Hotel Avanti

The Hotel Avanti puts you within easy reach of Paphos’ harbour, pretty old town and petite beach.

One of the Hotel Avanti’s major draws is its location. The property is a short walk from the beach, you’ll find shops, restaurants and bars on the doorstep, and the old town is 20 minutes on foot.

There's a lot going on at this hotel – expect a big pool and an impressive list of sports, activities and shows. You can also make the most of the facilities at the nearby Avanti Village hotel.

great hotel and staff

Just returned from a lovely holiday at the Avanti Hotel. This was our first holiday without 4 children and wanted a relaxing holiday but with lots to see. Pathos is lovely great places to eat things to do and some nice beach areas. The Avanti is definitely about the staff who are all fantastic happy and helpful. They go out of their way to make your holiday enjoyable. There are lots to do at the hotel if you want like squash tennis saunas jacuzzi etc and kirsty tries her best at the day time activities however many people do not join in so somethings never happen like water polo. Saying that we enjoyed killer darts archery and some of the quizzes. Evening entertainment compared to where we have been to before is quite basic. AJ attempts to get people to play bingo but most just sit there, We came back to the hotel twice to watch the entertainment and it was ok (not great) but there is so many other places to go in the evening it doesn,t matter. The pool is lovely and clean, no problem with ever finding a sunbed and very relaxing and the pool bar a great place to sit cooling off in the water whilst having a cocktail (charged to room) and chatting to other guests. The rooms at the avanti are clean and nothing missing but nothing extra either. The bathrooms are very basic compared to what we have been used too but this still would not stop me returning, would be nicer if upgraded a bit! Beds are very comfy and have lovely new mattresses and great tea and coffee making facilities. We paid extra for a pool/garden view and this is worth the extra. We were on the 4th floor and had good views but the balconies are very small. 3rd floor rooms have bigger balconies but look out on to roof of hotel so stick with little balcony. Breakfast at the hotel was great other than the streaky bacon, please get proper bacon! lots of choice and restocked frequently. We only ate in the restaurant on bbq night and apart from the staff being lovely it was awful. Sorry Avanti but with such great places to eat elsewhere no need to eat there. no atmosphere and no bbq in sight just meat in buffet containers and although i rarely eat chips i wanted some with my bbq food and had to go to kids corner arrrrr!!! lol. Do go out the pool exit and visit the local restaurants they are fab and very reasonable!! We loved the steak house, great fillet cooked perfect but very big! The italian is superb food too and Gabor the french is amazing and so cheap. 18.90 euro,s for 3 courses but they keep bringing you other courses and bits you worry how much extra they will charge but don,t worry they don,t charge a penny more, so excellent and fun watching Antonio Bandaras lookalike cooking his crepes and steak. The boat days are great too especially Half day Heaven! it was heaven and we didnt want to come back, says it all, but the boat was also quite quiet so that was lovely and service great. Beach wise we went just across the road to a small beach outside (olympic lagoon resort) think thats correct and that was lovely with small beach bar selling drinks and baguettes next to octapus watersports ( they were very good too) hire a jetski great fun! Fab hol in all just the evening food and bathrooms could make it that bit better!!More

Good base

Helpful staff, pleasant surroundings, good choice of bars and restaurants in local area made this a good base for a short stay in Paphos. Downsides, 1. it was not on the beach. That said, although only a short walk away ithe local beach did not tempt us as it was grass and shingle and the toilet facilities were not so desirable. We opted to stay by the pool for our sun bathing but found the loungers provided uncomfortable so didn't spend as much time there as we had planned. 2.The evening entertainment was ok. Good variety but the way it was set out meant that very few tables had a good view if the acts. You had to be there early to get a good table. We found that give the time of year and the average age of visitors we were already having to out to eat earlier than we would normally and even then were never back in time to get a table with a clear view. 3.It was more than the 10 minute walk to the harbour area as suggested in some web pages. Local buses were frequent . More

Superb Hotel

I have just returned from a week at the Avanti Hotel late Sept 2015. All I can say is what a fantastic hotel. All the staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Thumbs up to you all there, excellent attitude towards all of your customers. The rooms are very clean, maid service was every day and was done extremely well. The balconies are large and offer lots of privacy. Food was great at all the restaurants and bars. Breakfast was brilliant, fantastic choice. Better than any breakfast I have had in this country. Particularly liked the lady making fresh omelettes and fried eggs, never had that service in England. Great hotel on the whole, one of the reasons I chose it is the reviews saying there are lots of sunbeds available, I hate getting up to find there are none left. Every day there was plenty available when going late to the pool. Best place I have stayed, from talking to people around the pool bar there are quite a lot of returning guests, I think that says everything. I think I might be joining them next year. Well done guys. By the way, Pathos is a great place and if you stay here walk down to the beach for a late drink at the small beach bar near Octopus water sports. Lovely sea breeze and view of the sun setting.More

A good hotel and really helpful staff

We stayed at the Avanti Hotel in August 2015 and all the family had a really good time. We were upgraded from the Avanti apartments which included half board too. The food overall was pretty good, with a very good selection for breakfast and although the main restaurant had themed nights across a 7 day period the standard of food was good, even if there wasn't a huge amount of choice. I must congratulate the hotel on their staff, especially the reception team. I unfortunately lost my watch going through airport security on the journey home and the Avanti team managed to trace it and then return it back to me. It was a fantastic service!More
