Avanti Village

This place is only 5 minutes' walk from Paphos' beach and 20 from the restaurants at the harbour. There's a great pool, too, which comes with a waterfall and lazy river.

The Avanti Village’s main draw is its pool scene. In the heart of the gardens is an enormous lagoon-style pool with a waterfall and swim-up bar. There’s also a miniature lazy river, which the little ones can float down on inflatables. Add regular pool games and it’s the ideal place to spend the day with the children.

In terms of location, the complex is just five minutes’ walk from Paphos Beach and 20 from the main harbour. Plus, local buses will run you into town and to a nearby waterpark.

As for accommodation, the village-style apartments are clustered around flagstoned paths and pretty gardens. They’re spacious and open onto balconies or terraces.

On the food front, breakfast features everything from cereals and yogurts to fry-ups. Dinner, meanwhile, comes courtesy of the nearby Avanti Hotel. There’s plenty of choice, including children’s selections and lots of ice-creams and desserts.

Want to go back now!

Just back from our second trip to the Avanti and it was even better than the first. The staff are all top notch (especially Louisa at the pool bar and Tanya at the lobby bar). Rooms are superb as are the pool and surroundings. We asked for the same room as last time, which we got, B231. Ground floor and close to the pool. As me and the missus are cat lovers they were no problem for us and frankly quite welcome. Cleaning staff were excellent and air con after a hiccup worked like a dream. This time we stayed for 2 weeks so used the hotel facilities as well which were superb. Special mention to the staff at the Fiesta bar, now my favourite bar in the world! Already planning another 2 week stay next year and cannot wait to go back.More

Tony R,

Great Holiday

My partner and I have just returned home from a great holiday at Avanti Village in Paphos, Cyprus.(10th - 17th September 2014) This was our first time at this complex, we found the check-in extremely efficient and was dealt with by a lovely friendly lady who could speak excellent English. The accommodation was of an excellent standard, spacious and clean. Towels and bedding were changed on a daily basis, even though the card in the room said there would be no service on Thursdays and Mondays. All the facilities were of an excellent standard, swimming pool, gym and spa. The beach was just a few minutes walk from the complex, with Paphos Harbour around 20 minutes walk away. We will be recommending this holiday location and complex to friends and family. We will definitely return.More

Fantastic Hotel

Stayed in a self catering apartment. Arrived very late at night very tired so how nice it was to be greeted by a huge smile from Keery? on reception. He treated us like we were his best friends and we felt very welcome. All throughout our stay the ladies on reception during the day were extremely friendly and helpful and were happy to tell us about places on the island to visit and good places to eat. Our apartment was huge and very well equipped. A powerful hot shower and comfortable bed and to my husbands delight English tv! The apartment, as was the whole complex, was kept spotlessly clean. We didn't eat in the hotel as we were out in the car most days but what we saw looked good. There is a large pool which isn't deep so safe for older children and a shallower pool for tots. There is also a small adventure play area for smaller children. There are plenty of good restaurants within a few minutes walk, a well stocked supermarket next to the main door and only five minutes from the beach. the harbour is a forty minute walk along the beach or slightly less if you go by road. For those that don't want to walk there is a bus service. All in all we had a fantastic time. Lovely hotel, lovely staff and beautiful island.More

Great holiday

Our 1st time in Cyprus. We spent 10 days here from 30th August. We thought the rooms were spacious. We thought the breakfast was poor but didn't eat anything else in the hotel. You are a bit out of the way but we love walking, so for us is wasn't a problem. We enjoyed the high class restaurants near the harbour and the walk along the beach towards the harbour from our room was beautiful. Best of both worlds. Avoid the close proximity of the bars, venture a little further and you will pay less and drink better quality drinks. Go on a Sunday to the lighthouse etc. as they are free.More

Well, ups and downs

Avanti village is a huge complex, we travelled to Cyprus for our daughters wedding, we arrived on 2-9-14 and departed on 16-9-14. First impressions on arrival, the village is huge, a staff member takes your cases to your apartment, we arrived at 4.15pm- 2.15pm English time, in total there was 9 in our party, 5 adults and 4 children. There is 3 different pools, 1 pool for volley ball, a lazy pool that is suitable for babies to play and the large pool with a pool bar, can't fault the pools what so ever. The apartments are very spacious with tempur mattresses, queen sized beds for master rooms, can't fault this we had a great sleep every night. You will find many stray cats around the complex and Cyprus itself, we adopted a young mum with 3 kittens, fed them scraps and the kids loved them. When we arrived we were all tired and Hungary, there is a canteen just by the pool that closes at 3pm, a little disappointed that there was no where to eat, we had to change and find a local restaurant, we did this most nights, the whole of paphos is just souvenir shops and restaurants, no bars or night life. Avanti village is a sister ing hotel with avanti hotel which is just over the road, you can use there facilities and charge anything to your room at the village, we went there once as a singer was advertised that evening, we walked in to find 5 people there and the youngest must have been age 65, we walked straight out again. ANIMATION TEAM.... So disappointed, they advertise, water aerobics, volley ball, darts but they never walk around to try and get you involved, if you have just arrived you would wonder what's going on. KIDS CLUB.... Even more disappointing, my son age 8, daughter age 10 who has learning difficulties, and my other daughter age 13 took my 2 year old niece to the kids club, we had to sign each child in, when we did there was no energy or enthusiasm from any staff, it actually felt uncomfortable, after 10 mins my 13 year old came back with my niece and said it's boring, 15 mins after that I found my son wondering around the pool area looking for us, he said he was that bored he made an excuse that he needed the toilet which is in the reception area, just so they would unlock the door and let him out, I complained about this as they left him unsupervised and didn't know where the toilet was, I collected my other daughter and they never went back. EVENING ENTERTAINMENT. This gets worse, we went to the entertainment 3 times during our stay, each night was worse than the last, mini disco at 8.30-9 kids loved this, then karaoke played from youtube, worst of it was hotel says free wifi, well your lucky if you get 5 mins out of it before you have to get another code from reception, this did affect karaoke and one night had to finish early because they couldn't get it back on, and there was only 3 tables being used, no atmosphere. INDOOR ACTIVITIES Well there is a gym with limited amount of equipment, indoor un heated pool, sauna that you have to pay for, jacuzzi was never working, so basically it is pointless. You get bath towels and pool towels so no need to pack any. Being on the ground floor, our balcony was on show to the street, just a hedge separating us from the public, we heard that a few others on the ground floor had been robbed, please lock up before you leave, shower is great, also a built in hair dryer. BEACH The local beach is very rocky, we hired a car and drove to Lara beach, this is where the turtles nest there eggs, these nests are protected but you can see the old egg shells all over the beach, also there is a hut in the beach, inside is turtle info and a tank of baby turtles that you can hold, again kids loved it, it is quite a drive away and very hard to find, but worth it. RECCOMMENDED RESTAURANT Golden cafe, the quality of food is amazing, great staff and reasonable prices, we ate here most of our stay. More good than bad on this holiday, but I'm not sure I would return in a hurry.More
