Hotel Louis Imperial Beach

The Louis Imperial is a good choice for beach and pool lovers – it’s got a great swimming pool and it sidles up next to a Blue Flag stretch of sand.

This hotel is surrounded by gardens, which slope down to a Blue Flag beach. Location-wise, Paphos is a 20-minute walk along a scenic beachside path, plus there’s a clutch of bars and restaurants even closer.

Defo book this one!

I came here for 1 week at the start of august and just got home the other day. We went as a family of 6 and everyone really enjoyed the stay. Hotel: Very clean and well maintained by the staff. The lobby bar is really nice and has a great view of the sea if you choose the right seats. It has 3 main pools and all are clean. The indoor pool is actually partially outdoor and good for those who have got serious sunburn already! Rooms: We had sea view rooms and they were very clean and had decent room in them. The balcony had great views of the sea and the harbour. Credit to the cleaning staff for cleaning them everyday, defo deserved a tip for that Food: Simply amazing, plenty to eat and good choice that was mixed up everyday. Very good for veggies too as 3 in the group don't eat meat. Personally i would say they were missing out as the meat was top! Staff: The staff make this place what it is. Great service with drink brought to you at your table. We were all inclusive and I would recommend that as you will eat and drink your hearts out. Major credit to Maria in the lobby bar, she was so entertaining and made the experience so much more personal. Also credit to Iva, she always had a smile and service to match In the restaurant the staff were great too. Big thanks to Georgia, George and Alex who again made it personal by talking to the guests and always smiling. The staff at the pool areas also did a great job bringing drinks and giving out cold towels. Huge thanks to all the staff!! Entertainment: Not so good, the evening shows were below average for me, been to a lot of resorts like this across the world and this was by far the least entertaining. The bingo everyday before the entertainment was simply boring most people. Beach: Not a sandy beach but great rocks to sit on and the water is amazing. See pics I have added. Also a nice beach 5 mins down from the hotel. Walk along the sea front towards the harbour. The manager was a nice man, he was asking around the guest regularly to make they were happy. He is doing a great job running the hotel! Overall it's a defo must for people going to Cyprus, all round it's great and deserves 5 star rating. More

A 5* holiday

Just returned from an amazing holiday at the Louis Imperial. We stayed from the 28th July to the 7th August and were thoroughly impressed. Food is outstanding at this hotel, always fresh and delicious, with lots of variety and themed nights. The food the hotel serves is of a higher standard than any other all inclusive hotel I have stayed in, so well done. The staff are outstanding, and they are always happy to help. There is no need to go up to the bar at any point during the day or night, as the bar staff come round the sun loungers and the evening entertainment area and lobby. As soon as you finish your drink they ask if you would like another, it was very impressive how quick and efficient they were. Cold towels in the mornings was a really nice touch that I haven't experienced anywhere else. The room is always an important part of the hotel for me, and I was very happy with my room throughout the stay. It was lovely and modern, very clean and the beds were comfy. We had a breathtaking sea view - I would highly recommend booking a room with a sea view if you can, it is so worth it. The free lobby wifi is good, but I thought it was worth paying the 15 euros for wifi for a week in your room and around the pool, which was very fast. Entertainment during the day was enjoyable, especially the aqua aerobics. Evening entertainment could get a bit boring, but it was clear to see that the entertainment team are very talented and put a lot of effort into the shows they put on. However we enjoyed bingo the most! Some people write negatively about the beach on reviews, but we thought the beach was lovely. The sea was clear and cold which was so refreshing during the hottest parts of the day, and although it was quite rocky it was still lovely. If you prefer sand, a two minute walk will take you to a more sandy area of beach with a jetty which is nice to walk down and jump in the sea from. The hotel is in a really great location, about half an hour from the airport and ten minute in a taxi from the harbour which is definitely worth a visit. Book a taxi through the hotel and it is only about 10 euros, and the harbour has some gorgeous restaurants and sea views. The hotel also has some bars, shops and restaurants just outside the hotel which is good if you don't want to venture too far out. The main swimming pool was lovely, and was really not that busy at all. There was also a really nice shallow pool which I loved to sit in and read a book to cool off in the heat. A few very MINOR negatives - the swimming pool temperature heated up throughout the day and after about two hours it felt like swimming in a warm bath, I personally would have preferred it to be colder as it is more refreshing in the heat. The chlorine in the swimming pool also ruined any white clothes/swimwear and turned them COMPLETELY yellow, so avoiding wearing white in the pool! Both of these things I haven't experienced in other hotels. Also, the lift doors could be quite dangerous and closed very quickly, often closing on people as they were getting into the lift, including myself! Another thing is the irregularity and confusion of when the bingo is and isn't on. Sometimes it was meant to be bingo night and then was cancelled with no mention, which could be disappointing. However, these negatives are very minor and I can't fault this hotel in the slightest. It is always being cleaned and kept spotless, all staff are very pleasant, friendly, helpful and speak very good English and are a credit to the hotel, and facilities and rooms are brilliant. It was an amazing holiday, with lots of memories made which will last a lifetime, and I will miss it very much! More

Aimee M,

Great Holiday

Spent two weeks end of July to mid August and the weather was very hot with temperatures mid to high 30s. The hotel is located right on the beach and is about a 30 min walk to Paphos harbour. Check in was efficient and welcoming with a choice of drinks and nibbles while you were checked in, suitcases were taken to your room. We had a sea view room on the top floor, third floor, looking towards the harbour and over the family pool. The room was very spacious with plenty of draw and cupboard space. The bathroom was modern with shower over bath and shower and soap dispensers regularly topped up. The bath towels were very poor, not at all fluffy, they were worn and threadbare which was really disappointing when everything else in this hotel is so good. The beds were a touch firm but very comfortable. The chairs on the balcony were very comfortable although we could only sit on the balcony early in the morning or early evening as the sun was beating down on the balcony after mid day. The air conditioning worked well and kept you comfortable without being too cold. The food in the restaurant was excellent, there was always plenty of choice for breakfast of cooked with plenty of choice of hot items, plenty of cereal fruit yogurt etc. Lunch again had plenty of choice from hot food to salad along with local choices. Evening meals were often themed with plenty of choice, beef, turkey, lamb, salmon, white bait plenty of veg and choice of potatoes. The sweets were fantastic with lots of baclava, chocolate cake and on different nights they had custard and chocolate cake or apple crumble and rice pudding. You were shown to your table in the evening and waiters were prompt in taking your drink order. Although there were signs about dress code it was a shame that some people just couldn't make an effort to put something smart on, either jeans chinos, slacks or smart shorts, many of the guys were dreadful,no style at all an embarrassment to their partners. There are two big outdoor pools one for adults and another for families along with smaller splash pools for children and toddlers. Plenty of beds and umbrellas around the pools and loads of beds and umbrellas on the grassed areas, it was never difficult to find beds and umbrellas although there were a lot of inconsiderate adults banging bedroom doors at 6 and 7 o'clock going down to book their beds, mostly around the adult pool. No consideration for other people, I think the hotel should apply a rule that any towels found on beds before say 8.30 will be removed then everybody can enjoy their sleep without being woken so early when most people are trying to have a relaxing time. There was also an indoor pool that was really cool which was very welcome in the hot temperatures during our stay, the outdoor pool was great, it was like walking into a warm bath. You never had a to worry about drinks as the staff brought you cold water around 10, cold towels later and through out the day they were taking orders for drinks, the bar staff really worked hard in keeping you supplied with drinks. Entertainment team worked hard organising games during the day and well supported, evening entertainment team were enthusiastic and did their best. The guy who did the Neil Diamond tribute and Elvis the second week was grim, no voice or stage presence, don't hire him for next year. The chap who played the violin in the bar was very good and played a good mix of popular music. During our stay we saw 4 weddings all around 4 o'clock and it was good to see the warm applause people face to the brides on their special day, the weddings were quite small around 2 dozen people perhaps and didn't affect the enjoyment of any ones holiday. Most of the hotels offer wedding services and we saw a number in adjacent hotels. The bar staff in the reception area worked very hard and were always asking if you wanted a drink, happy to drink local spirits, nice change from drinking British brands, sometimes they actually taste better. Be aware that measures are very generous . Wifi works well in the reception bar and is free. You will come away from this hotel happy and sad, happy because the staff went out of their way to make sure you enjoyed a relaxing holiday and sad that you couldn't stay longer. The staff are first class, well done to everyone. My only complaint about this hotel is that there are no images, pictures to identify this hotel being in Cyprus. This hotel could be anywhere in Europe which is a shame. More

Perfect wedding at the Louis Imperial Beach

Stayed at the Imperial Beach for 2 weeks for our wedding – all of our guests stayed at the hotel too. Every one of our guests (young and old) thought that the hotel was fantastic. The amount of staff they have is amazing. The Rooms – get a sea view; the other rooms don’t have a nice view but are quieter at night. Rooms are all the same size (even if you get the family one with the partial partition). We found this out because the Thomson advisor in the shop we booked with promised us we’d get a room upgrade (as part of the Thomson wedding package) but we didn’t – it was peak season and the hotel did not have any of these rooms left. The hotel did offer us the honeymoon suite for the wedding night but we felt it was too much hassle for one day. The rooms are cleaned every day and fresh towels are available as you request them. There is also a mini-bar and tea/coffee facilities. The air-con is fantastic (and an extra key is available if you ask at reception). The minus points about the rooms are the lack of décor (the hotel is a little bland) and the 3 Euros per day for the safe. I chose not to have the wedding photographer in the room as we were getting ready because the rooms are so basic. The other criticism is the lack of wifi (free in the lobby or £15 PER DEVICE PER WEEK otherwise). The Food We all found the food to be fantastic – plentiful and tasty. The menu on Thursdays seemed to be the ‘worst’ but even then there is something delicious to find. We went to the Japanese restaurant twice (you can go as many times as you like) with all of our party and really enjoyed it – lovely food and waiter service. It is a set menu but you can change the dishes (such as the fish ones to chicken/beef). The Pools The pools are all chlorinated and cleaned well every morning. They start off cool in the morning but due to the heat end up like a warm bath by mid-afternoon (except the indoor adult-only pool which is cold). The staff constantly come around the pool with drink orders. The Wedding Our wedding was booked through Thomson and I had booked and paid for all the extras before we left. I took my own favours and extra decorations for the reception – this was no problem and was set up for me. We met with the Thomson rep Michelle and the hotel manager when we arrived to finalise details for the day. Both Michelle and the manager were fantastic – professional, courteous and made us feel like we were special – as it should be! They both took any possible bit of stress away and they ran the entire day with unobtrusive precision. The hotel only do 1 wedding per day which we felt was important (some other hotels we looked at do 2). On the day of our wedding it was 37 degrees, so it was very hot but it did not matter because at least it didn’t rain! The bridal party spent about 3 hours in the hotel’s salon with Julie, the hairdresser, who was amazing! She made us all look like princesses and she is such good fun too! One tip: your wedding dress can be hanged in the vents of the air-con (we only realised this on the day of the wedding when our dresses were being steamed). We were married in the garden gazebo at 4pm, under the palm trees and over-looking the sea (which is extended so the guests are not sat in the blazing sun as depicted in the Thomson pictures). We stayed at the hotel for the reception (outside in a special cordoned off area near the pool) and had the delicious gala dinner – which is waiter served. We had the caricaturist, the DJ (the hotel stipulates ‘soft music’ but we had all our favourite dance tunes until 11pm) and the Greek dancers for extra entertainment – all were great but the Greek dancers really got everyone up and dancing. We also paid extra for the sunset photos and we were so glad we did – the photograph album is produced within a few days and taken home with you. We were provided with a delicious breakfast in bed the day after the wedding and had a candle-lit dinner for two during the evening – where our food was cooked in front of us. A final huge thank you to the manager, Michelle and all of the staff at the hotel who made our wedding and entire stay absolutely perfect!More
