Hotel Alexander the Great Beach

A beachside spot, an infinity pool and a new entertainment venue are the big draws at this recently refurbished hotel.

This hotel has one of the best postcodes in Paphos. It’s right by a sandy, Blue Flag beach, and just a 5-minute walk from the shops, bars and restaurants in the stylish harbour.

Following a big refurb in 2013, the hotel now has an infinity pool with a swim-up bar. Rooms had a makeover, too, and feature things like Smart TVs. Five restaurants – including a stylish Japanese – complete the scene.

Alexander the Great- certainly is

Everything about the hotel is fantastic. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. All the staff are friendly and so helpful. The cleaning staff keep your room spotless, the chefs are amazing and the restaurant staff are wonderful. The bar staff are great and the entertainment fantastic. The All Stars Entertainment Team work so hard in the day keeping everyone that wants to join in entertained and in the evening their shows are equivalent to mini broadway shows. All the team sing and dance so professionally and their quick costume changes were amazing. Aiden as "Frankie" in the Jersey Boys could easily be on the London stage. Everything was top class and the attention to detail really made it for us. We will be back.More

Can't wait to go back

Our first visit to Cyprus. Loved the hotel. Excellent location. All staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely room with pool and sea views from the balcony. Very clean. Towels and bedding changed regularly. Nothing too much trouble for staff from cleaners, waiters/waitresses, bar staff, etc. Good variation of food in main restaurant. The food from the pool bar (which we sometimes had mid-day) tended to be a bit expensive. Sunbed allocation is a very good system. The evening entertainment by the All Stars was absolutely fabulous. Cannot rate them too highly.More

standards remain high as ever

this has been my third summer visit and everything is as good as previous years. The key as usual is the well-trained and enthusiastic staff, particularly the ever cheerful Emma who seems to have become the heart of the dining division. Congratulations to management and staff for achieving such consistent results. No point me saying any more, just refer to my previous postsMore

Nice hotel but nothing for under 3s

We recently spent two weeks at this hotel for my sister in laws wedding. I travelled with my husband and 2 year old along with other family and friends. The hotel is lovely with the rooms being spacious and a great daily clean service. We had a partial sea view room which did look over the car park but was quiet and as it was way too hot to sit out on the balcony this wasn't an issue. The hotel is in a great location with just a short walk from the harbour. The food in the main restaurant was varied but had no children's section available, luckily most nights there was pasta and rice which my little one likes so wasn't an issue for us but can see it being an issue for other children. The biggest issue with the main restaurant was the fact that it was inside and had no air con so wasn't overly enjoyable eating your meal when it's so hot! There are two other restaurants which you can eat at once a week. A Japanese which was more of an Asian fusion which had great food and service! Also an Italian which was no good for us as children are not allowed which is a real shame so we didn't get an option to eat there! The pool area is lovely with allocated sun beds which was helpful. The kids pool is tiny and not much to it. The beach is small but better than most hotels along that side of Cyprus. Unfortunately it was very rocky getting into the sea so not ideal with little ones. The hotel Doesn't offer all inclusive during peak season which is fine but drinks and snacks are extremely expensive for example ice creams start at 3.80 euros! Overall it's a nice hotel if you're a couple, but for our little one who was 2 there was nothing. She was too young for the kids club which started from age 3 and wasn't able to enter at all. The kids pool was basic and small and there was no park/play area indoors or out.More
