Villa Clarissa is a mixture of traditional Mediterranean and contemporary living. The open-plan kitchen-diner and living room, for example, consists of a stone floor and beamed ceiling, while the whitewashed finish and the ‘dividing’ archway give the place its Cypriot feel. The modern kitchen is excellently fitted out, too, with home-from-home appliances that include a dishwasher.
Outside, Clarissa is every inch the quintessential Med villa. Whitewashed from top to toe, it has fantastic sea views from the terrace area and pool. Speaking of which, the pool is all yours, while the terrace features a stone-built barbecue and wooden garden furniture. There’s even a Jacuzzi™, tailor-made for a sunset dip.
Location-wise, the villa is in the middle of the pretty village of Pomos. Slightly further away – but still only a two-minute drive – is the harbour area. It’s here you’ll find a handful of highly-recommended fish tavernas that serve up the day’s catch.

Holidays don’t get much lazier than this. This charming seaside village has a harbourfront, minimarket and a peppering of restaurants, but that’s about it. If your idea of holiday heaven is uninterrupted peace and quiet, then it’s probably just the spot you’re looking for. Put simply, this is no place for raising the rafters. But if you like nothing better than dawdling the day away on a lovely dark-sand beach before wending your way back to a village steeped in old Cypriot charm, it’ll press all the right buttons. Feel like giving the beach a miss? Hit a waterfront taverna in the early morning to see the fishing boats empty their catch on the harbourside. As the clock ticks lazily towards midday, order a pulse-pumping Cypriot coffee and watch the locals play backgammon at a next door table. Then wind down the pace with a long, lingering lunch. If you’re not ready for the afternoon snooze by now, you’re probably doing something wrong. Whatever you do, be sure to make time to investigate the local area. The inspirational countryside around Pomos is deliciously undisturbed save for the occasional tinkle of goat bells. Climb one of the cliff-hugging roads to witness the amazing vistas before descending to a secluded beach to swim and snorkel in sparkling seas. Utter bliss.
