Atlantica Oasis

This place gets the balance between adult-focused and child-friendly just right.

There’s a yin and yang to this place. There’s a quiet adults pool and a pirate one for children. Then there’s an adults-only bar, and a Thomson Kids’ Club through summer this year. And the outdoor cinema that appeals to all.

Location-wise, shops and restaurants are a 5-minute walk away, and the old town is about a 10-minute drive. You can be on the beach in just a couple of minutes.

good but not that good!

Rooms lovely. Very clean. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Plenty sun loungers to go around. Food lukewarm could be more choice. Drinks service at meal time a joke. Some nights myself and my family were halfway through our lunch/dinner before anyone had taken our drinks order. This was a big let down. Other people we spoke to we're having the same problem. Tables were slow to be cleared. This seemed to depend where you were seated in restaurant as some waiters more attentive than others. Mocha cafe lovely and nice staff. Zeta bar good atmosphere. Outside entertainment needs improved. With a few tweaks this could be a good 4 star hotel but in our opinion 3 star. Location was not good we like to walk after dinner at night. Nowhere to go, so please take this into account. If your a family happy to be in hotel all week it would suit fine. Would not return only because of location and we never go to the same place twice.More

"what a welcome and send off"

Just returned this morning from a lovely time at this gem of a hotel with my daughter and my friend. We were late arrivals and greeted with the biggest smile from the reception then invited to have snack and drink. We were a last minute booking and had asked for a room to suit three adults and we were up graded to a junior suite which was lovely but the view and balcony over looking the restaurant roof not so good. We didn't use it anyway except for drying bikinis and sports wear. It was a very quiet room and beds are great with an overlay similar to memory foam. We had a slightly blocked sink in the bathroom, it was fixed immediately on request. This hotel has highly motivated staff we felt it was the beginning of the season rather than 2 weeks to go until the end. They are friendly and very professional in every single department nothing seems too much trouble. The animation team and entertainment working very hard to please guests and achieving it. The food was really good and great value for money on All inclusive which I think is a must here. You would be hard pushed not to find freshly made good food to eat every meal time. Incidently the kitchen is spotless can't see anyone getting ill here. Previous trip adviser noted salt pots didn't shake tiny observation quite true! We booked the outside Al a Carte and BBQ evening food very tasty but the service staff were a bit stretched but still gave their best. The pool areas are really very nice and thought we would spend our time round the adult pool but didn't.Clean beach towels everyday with a good system. Even the gym was adequate when on holiday just needed some in between hand weights. Very pleasant indoor pool which we didn't have time to use! Even when it rained. Pool and Zeta bar excellent service we only drink sparkling wine and gin and tonic plenty of it and we found it fine. The Zeta bar was for adults only which is refreshing when your children are grown up. The location is not so good but regular bus service to Limassol. I missed the beach and sea as sand is dark, beach is tiny and sea not very inviting but my daughter and friend didn't so that was fine. Had a great boat trip all day on the Wednesday weather not so good on shore apparently but lovely out at sea. Our departure was 8pm so we decided to pay for a room extension again great value as it included our drinks and meals all day and evening and we didn't check out until after 7pm giving us a full day. And so to home time it was as the greeting with senior management, travel adviser and animation team making sure you were ok and waving you off. What a lovely gesture. Thank you everyone at the Atlantica Oasis for making us feelwell looked after on our holiday.More

Slightly disappointed

Have just returned from a 2 week stay in the Atlantica Oasis Limassol. We had asked for a 4 star minimum rating when we booked with Thomson, and were assured that this had 4Ts so was to standard. Whilst it wasn't too bad, it definitely wasn't 4 star and in fact we discovered that it's offical rating is only 3 stars. We were on floor 5, where there has been some refurbishment, and the lift was tiny - it held two people comfortably but 4 - well we were really up close and personal! Because we were over the front of the hotel it could be somewhat noisy into the early hours with people and coaches coming and going; there was also a taxi firm close by and some noise from this and the nearby motorway. Our main complaint would be the standard of the room Size wise it wasn't too bad, but the balcony was tiny - just enough room to hold 2 plastic chairs and a small round table but one person had to move to get in and out of the room. There was a light fitted but it didn't work and when we asked for it to be fixed we were informed that all the balcony lights were non functional now. The bathroom had been upgraded and the 4th wall was partially made of obscured glass - this meant you couldn't put the light on without it lighting up the bedroom, so waking your nearest and dearest. The hot tap in the sink was a trickle and took for ages to get warm, whereas the shower was fine - almost instantaneous hot water - so we used an empty bottle to fill the sink. The toilet, as a result of the glass wall, was very close to the bath (too short even for me to sit in with my legs straight and I'm only 5'2") and the toilet paper got wet most time when we showered because of where it was situated. The other niceties missing? - a box tissues in the bathroom and tumblers to hold your toothbrushes. The room wasn't cleaned on a Sunday, but was kept really nicely otherwise. It was the little things that just took the edge off - coffee from a machine at breakfast/dinner, and only breakfast or green tea to choose from and then a tea bag and hot water from the machine and no jugs for milk; having to wait to be seated even for breakfast; no fresh orange juice available - just from a tetra pack despite it being Cyprus where freshly squeezed juice is so normal. The reception staff were really helpful and the dining staff were friendly; the coffee shop was good with reasonably priced snacks; the adult only pool was a boon for peace and quiet; the reception/bar areas were well furnished and had free wi-fi; The food was pretty good considering the numbers being catered for - and had a good selection for breakfast and dinner - we didn't have lunch - even having bowls of plain and fruit yoghurt available for both meals. Finally where the hotel is situated isn't great if you want access to a beach. It might say it's a few minutes from one but doesn't tell you that you have to cross over a busy 4 lane main road and then the nearest beach is only tiny. To get to a decent one you have to take a bus trip. Overall it was really good as a 3star, but fell short on the niceties that make a 4 star hotel.More

Excellent Hotel

We stayed at this hotel for a week in October this year. Rooms very well furnished and spotlessly clean. A good variety of food on the buffet to cater for all tastes with a special section for children. Beautiful extensive pool areas with a pirate ship area for children and a large indoor pool. No shortage of sun loungers by the pools. Activities for adults daily in the main pool and a great kids club which our 7 year old granddaughter enjoyed. Evenings were well organised by the entertainment staff starting with a kids disco, short game of bingo and professional style cabaret show. Paul Thomas the comedy magician was first class along with an acrobatic/fire- eating act. Don't miss the Manager's cocktail evening with drinks and canapes, All areas of the hotel were clean, well maintained and of a high standard. All staff were friendly and helpful.More
