Getting into the vibe here is hardly hard work – by day, kick back on the beach, by night, do the rounds of the local bars and restaurants. And if you're wild about nature, the nearby Arkamas Peninsula will delight. Take a picnic and follow the roads traversing this unspoilt headland lured by the prize of a rock-and-pebble cove all to yourself. Walk steep walled gorges and visit the fern-fringed rock pool of the Baths of Aphrodite. And don't miss the recently excavated relics at the site of Marion, a town that thrived here in the 7th century BC.
