Hotel Louis Imperial Beach

Loading

This whitewashed hotel really stands out against the lush gardens surrounding it. And at the edge of the grounds, golden sands slope into turquoise waters. The beach also flies a Blue Flag, so you’re guaranteed a spotless stretch.

Elsewhere, you’ll find a swimming pool, which is framed by sun terraces dotted with loungers and palms. Add in a bar serving snacks and cocktails, and you’ve got a great spot to relax.

The hotel restaurant is self-service, with a big range of international dishes on offer. And to mix things up a little, there’s Cypriot and Chinese themed nights. For after-dinner drinks with a little music, head for the piano bar, where tables spill out onto an open-air terrace.

Inside, everything is sleek and contemporary. The lobby features cool marble floors, potted palms and high-backed chairs. And the bedrooms come with plump armchairs that give things a homely vibe. The rooms and corridors have had a total makeover for summer 2013, too, so the interiors look even more fresh and modern.

Finally, you’ve got the location to consider. It takes around 20 minutes to walk to the heart of Paphos, and there’s a new beachside path that’ll take you the scenic way. Closer to home, restaurants and bars are less than a five-minute walk from the hotel.

Lovely hotel! Excellent relaxing holiday.

Spent a relaxing week 9 April - 16 April. On arrival we were welcomed by staff with welcome drinks and cake. Staff were brilliant. I travelled with my young son and my parents. Reception were very thoughtful and gave us connecting rooms which was brilliant. The hotel is bright and very clean, we stayed on an all inclusive basis and wow there was fresh hot food available 24 hrs a day if you wish. Drinks were free flowing by waiter service which was a nice touch especially when laying by the pool. The staff work very hard and are all so friendly and helpful. The only thing that lets this hotel down was the lack/rubbish entertainment, there were many complaints. Apparently the entertainment manager left a few weeks ago and the replacement team are rubbish. I have a 9 yr old who was looking forward to the Kids Club, but sadly the lady running this did not have a clue, she took a group of children to the pool to play some games and came and asked us which was the deep end and which pat was the shallow end. It really did not give one much confidence in her ability. Other activities consisted of colouring in pictures and taking them to the ice cream counter to get an ice cream which they all had to sit and eat round a table by the pool. (funny really as it is all inclusive and the children are free to help themselves to I've cream whenever they wish) Set aside from that, we had a fantastic week and would go back. The walk from the hotel to Paphos harbour takes about 20 mins at a relaxed pace. There are lots of sunbeds & umbrellas so no problem finding a spot as there is plenty of room. People do put their towels on beds despite a sign saying it is not acceptable. Quality of food is great and plenty to choose from. There is even a section for children if they prefer familiar food. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. XMore

Fabulous holiday and hotel

This was our first stay at the Imperial and we were not disappointed from moment we arrived until we left we were made very welcome. The hotel is modern bright and clean with variety of facilities you come to expect from a four star hotel. In addition, the hotel grounds are very spacious with more than enough sun beds to go around without the usual beach towels at dawn. Our room was clean, spacious and had a wonderful sea view and we could not ask for a better room. Dinning was truly excellent experience with such a varied choice with the themed evenings and there is something for everyone. The hotel is situated in a perfect location on the outskirts of Paphos and has a coastal path linking the hotel with the harbour which is about 20 minute walk. The only niggle I have was the main entertainment being held in a cavernous conference room which was not a professional set-up. I noticed it was hard work for the entertainment team and visiting professional acts to keep the guests engaged. Also a pop-up bar straight from a village hall party doesn't create the best impression for such a good quality hotel. This not a criticism of the staff or the acts but more directed at the hotel management especially where the hotel excels at everything else. That said this is a very good hotel that I would strongly recommend.More

Would recommend but not with children

I have thought long and hard about this review as despite it being a lovely hotel there are a few points that let it down. Firstly on a positive the setting is perfect. Gorgeous hotel set in lovely grounds. About 20 min walk to paphos harbour along coastal path. Rooms good size and bright. Public areas also very clean & tidy. The food amazing. We were all inclusive (first time for my parents on AI who had to be persuaded but couldn't say one bad thing about quality and choice of main meals). The reception staff very welcoming and helpful. I had a problem with my room on arrival partly travel agents fault so dealt with rep rather than hotel but other aspect was the room I was put in just too noisy and I couldn't sleep. Not sure if I was near some sort of generator but a whirring noise all night. The reception gave me keys for 2 other rooms to choose which I wanted to move to so easily resolved. The bar/lounge staff very friendly and attentive. Also entertainment staff always made a point of saying hi. Now for the 'negatives'. This is purely my point of view and having stayed in another Louis hotel in Corfu for all inclusive this has been my main comparison. As this hotel also has different board options drinks had to be 'ordered' rather than get your own. At lunch and evening restaurant we often had to ask more than once before drinks arrived and on a number of occasions they were brought incorrectly so had to be taken away only to wait again. The hotel was not overly busy either and they had plenty of waiters around. I asked to take water back to my room for my little girl but nothing was allowed to be taken as 1 small bottle of water was provided in the room each day! The other louis hotel used to give me a tray to take all drinks back be it alcoholic, soft drinks or hot drinks. I found this very restricting. Every time we ordered drinks we had to sign for it which just became a pain. I would rather wear an all inclusive band. Also from an all inclusive point of view the only issue I had was the snack food provided in between the main meals. I don't feel they were up to the same standard as the other Louis hotel. I chose all inclusive for the sake of my 4 year old being able to eat whenever. But the 'snacks' were more limited. Usually 2 or 3 choices of sandwiches one day being coleslaw sandwich! The warm food was just chips and chicken nuggets (or something similar). This was the same for the children's yummy corner I found not to be very varied or healthy (they could have from adults buffet but they usually like to get their own). In the evening the late night snacks was just bread with a bit of salad & meat and this was still served down in the main restaurant but would have felt more appropriate in the lobby bar where drinks were being served. Again if I went down for snacks at night I felt I was pounced upon straight away to sign to say I was all inclusive. I had to sneak these back to the room for my little girl. I don't think the hotel was overly child friendly. I am all for children behaving themselves and not running round especially during meal times but when my daughter came to catch up with me one lunch time she was really shouted at by a waiter to stop running. It was not necessary as if she had been properly running I would have had something to say about it. One evening she was just talking to me and her grandparents at our table and a waiter came up to us and interrupted saying children should be quiet at meals they eat their dinner and do not speak! Me and my parents were very shocked by this my father actually said she is encouraged to join in our conversations! We found the majority of guests to be older couples without children. After speaking to other families we had a felt that we were looked down upon by childless guests and some children were asked to stop skipping in the lobby bar as it's 'not that kind of hotel' - this was where the live music act had just been playing and we had been dancing! In the end we were told by the rep as guests had complained about children the evening entertainment was moved down to a very dull/dark room with a make shift bar. It was totally un-inviting. We only went in one night as my little girl really wanted to dance. Such a shame as the lobby bar where the entertainment had been previously is a lovely area. Overall we did have a fab holiday. Yes I would recommend the hotel but for couples without children. Also I would probably just go bed & breakfast purely because being so close to the town there are loads of little restaurants to try and you can still book for the theme buffet nights. The Asian restaurant which you have to book is very good food and staff very attentive. Personally I would rather go back to louis in Corfu for all inclusive. More

"A great hotel"

Met with drinks and food by the very friendly and helpful staff, the tone was set for a great week. Our comfortable room offered a stunning sea view. The staff are very professional, being good natured and attentive at all times. What makes this hotel special is the quality and range of food, which is truly exceptional. The grounds are comfortable and well equipped for sunbathing and the poolside bar staff patrol regularly. Paphos harbour and its UNESCO world heritage archaeological site are a pleasant 30 minute stroll away along the seafront or a quick 1.5 euro trip by bus. This is the first time we have returned to a hotel before.More

Stunning Hotel

This is a real gem of a platinum hotel, fully deserving of its 4-star plus rating. From the moment we arrived, we received excellent attention and a whole array of welcome drinks, canapes and nibbles. In our room was a bottle of (local) bubbly o ice and a bowl of fruit. The minibar was stocked continually with mineral water and soft drinks. The attention to detail in the restaurant was brilliant, with a wonderful selection of local and international cuisine, all served piping hot. Hotel grounds were beautifully maintained, and the walk to Paphos Harbour was a refreshing 30 minutes away along the seashore prom. Definitely going back to this hotel.More
