves will tell you a story around the fire, too. The rest of the day is yours to spend how you fancy - wrap up and play in the snow or relax in the warmth of your hotel.
Cruise through the countryside on a snowmobile, or sit back and relax on a sleigh as huskies or reindeer do the hard work. Or why not book the Snow Village excursion? It includes loads of outdoor activities.
Head to Santa's activity area for a day of festive fun. Try your hand at decorating cookies and making Christmas tree ornaments, take a ride on a reindeer-pulled sleigh, and top your day off with a face-to-face meeting with Santa himself. On a Lapland Explorer trip you'll tuck into a traditional Christmas dinner at the gala meal, too.

Amazing room. Big let down
On arrival saw our amazing room. Was so happy when saw we had a sauna in room. Unfortunately everything got worse from there. Food was awful. Buffet was a joke and was told at 8pm when we arrived after all day travelling we had to wait an hour to eat as no seats. There were over 100 empty in other part of restautent but we were not allowed to use even though was empty. So no food for 3 and 6 year olds until 10pm on a Santa holiday. Pitiful. Would never return on that alone so won't even bother going into the other gripes I have as way too many. This hotel actually spoilt my kids trip to meet santa. Thanks so much sokos. More

Very friendly staff
I was struggling between 4 and 5 points, but it would have been wrong to only give 4. I arrived after a 3-day hike to the hotel, well before noon i.e. way too early. I was welcomed by a lovely member of staff who seemed genuinely happy to be able to give me my room immediately. Throughout all staff were happy, talkative (at least by Finnish standards), friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and had everything I wanted. Freshly made fruit salad and some nuts would be a nice improvement, but there was eggs, bacon, several cheeses, porridge etc. Very nice. Location is superb, although maybe a bit "lively" in the winter? In the summer, I appreciated the central location. So why did I hesitate to give 5 points? Two reasons: 1. Especially as I had booked a premium room with a sauna, I think the amenities should have been better. Body lotion, proper shampoo etc. 2. I asked the staff about airport transportation, and they told me about the bus service. Good thing I double-checked, because that has to be pre-booked the day before. I managed myself to get the direct number to the bus-service and they kindly offered to transport me to the airport, despite calling the same day. I think some of the members in the staff were somewhat new, so they will learn. I generally don't think much about Sokos hotels but this was a truly positive experience!More
Thompson Christmas package
My family and I stayed at the hotel as part of a Thompson Christmas package. It was well placed for walks around the town, to the supermarket and to other restaurants. We stayed as a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast rate so we ate mostly in the hotel's restaurant. Food was buffet style, plentiful and delicious. The buffet style went down well with the kids who were able to try foods that they otherwise would not have ordered. The hotel staff were all pleasant, check in was very easy and the rooms easy to locate. The family room was fantastic - the sauna was a welcome addition after a long day out in the cold. The balconies also offered great views. The room I was allocated was a standard twin room. I found it to be very quiet, warm and cosy despite the room actually being very spacious. Seating area was a nice touch to enjoy a hot chocolate before bed. TV was limited, but luckily I had brought my iPad so I was catered for well. Having only stayed for four nights, we definitely wanted to stay longer. When I return to Finland, this is definitely a hotel that I will look up as a first port of call for a quotation.More
Package tour hotel in a touristic winter resort
When we arrived there were two girls at the reception, one was learning the other one training. The "teacher" was chewing gum and behaving quite arrogantly. We were told that as of 8am next morning there would be no running water in the hotel, as they had experienced a bacterial infection some months back and the whole pluming system was being reviewed, Better if we had breakfast at 7 and cleared off by 8, as even the toilets would not be working. We were speechless. How should we go about our hygiene now that we knew the pluming system possibly was infected? And we even have to pay for this? And get spoken to with chewing gum? Aaaaahhhhh!!! Room was OK, view onto the adjacent building and 2 beds. We had booked for 1 large but they didn't have any available...More
