Atlantica Oasis

This place gets the balance between adult-focused and child-friendly just right.

There’s a yin and yang to this place. There’s a quiet adults pool and a pirate one for children. Then there’s an adults-only bar, and a Thomson Kids’ Club in July and August 2015. And the outdoor cinema that appeals to all.

Location-wise, shops and restaurants are a 5-minute walk away, and the old town is about a 10-minute drive. You can be on the beach in just a couple of minutes.

Lovely hotel

Me and my partner have just returned from a week at the Oasis and loved it. Despite arriving very late at night we were welcomed with cold drinks and the restaurant had been opened so we could help ourself to coffee, sandwiches and crisps. When we were ready we were shown to our room, our cases had already been taken up. We had a double room in the block by the pool. The room was spacious and very clean with air con and a mini fridge. TV had various English speaking channels including news and sport. The balcony is a little on the small side but still comfortable with a table and chairs. Lots of wardrobe space with plenty of hangers. It was my birthday while we were there and when I returned to my room after a day by the pool I found a cake, fruit platter, bottle of wine and a card from the hotel staff and managment, This was a really nice touch! The restaurant catered for all tastes and ages from the children's section with burgers and pizza to tradional Cypriot food. There was plenty of food and always warm. You're shown to your table at lunch and dinner, rather than trying to find a free table. Drink orders are taken and you have to sign for drinks, as you do at all other bars in the hotel, which isn't something I've come across before in any other AI hotel but it wasn't any bother and you soon got used to it. The pool areas are very clean and there are lifeguards on duty. The first few days we had no problem finding a bed but towards the end of the week it was a little difficult due to beds being reserved already at 7am despite people not sitting on them until gone 12, this is despite the hotels policy of not reserving beds. The hotel had mainly British and Russian guests, all staff speak excellent English and we're all helpful and polite. Overall this was a lovely relaxing holiday in a nice hotel, we will definitely be returning.More

Just returned this morning already looking to book again!!

Just returned from a week at the Oasis with my family. Absolutely loved it here. The hotel is spotless and our room was lovely. We stayed on the 4th floor overlooking the pool in a family room. Room was huge and the views were stunning, we could also see the sea in the distance. The pool area was really nice with plenty of sunloungers and loads for the kids to do. I would say the food is one of the highlights of the hotel. There is plenty of variety at each meal time, never had a bad meal. The mocha cafe is also lovely for cakes and snacks. We also booked in to the bbq and the a la carte the food was amazing at both. The service throughout the hotel was excellent from the reception staff to the dining staff to the bar staff everyone was really helpful and friendly. I would like to make a special mention to the entertainment staff. They were all brilliant especially with my little boy. Each entertainment programme they put on was great and my little one loved the kids disco. The comedy magician that came in was also brilliant he was hilarious. We will definitely be returnimg to this hotel next year!More

Friendly hotel

We stayed here for a week over Easter. The hotel itself is clean with friendly staff. The children's water play area is amazing, probably the best I've seen anywhere. The buffet food was fantastic. I'm not keen on buffets, but this was probably the best I've ever had. We did the a la cart night one night and that was lovely food, but the service was very slow. There were 2 big problems for me with this hotel. The first was the area. There is literally nothing to see in walking distance of the hotel. We caught the bus into Limassol and down to the ruins (which aren't worth visiting) and hired bikes one day and cycled along the coast (which was really nice). We also hired a car through the Thomson rep and toured the island a bit. When we visited Paphos we really thought we should have stayed there instead as it was so pretty. The other big problem with the hotel is the entertainment. There were just 2 people doing the entertainment (3 by the end of the week), so each night the "Family Fun Night" was a quiz, the "Cabaret" was a quiz etc etc. There was an awful magician on one night which we walked out of. There were a few good singers in the adults only bar, but these were only on 3 times during the week we were there. It really was the worst entertainment I have ever seen and hence the 3 stars. Unless you get up early and rush to get a sunbed you couldn't sunbathe in the immediate vicinity of the pool, but you could usually ask someone to bring another sunbed out and it would be put on another area next to the pool area. We had a room overlooking the Nag's Head pub and there was a lot of noise coming from there at night when we had gone to bed. We did have a lovely holiday but if we went back to Cyprus we would probably stay in Paphos.More

My hubby and I stayed in the oasis 19thapril to 29th very enjoyable stay ..we were all inclusive. Food was very good and plenty of choice for lunch and dinner. Plus side it has a cafe so you can have Cake and coffee .there is a all adult bar with entertainment as well as lots for children in the main venue .staff were really helpful and polite .would recommend this hotel .the only downside was there is not much in the surounding area if u wanted to have a night out. The busses very good and plenty to go into limmisol or Paphos .More

Perfect first mother/daughter holiday!

We stayed for a week from 19th April, booking 3 weeks in advance through the Thomson website which was very easy to use. We got a great all inclusive deal including a late check out which was worth every penny of the £35 as we felt it gave us an extra days holiday. Our room was on the 4th floor with a lovely view of the pool and was sunny all afternoon and evening. The room was very clean with comfortable twin beds, large mirror with desk top, UK plug sockets, a mini fridge, 2 extra chairs and a small table. Bathroom was spacious and spotless and had the most powerful shower I have ever had on holiday! The pool area was also very clean with adequate sunbeds although as previous reviewers have said the pool was absolutely freezing so we often went for a swim in the indoor pool which was surprisingly quiet and then returned to our sunbeds. The food was excellent with a wide variety of choices at every meal and contrary to another review there ARE plenty of Cypriot choices which I would really recommend people try rather than sticking to the more familiar choices. We were amazed at the number of adults who were helping themselves to the childrens buffet of chicken nuggets, pizza and chips!! Particular highlights for me were the fish dishes, slow cooked lamb, aubergine bake, grilled vegetables, halloumi, salads and the wonderful lemon polenta cake! The restaurant is large and could be quite noisy but we tended to eat later when it had quietened down. It was nice to be shown to a table where drinks orders were immediately taken, wine is served by the glass but I did see several tables with bottles, the house wine is very drinkable. We booked the a la carte dining as we were told it would be indoors but unfortunately on the night they moved it outdoors which was a shame as it was too cold to eat comfortably. The food however was excellent especially the moussaka and chocolate dessert and the service very good. There is also a coffee shop where as part of the all inclusive deal you can get drinks, pastries, cakes and sandwiches in between meals. There was an excellent choice of cocktails which were of a decent quality, served in appropriate glasses with lovely garnishes. I found the bar quite dark and it was a bit chilly to be outside in the evening so we tended to take our drinks to the lobby area. Wifi in all public areas was quite fast most of the time. Last but certainly not least I would like to thank all the staff at this hotel who really are outstanding - hard working, courteous, helpful and friendly and are a credit to the hotel. I had a lovely relaxing time with my daughter and would not hesitate in recommending the Atlantica Oasis to family and friends.More
