Hotel Alexander the Great Beach

A beachside spot, an infinity pool and a new entertainment venue are the big draws at this recently refurbished hotel.

This hotel has one of the best postcodes in Paphos. It’s right by a sandy, Blue Flag beach, and just a 5-minute walk from the shops, bars and restaurants in the stylish harbour.

Following a big refurb in 2013, the hotel now has an infinity pool with a swim-up bar. Rooms had a makeover, too, and feature things like Smart TVs. Six restaurants – including a stylish Japanese – complete the scene.

Grest hotel but the bar needs a lot of work.

I spend a week in Paphos recently. I was brought to the bar in Alexander the great hotel. Beautiful hotel. Clearly had alot of hard work and planning into the decor! Unfortunately when i got to the bar, I was sorely disappointed. Being in the industry, I would expect a certain standard from a 5 star, but that wasn't to be. The bartenders need alot of work and training! Not attentive. One of my fellow travellers orders a frozen margarita and what he was given was nothing short of an iceberg! Completely tasteless, and not a hint of alcohol due to the amount of ice used. As i said above i can not fault the hotel on presentation, but the beverage offer leaves alot to be desired! More

Excellent hotel

This is really a one of a kind hotel. Stayed here with family, including child. We all had a good time. Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast buffet is good. Entertainment is nice and hotel grounds provide ample opportunity for everbody to relax or break a sweat. Staff goes the extra mile to make your stay unforgetable. Would come again.More

Wonderful Hotel

Have just returned after the most enjoyable holiday at The Alexander The Great Hotel. It was our second visit & we were very interested to see how it looked after the refurbishment. It is so nice to be sat down with a fruity cocktail while you fill in the necessary paperwork on arrival. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff ... they were unfailingly cheerful & polite. Our sea view room was lovely with the most fantastic view which was so nice to wake up to every morning. We only had B&B, preferring to eat out in the evenings, so I can't comment on the restaurants but the menus looked interesting. The breakfast buffet was fresh, varied & plentyful ... something to please everyone here! Emma welcomed us on most mornings ... such a cheerful person & very helpful. The rooms are very comfortable & we slept well every night ... the house-keeping staff were first class & kept the room spotless. The pool area was beautifully set out with the big pool for the more energetic. We opted mainly for the adults only Serenity Pool which was very peaceful. One of the best ideas this hotel has is to allocate sunbeds for your entire stay ... so nice to be able to relax & not be worried that you will be unable to find somewhere to stretch out. I wish more hotels would do this ... such a good idea. In short we had the best holiday ever & felt happy & relaxed all the time that we were there!More

Our first visit

On arriving at the hotel we were disappointed having upgraded our room to deluxe side sea view it was not what we expected, we overlooked more the main road and car park than the sea, we were offered another room on the other side but declined as this over looked waste land. We stayed in our room 216 where at the end of our stay all was better than we first thoughts. Our stay for the week was most enjoyable, the staff were all very helpful and friendly the standard of housekeeping was 10/10. The sun-bed allocation was excellent, the location of the hotel could not have been better and Warren and the entertainment team first class. We look forward to our next visit. NoMore

Philip H,

Wedding Venue

We came here for my sisters wedding. It was an excellent venue, supported by friendly staff, and quality food. The hotel will provide the most fantastic memories for all that attended. Other than out wedding party, the hotel was rather quiet and empty, but I presume this was due to the time of year.More
