Hotel Alexander the Great Beach

A beachside spot, an infinity pool and a new entertainment venue are the big draws at this recently refurbished hotel.

This hotel has one of the best postcodes in Paphos. It’s right by a sandy, Blue Flag beach, and just a 5-minute walk from the shops, bars and restaurants in the stylish harbour.

Following a big refurb in 2013, the hotel now has an infinity pool with a swim-up bar. Rooms had a makeover, too, and feature things like Smart TVs. Six restaurants – including a stylish Japanese – complete the scene.

Excellent holiday

Well what can I say. After a very busy year this hotel was just what we wanted. It is a great hotel like its name. From the Manager downwards all staff were excellent. Friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much. On arrival we were given a drink and when we got to our room a cold plate of food was waiting for us (we arrived approx 10pm). What a great idea the reserving of the sunbeds not having the usual towels out at 6am lol. Don't know why other hotels don't take up this concept. Food in all restaurants perfect. The Italian restaurant was perfect the food, staff, ambience was 100%. So relaxing. Cleanliness was excellent nothing was too much. Clean pool towels every day left in your room. As many bathroom towels as you need. We decided to have our sunbeds in the adult only area with the infinity pools three steps away. Can see why many of the guests return on a regular basis. We definitely will returnMore

Wonderful stay

Had a fab stay at this hotel, just myself and hubby for a few days. We had one of the garden rooms with own plunge pool (although too cold in April to use) but we loved it. The rooms were very comfortable and clean with a large bathroom with walk in shower and bath too. Rooms were cleaned daily and tea and coffee replenished daily too. Hotel food was good, service even better. The bar food was also very nice and the cocktail list was really extensive. All the staff we came into contact with were really friendly and helpful. We asked for a late check out and was advised we couldn't keep our room as a new guest was due, however we were then offered an alternative at a cost of €40 as we had been advised when we checked in that this would be an option. On the last day we were advised there were no rooms available which was disappointing and inconvenient as we weren't actually leaving the hotel till 7pm that night. After speaking to the front desk manager and explaining she managed to arrange a room for us thankfully. The entertainment was very good and enjoyable. The hotel was kept very clean at all times and there was plenty of staff to ensure the standards were retained in terms of cleanliness etc. The only slight negative was that we arrived later in the evening around 10pm and by the time we had unpacked there wasn't anywhere we could buy food in the hotel I think from memory it ended at 9.30pm or 10 pm. It would have been nice to have the option of a bar snack or just something. All in all we loved the hotel and would highly recommend it for families & couples.More

Our first trip to Cyprus May 2015

This hotel was through a recommendation and it did not disappoint us in any way. The hotels position was perfect ie a super ten minutes stroll to the harbour each day. The bedroom which was a reasonable size and always kept clean had the most comfortable bed we have slept in for some time. The food was of a very high standard with a buffet choice for my wife who is practically a veggie and we visited the on site Italian Restaurant which was superb and at no extra cost. But it was the attentive efficient staff who made The Alexander the Great great and we will definitely look forward to our visit next year.More
