Hotel Alexander the Great Beach

A beachside spot, an infinity pool and a new entertainment venue are the big draws at this recently refurbished hotel.

This hotel has one of the best postcodes in Paphos. It’s right by a sandy, Blue Flag beach, and just a 5-minute walk from the shops, bars and restaurants in the stylish harbour.

Following a big refurb in 2013, the hotel now has an infinity pool with a swim-up bar. Rooms had a makeover, too, and feature things like Smart TVs. Six restaurants – including a stylish Japanese – complete the scene.

Alexander the Great great great

Where do I start? From the moment you arrive till the day you leave you are really well looked after. We stayed in a garden cabana room (035) from the 21st to 28th august. This room is just outside the adults only section pool. The housekeeping service in the room was excellent. The room is cleaned in the morning and also has a turn down service in the evening with a lovely chocolate left on your pillow each night. Towels are changed as often as required with your new sun bed towels left in room ready for the next day. The room has a smart tv showing several English channels including bbc1 and itv. You can also access your bill at any time with the 'smart' bit. When you arrive you go and visit the pool attendant who allocates your sun beds for your entire stay. If you don't like where you are if you see him he will show you what other beds are available to swap with. This is a great idea and should be taken up with other hotels. Breakfast consists of all the usual items offered at breakfast time with the food quality being good. We were half board and the evening meals were also of a high standard. There was a theme to every evening. You are also able to swap your evening meal for lunch if you want. The hotel also has three speciality restaurants that you can book once per week. The service in these restaurants is exceptional. Service is also very good in all the bars with waiter/waitress service to your table. It would be rude to single out individual members of staff for their good service as every member of staff really looked after us. Saying that Philippa in guest relations, Emma in the restaurant, and the lovely lady who cleaned our room each day went beyond expectation to make our stay enjoyable. Because we were only staying for one week and just wanted to chill out we didn't come into much contact with the entertainment team, but other guests said how good they were. We enjoyed our stay so much that the day after we arrived home have booked again for next year. Thank you Alexander The Great for such a lovely holiday. More

David W,

Just amazing !!!

Stunning hotel with great really hard working staff!! All made 100% better with a pool bar and cocktails. Would recommend to everyone, we went as a party of 8 all different ages and we all loved it!! Rooms were lovely and I highly recommend paying that bit more for the sea view. My mom commented it's the nicest view she's ever had when going away!! Book when you can :)More

Very good

Excellent stay, everything was excellent!! We have had our best experience ever in this hotel. The staff was very polite, the facilities were excellent and the other customers on the hotel were perfect in terms of behavior and attitude. This is not an all inclusive hotel where you can find all sorts of people being really noisy and caring only about the food and the drink. It was quite obvious that the hotel had the best quality of people you can find around.More

Stayed here for 2 weeks with my 2 daughters 17 and 25. Had an amazing two weeks. The sun beds are allocated when you arrive where you want to be and you keep for your stay which is brilliant also the beach towels are in your room and replaced daily. We stayed bed and breakfast which was really good. We did eat twice in the hotel at the Japanese which was excellent and main restaurant on the Cypriot night. It was a calm hotel and ideally situated. You can walk to the harbour. The bus costs 1 euro 50. More

Amazing holiday!!!

We had a weeks holiday here in July and it was absolutely fabulous. Our room looked out onto the sea and was immaculate, the sunbed allocation system is a fantastic idea & we had two fab beds by the serenity pool. Evening entertainment was very good as was the food and service especially at the Italian and Japanese restaurants. You are so well looked after here, the attention to detail is second to none. The spa here is also very good, I recommend the full body deep tissue massage which was the best I have ever had, thanks Bellianna. I left feeling so rejuvenated & relaxed. We enjoyed our week so much we will definately be back. Thank you Alexander the Great for an amazing holiday!!!More
