Wonderful place to stay!

This was our second stay at this hotel, the first being four years ago and i'm delighted to say that the place just keeps on getting better. It is a family run hotel and the personal touch that it offers is noticable from the moment you enter through the doors to check-in. The little things like the fresh orange juice whilst the friendly and efficient reception staff sort out the paperwork are a nice touch before a porter takes your bags and shows you to your room. We had payed a little extra to assure a pool view and that expense is certainly worth it with a panoramic view over the pool and gardens and also a view of the sea in the background. The rooms themselves are very good, the beds are probably the most comfortable i've slept in whilst on a holiday whilst eveything works exactly as it should. I believe the room we stayed in is, amongst others, down for refurbishment this coming winter, which given that it is hardly in a bad state now shows that the management are not prepared to rest on their laurels. This itself is proven by the weekly 'meet the management' gathering for new guests where they mingle with the customers discussing what they like or any issues they may have and asking for ideas on how things can be improved still further, all this whilst everybody drinks the complimentary fizz and eats the (very nice) free snacks provided. A very nice touch. The rooms, hotel and grounds in general are kept spotlessly clean. New towels every day, bedding changed regularly and the clean pool towel option every day is a god-send in the heat that we had during our stay. The maids do an excellent job and our always very friendly and have a smile on their faces, not always the case in many hotels i've stayed. The food here is fantastic. Renata is the restaurant manger and she is excellent at what she does, always friendly and attentive and gives the impression that she really does apprieciate the guests as opposed to some places where you can at times feel like a bit of an inconvenience. Here you get well looked after by her and her staff who are hard working and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. A big shout out to Mario who was always good to have a joke with! The food quality is very good with plenty of choice and all cooked to a high standard with a different theme every night. Each night has a special offer on a different wine so the drinks don't break the bank either. Breakfast is wonderful and included one of the highlights of the holiday, the lady who cooks the eggs. Never have i tasted an omelette so good! But be them fried, poached or those omelettes to die for she knew how to get those eggs spot on thats for sure. There is plenty of choice for the rest of the breakfast, from the tradional full english to continental, cold meats & cheeses, friuits, cereals etc. The sizeable pool is great and in June/July quite warm, with the swim up bar always a bonus. The drinks there are reasonably priced and a large range offered. The snack bar around the other side of the bar always seemed popular as well although we didn't use it on this occasion as we wanted to try some places out in the local area. There are plenty of sunbeds and brollies around and lots of space, we tended to used the grassed areas but since our last visit the bathing area itself has been extended so there is lots of room for everyone. The animation team go round over the course of the day offering activities for people to do, water aerobics was always popular, as was the archery, yoga and water polo. But there is never any pressure applied and neither are the activities intrusive so if all you want to do is sit back and relax then you'll have no problems whatsoever. The list of other facilities like the gym, sauna, table tennis etc is almost endless. The hotel bar is nice with both indoor and outdoor seating and yet again an army of excellent staff. There is an ever-changing cocktail of the day offer which is nice to take advantage of pre-dinner whilst listening to the excellent pianist playing the grand piano in the corner. Once again a very nice touch that helps set a really nice ambience. Later on from what we saw the entertainment is perfectly acceptable although most of the time we went out after dinner to visit some of the many bars in the near vicinity. The hotel is excellently placed to get to anywhere, there is a bus stop right outside the main entrance with fares €1.50 to the harbour or €5 for a day ticket if you want to go further afield. The harbour is about a 20 minute walk down the idyllic coastal path or a probably touch quicker via the main road which takes you past many bars, resturants and shops. The 'triangle' (which contains plenty of nightlife) is more or less next to the hotel which always has a good atmosphere yet the hotel is never affected by any noise. Turning left out of the back entrance of the hotel takes you past the Avanti Village entertainment complex and then onto more bars & restaurants of varying types so your are never short of somewhere to go. I really can't recommend this hotel enough and it also linked to the nearby Avanti Village that is based around apartments and has its own pool and bar facilties that guests of the hotel can use if they wish. Even the onsite shop at the hotel is competively priced when comparing to the local shops. I look forward to our return, it can't come soon enough!More

Great hotel. Excellent wifi

Stayed as a family of 4. Kid's aged 9 and 12. Ww didn't use the clubs. We booked 2 rooms Hotel great size. Unless you are looking for a huge resort. Bedrooms clean. Large pool. Great location. Short walk to the beach. Loads of places to eat lunch. The general manager made an effort to have a chat with us. He was very interested in any improvements we suggested. Which I found refreshing. Vegetarian food was not amazing but we always found something to eat. Sunbeds were not an issue we usually had a late breakfast and wondered to the pool at 11am. We will be back.More

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the brilliant Avanti hotel. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, always polite. The animation team were respectful when we very kindly refused their offers to join in as we just wanted to lay about, eat, rest and sunbathe! The facilities were second to none, food was of a really good quality, although we only had b&b as we like to go out at night. There being several restaurants very close by with bars showing sports on big screens. (The euros were on) There's plenty of information on "what to do" and transport into town was €1.50 on the bus or €7 in a taxi and is only a few minutes drive away, where you will find many shops and more restaurants. The walk is easy too, but not in the heat of the day!!! We don't normally visit the same place twice, but we've already said we will be going again next year, it was so good. A very special thanks to George who served us our drinks around 1900 every night, who in the last few days got to know us so well he hardly needed to ask us what we wanted, but always checked. " 2 large Keo s please George" it was a pleasure to meet you! Hope to see you next year 😊 Caroline and Anthony xxxMore

We came here for our honey moon last week only arrived back home at 3am this morning words really cant explain how over the moon myself and my husband are with the choice we made with choosing this hotel the facilitates are great even though we didn't use all of them there is such a huge variety of activities to do the pool is were me and my husband spent most of our time and even though it was 46+ degrees the pool was so lovely and the pool bar staff and so polite and kind and treat you more like friends than a guest there all of the staff that myself and Jason came across were truly remarkable we loved them all always smile and always wanting to go that extra mile with helping us and others out we will definitely come back for another visit. We was given a bottle of champagne on our arrival and a card to say happy honeymoon. Our room was cleaned everyday and was given fresh towels the cleanliness of the hotel all in all would definitely be a 5 out of 5 cant really find a bad thing to say about this place thank you for having us and making us feel special xxMore
