Hotel Alexander the Great Beach

A beachside spot, an infinity pool and a new entertainment venue are the big draws at this recently refurbished hotel.

This hotel has one of the best postcodes in Paphos. It’s right by a sandy, Blue Flag beach, and just a 5-minute walk from the shops, bars and restaurants in the stylish harbour.

Following a big refurb in 2013, the hotel now has an infinity pool with a swim-up bar. Rooms had a makeover, too, and feature things like Smart TVs. Six restaurants – including a stylish Japanese – complete the scene.

Alexander the Very Nice.

I can't fault the hotel, facilities or staff and yet I didn't fall in love with the place. As that's not much use to readers of the reviews I'll stick with facts. Location is good, a nice stroll into Kato Paphos along the coast path in the day....not so good at night as it's too dark. Plenty of bars, restaurants cafes and shops in easy reach. Rooms are lovely and spacious, big comfortable beds although I don't like the whole window into the bathroom design, even with the blinds. If one of you is in the bathroom at night the whole bedroom is lit up, even with the blinds down. Breakfast is excellent, lots of choice for every palate, although the coffee was never hot enough for me so I opted to make my own with the provided hit water and instant sachets. Pool is spot on, perfect temperature for swimming or cooling down. Big and wide with nice little jacuzzi pools at one end and swim up bar at the other. Sunbed allocation works, the only downside is that there isn't much space around you and that's a shame, not much space to manoeuvre your umbrella and beds without upsetting someone. We only ate at the pool bar once, it was nice enough but not great value. The rest of the time we are out at the nearby local restaurants. More

Such a beautiful hotel

My husband, daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights, just a short break while on holiday in Limassol. We loved it so much. It's in the perfect location too. We parked the car and didn't get in it again until we left! We walked to the medieval castle and there's lots of restaurants and little coffee shops all along the harbour. It was just perfect! The hotel was absolutely beautiful! I don't understand what it could possibly be missing to not be a 5 star hotel. Everything was definitely 5 star quality, friendly staff, beautifully presented swimming pools, great choice of food at their restaurants and lovely rooms, air con, balcony and free WiFi :) I'd definitely recommend this hotel to everyone! Can't wait to visit again!More

Anna S,

Amazing holiday/wedding/honeymoon

Me and m husband stayed at Alexander from 5th September to 30th. We also married here on the 14th and from start to finish we loved every minute! The staff here work very hard and are really polite. Our maid that cleaned our room everyday made us smile, she was lovely as all the staff here. The rooms are very clean and all pool areas were lovely. The food was good, but although we was half board we ate out pretty much the whole time. Wifi in my opinion was actually good, apart from early evening when it was slow, but guess everyone is on it around that whilst getting ready. Our wedding day, well let me say if you have booked a wedding here you will not be disappointed, it was amazing! The terrace is beautiful and the wedding planner at the hotel will help with anything you ask her to. Everyone at our wedding said it was the best day ever and the breakfast in bed the day after was definitely a plus! If you are looking to book the Alex, you will not be disappointed. Would like to thank everyone at the Alexander and hopefully may return one day in the future.More

Beautiful Hotel and Facilities

- welcome drink on arrival - staff very friendly and attentive - allocated sunbed system so you have the same beds for the duration of your trip. - great cocktails at the swim up bar! - food at bar is ok but expensive for what it is although dinner and breakfast are Buffett style and both have a great choice. - to the bars if you walk out of the hotel and cross the road - walk left until you get to Starbucks and then take a right and there is a small strip of bars which are open in the day and evening till late and a club called touch which opens at 2am when the bars close. - to the restaurants and shops if you walk out of the back of the hotel along the beach front - walk right (not great lighting at night) but about a 10 minute walk to the restaurants and shops. As you are walking you will see it all lit up at the end of the walkway. More

Quick trip

We stayed here for 4 nights in February so it was only a quick trip to visit family but from what we saw of the hotel it was amazing. We didn't eat at the hotel because we had to meet people and go to other places but we did have breakfast a few times and it was really nice. I went to the indoor pool and the steam room one morning and it was very relaxing and quiet. The outdoor pool looked very pretty but we didn't go in it because it would have been freezing in February. The hotel is in a great location only a ten minute walk to the harbour which has lots of things there like restaurants boat trips and shops. You could walk along the coast path to get to it so you can see the other hotels and beaches but I wouldn't walk down there at night as there were no lights and some dodgy people so stick to the road. Overall the place is amazing and we stayed there for a cheap price because it was winter!More
