Hotel Avanti

The Hotel Avanti puts you within easy reach of Paphos’ harbour, pretty old town and petite beach.

One of the Hotel Avanti’s major draws is its location. The property is a short walk from the beach, you’ll find shops, restaurants and bars on the doorstep, and the harbour is 20 minutes on foot.

There's a lot going on at this hotel – expect a big pool and an impressive list of sports, activities and shows. You can also make the most of the facilities at the nearby Avanti Village hotel.

Good and bad points

I'll start with saying that the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and that always makes the difference. Stayed here for 7 nights, initial impression was good with clean tidy room. The bathroom was tired and was in some need of renovation but it was ok. The pool and its surroundings were pleasant and the pool bar went down a treat. Extensive facilities, but a lot were in need of work/renovation in my opinion, particularly the poolside changing rooms and toilets (I did complain on one occasion about he cleanliness, they did say they would send a maid but I opted not to use them). Breakfast was ok, a descent choice, poolside bar was ok ish. Our toilet began to leek, and was promptly repaired, so that was good (the speedy repair, not the leek). It was a family hotel and they catered well for it. Day time activities were good, however I HATE hotel evening entertainment and so we avoided it and went into the local restaurants. More

Another superb holiday

This was our fifth stay at the Avanti Hotel and as usual all the services were excellent. All of the staff are really friendly and welcoming making for another memorable holiday. The evening entertainments are varied, well organised and fun for all ages. Our 4 year old granddaughter enjoyed the activities in the kids club. All in all another excellent holiday and look forward to staying there again. A big thank you again to all at the Avanti.More

Very good and proper 4* Hotel. Everything run very professionally. The hotel was rammed full of people with every room occupied yet there was always around 20 spare sun loungers stacked against a wall for anyone to use at any time of day. For those of us down by the pool early there were loads of sun loungers with umbrellas and tables. Even at peak times i.e. Breakfast and dinner times I only ever had to wait 20 seconds for a lift from the 5th and top floor at the very most which is fantastic. I stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. I like my long lie in's s so only went for breakfast twice in the 2 weeks that I stayed however there appeared to be something for all. At dinner you could take the walk to the harbour which is a 15 minutes along the road or 25 minutes along the beachfront however if you do not fancy walking that far then there are plenty of local restaurants within a 5 minute walk catering for every taste and they are just as good quality as the harbour restaurants are. For those that like Indian food there is a fabulous Indian to the left of the back exit of the hotel. it is past the Avanti Village bars and restaurants on the same side of the street and is very near The Dome. I like eating local cuisine but sometimes you need to try something different and I would highly recommend it. I just wished that I remembered the name of the place! Another strange highlight for me was the toilets at the lobby. At any time of day they looked like they'd just been cleaned. Now here is the slightly crude bit. As I walked to the the urinal scented water showered the urinal before I...well you know. After id done my business the same scented water would appear. As I turned on the tap to wash my hands the hand towel holder would sense my presence and have a new fresh towel ready for me after id washed my hands. All in all an enjoyable 2 weeks in a good/solid 4* resort that doesn't cost the earth. More

Great place

Just returned having spent two wonderful weeks here, the staff were always polite and friendly and our room was cleaned everyday. There are quite a few restaurants and bars near by so we had plenty of choice as to where to go for our evening meal, although you can have a meal in the hotel if you choose to. There are plenty of sun beds lots of room around the pool and a nice swim up bar.For those people looking to book check with all the tour operators as they all go there (Thomson , jet2 etc.) More

" Excellent" in all respects.

This is an outstanding Hotel in all respects. It is centrally located and a brief walk from the beach and the water sport facilities. From the moment you walk through the door you are made to feel very welcome and are served with a refreshing drink. The whole place is immaculate. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size, well equipped and a comfortable bed. Good sized balcony and a view across the pool. The room was cleaned very efficiently every day. Clean sheets and towels daily. The food in the restaurant is fantastic. A differently themed menu each night with a vast range suitable for every taste, excellent value for money! (no need to go out , although there are many places to eat nearby) Renata looks after you with individual attention to ensure that your restaurant experience is not less than perfect. All the staff would go out of their way to ensure that your stay was exactly as you would want it to be. Excellent entertainment each night and throughout the day lead by a very effective and encouraging animation team. The pool is excellent as are all the facilities. This is a family owned Hotel and you are made to feel very much a part of that family. So many personal touches including a champagne reception with the directors and management. The week for us past too quickly. This is our second trip to Cyprus, last year we were in the Larnaca area and had a similar experience there. We cant wait to come again and would definitely stay at the Avanti.More
