Avanti Village

The Avanti Village’s main draw is its pool scene. In the heart of the gardens is an enormous lagoon-style pool with a waterfall and swim-up bar. There’s also a miniature lazy river, which the little ones can float down on inflatables. Add regular pool games and it’s the ideal place to spend the day with the children.

In terms of location, the complex is just five minutes’ walk from Paphos Beach and 15 from the main harbour. Plus, local buses will run you into town and to a nearby waterpark.

As for accommodation, the village-style apartments are clustered around flagstoned paths and pretty gardens. They’re spacious and open onto balconies or terraces.

On the food front, breakfast features everything from cereals and yogurts to fry-ups. Dinner, meanwhile, comes courtesy of the nearby Avanti Hotel. There’s plenty of choice, including children’s selections and lots of ice-creams and desserts.

Cold pool, brrrrrrr........!

Travelled with 4 kids (2,9,16,17yrs) so we had good value with two apartments. We had the ones on the west side edge (see on A4 map they give you on check-in), which overlooked a wheat field, which we thought was better than the others which looked on other apartments. I would not come here again because the pool was unbearably cold (April, Easter holidays). Apparently it's ok in August. Enjoyed walking along the pretty coastal path (lovely view) to the harbour (The Pelican and Theo's restaurants near the castle were favourites and recommended by the hotel and others), stopping off for an hour at the Deck Beach Bar on the way. The Almyra was lovely to chill at (nr to the harbour) and watch the sunset on grey cushioned sofas.More

What a great place to stay

We have visited Paphos many times but this was our first stay at the Avanti Village. We would definitely stay here again. The rooms were spacious and clean - we were very impressed when they changed the towels daily and the bed linen every other day. There is an offer for breakfast for EUR 4 per person (EUR 2 per child) if you book three or more. What a great breakfast it was - continental or a full fry up whatever takes your fancy and they kept cooking right until 10 o'clock whereas most buffets stop early and you only get whats left - not here! The pool was lovely though a bit cold for me at Easter. A shame the spa wasn't working and the indoor pool wasn't heated but I guess we were in between indoor/outdoor seasons. The staff were friendly and efficient and there is wi-fi in reception but it can be a bit tempremental. The supermarket was gradually being stocked up throughout the week but if you want fresh bread you will need to find a bakery as there was no fresh bread available in the shop. There is a bus at the end of the road which will take you anywhere in Paphos. A single journey is EUR 1.50 but you mayneed to change at the harbour for Coral Bay etc. It is a nice walk as well and there is a coastal path that goes all of the way there. The Ocean basket restaurant at the end of the road is fabulous and we also loved Ficardo which was on the main road towards the harbourMore

Excellent choice!

Avanti did not disappoint. Trust the reviews on this holiday village. Apartment huge, staff very friendly and helpful, location great, apartment cleaned and towels changed daily. Very relaxed atmosphere, would go again. We went self catering and used the pool bar and taverna that were reasonably priced. Burger, chips and salad etc.6 euros. 2 supermarkets on site and one by the pool. Could buy cold beer from fridge in shop for 1 euro or pay 3.50 euros at bar. Cannot comment on hotel as we did not use it, but pleased we hadn't gone half board as hotel was next door but one and not as close as suggested. Getting around was easy. Bus stops outside complex. Harbour bus goes every 10 minutes on circular route. 1.50 euro each way. Option to buy day rider for 5 euros. Covers whole of Paphos area. We travelled to harbour bus station and then went into mountains to visit monastery an hour away and back with this ticket. English speaking staff at bus station to help out. Lots of pubs and restaurants displaying 2 euro a pint signs if you are on a budget. About 20 minutes walk to harbour either along the sea front or through town. Pick up free map and tourist info at airport in baggage collection area. The only disappointments were that the lazy river was more of a lazy dribble as it was only about 4 inches deep and the heated indoor pool was not heated and was actually colder than the outdoor pool that was still quite chilly this early in the season! To sum up, very English (road signs, driving on left, most people speak English) but relaxed, comfortable and friendly place to visit. Resort may be different in high season as April was particularly quiet!More

Fantastic family holiday :D

This was our first visit to Cyprus and the Avanti Village was an excellent choice to stay in. The staff were very helpful especially at Reception, nothing was too much trouble for them. OUr apartment was facing the pool and had ample room for four adults and also had everything we required. Room was also very clean with towels changed every day. We had breakfast a couple of mornings and there was a great selection for everyone. We spent most of the time at the pool and this was also very pleasant with not much noise and plenty of loungers. Was also a good location for nearby restaurants and bars and also a bus stop that took you to the harbour. All in all a great holiday, only downside was the wifi only available in reception and as I travelled with two grown up children they missed having it not in the rooms. Will definately be back and recommend this hotel.More

Fabulous Holiday

I would definitely recommend anyone wishing to visit Paphos to stay at the Avanti Village. The village is well set out with a large very clean pool with plenty of sunbeds. The apartments are spacious and have everything you need for a self catering holiday, they are cleaned every day and clean linen supplied daily. The restaurants on site are very good and reasonably priced. If you want to travel into Paphos town and the harbour the bus stop is right outside the Avanti and takes just five minutes or so. The Avanti Village is ideal for old and young.More
