Hotel Alexander the Great Beach

A beachside spot, an infinity pool and a new entertainment venue are the big draws at this recently refurbished hotel.

This hotel has one of the best postcodes in Paphos. It’s right by a sandy, Blue Flag beach, and just a 5-minute walk from the shops, bars and restaurants in the stylish harbour.

Following a big refurb in 2013, the hotel now has an infinity pool with a swim-up bar. Rooms had a makeover, too, and feature things like Smart TVs. Six restaurants – including a stylish Japanese – complete the scene.

Wonderful!

This hotel is great! The staff are friendly, the food is lovely, the views are breathtaking, it is right next to the beach and a short walk from the main Paphos waterfront and the incredible mosaics. The pools and all other facilities are excellent! The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. We have all had a wonderful holiday and we can't wait to come back next year!! Highly recommended!More

Didn't live up to expectations

After a long day travelling the last thing in the world you want to be told is that the sea view room you have booked and paid extra for is not available until day 3. We were not the only one's to be disappointed as customers who arrived at the same time also had the same problem. Far play to them they got us into the right room by day 2 however that isn't the point. The next issue was with the dress code for the buffet restaurant, I could understand for a restaurant you had to book for, however to ask the bloke to wear long trousers when ladies can go in wearing hot pants, sandals or mini skirts, is quite frankly a joke. It never mentioned anywhere that this type of policy existed and we make a point of checking as we've been caught out with this type of thing before. When I challenged this, to make matters worse they told me 'we'll allow you in on this occasion however you'll need to sit in the corner' !!! They had changed there policy on the day we arrived, which was no good to us as I hadn't brought trousers to wear. When we finally got into our room we were kept awake until late at night with the entertainment, which quite frankly was poor. I wouldn't mind people who could sing however from what we heard, these people couldn't. The specialist restaurants were very good and the food there was excellent, however at lunch time the choice of food was quite limited. On the plus side, if you manage to get a sunbed you wanted, the system they have did work and they were your sun lounges for the duration of your holiday. The rooms were quite big and very clean and overall it was a 'nice' hotel, however not as good as people have commented on. If you like the beach, the one directly in front of the hotel isn't that good however if you face the sea, turn left and walk about 100 yards along the pathway you'll find an excellent beach, without pebbles !! The hotel is ideal for restaurants as there are plenty around and all very reasonable.More

Wonderful Stay!

Can't fault this hotel in any way and in my opinion it should be rated 5 Star! The rooms are comfortable, clean and with plenty of storage. All the staff at this hotel are wonderful and can't do enough to ensure your stay is comfortable. It is situated perfectly on the beach front, only a 10 min walk from the town and harbour with its shops and restaurants so if you are staying on a Bed & Breakfast basis there are a great selection of restaurants nearby to choose from. The hotel boasts an abundance of facilities which is why this is a favourite for people who return year after year. I would definitely recommend it and would not hesitate to return again. Thank you for making our stay with you so perfect.More

The best hotel on Cyprus

Having visited for many years, we have been really impressed with the hotel's refurbishment. This has been completed to modernise the hotel without losing its charm & friendly feel. Without doubt the pool area is now classy but still "swim-able". The rooms are cool & luxurious. As always, service is first class. The unsung heroes are the army of cleaning & site staff who keep every area immaculate with relentless cheer.More

Perfection!

We spent 10 nights at this lovely hotel in September of this year. I honestly can't say anything negative about it at all. On arrival we didn't get the sea view room we had requested at time of booking, but we didn't even care about that after the first day! The staff at reception had explained this on arrival and we were given concessions to make up for same. The room we were given for 2 days until the sea view room was available was still lovely-rooms had been refurbished the previous year to a high standard and were modern, comfortable and well equipped. The hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, the staff are polite and friendly, and the rooms are well serviced. The food was to die for, but not good for the waistline! Sunbeds are allocated on arrival for the duration of your stay, which saves a lot of hassle. The manager is a friendly guy who makes himself accessible to guests every day by doing a walkaround the hotel and grounds. We loved coming back to our room at night to find the 'chocolate fairy 'had been and left us a gift on our pillows! If I had to criticise one small thing, it was that my husband was told to change out of dress shorts for dinner and wear long trousers, but we did see one guest let into the restaurant on a couple of occasions with long shorts on-the staff seemed to know him-? a returning guest. My husband didn't mind changing at all, but should be the same rule for everyone. This still didn't change our opinion of this hotel-we will definitely go back again!More
