Atlantica Oasis

This place gets the balance between adult-focused and child-friendly just right.

There’s a yin and yang to this place. There’s a quiet adults pool and a pirate one for children. Then there’s an adults-only bar, and a hotel-run kids’ club from May 2016. And the outdoor cinema that appeals to all.

Location-wise, shops and restaurants are a 5-minute walk away, and the old town is about a 10-minute drive. You can be on the beach in just a couple of minutes.

Average - not a 4 star

Stayed the last week of October. Staff very pleasant and food ok. However stayed in the main hotel part. Rooms are dire. Small balcony. Pillows are foam and like cardboard about an inch thick. Sheets are not cotton very scratchy against your skin and a tatty blanket. No extras in the room which you would expect. Towels are grey looking and small so any woman wanting to dry her hair you can't wrap your hair with it. Soap is in a dispenser by the shower and it was cheap and nasty. No other extras in room no tea or coffee facilities. Very very basic. Disappointing for the money we paid.More

Extremely well run hotel

Booked with Thompsons who had a strong team at the hotel to advise and help if required. Reception very welcoming and pleased to ensure your stay would be good during our stay. Our rooms overlooking the pool were modern and well furnished with fridge to put your own drinks in, TV has many English channels if you wanted to stay in and watch the soaps or football. The only down side for the room was the very small balcony, just about got two chairs and small table on it. Restaurant served a very wide range of meals to keep the most people happy, good selection of meat &fish dishes every day, breakfast selection all you would require for a full English if you wanted. Service in the restaurant was good and well organised by the experienced Maître d, you were never keep waiting to be seated in this very busy restaurant for many minutes. House wine was of good quality and taste. The contact entertainment team worked hard in the day around the large pool entertaining the children and adults alike. There is a small adults only pool with it own bar, very relaxing but you need to get there early due to the limited beds and as normal the towel brigade seen to have taken the best beds before you get up this was also true with the main pool but you could always fins a bed here, as always the hotel do have notices up put if they do not enforces the rule it has little effect. Evening entertainment was predominantly done by the contact team from TMc entertainments staring with the bingo after the children's part. Although they tried hard at best they we amateurish to poor. To keep the residents in near by properties happy with the noise, the hotel is situated two blocks from the main road in a mixed residential area most of the entertainment is held in the downstairs ballroom. They did have two nights were acts from out side performed a Magic show and acrobats performing outside. The adults bar had live music on most nights and live uk football. Service was quick with a tried and tested system of ordering at the front of the bar and receiving a receipt to hand to the bar person. Drinks in the all inclusive were predominantly local copies, beer was fine. Wi fi was the best we have had in any hotel, free and a god signal around the hotel well done Atlantic lets hope some of the other greedy hotels follow your example for a service that cost you little but goes along way to keep your gust happy. Our overall experience of the hotel when you take in the fact that it is catering for all age groups they do a very professional job to make sure everybody has a good holiday. The only down side to the holiday was not the hotel but Thompsons black mailing tactics of making you pay extra to sit with each other on the plane, our party 4 were split up over the plane both outbound and returning, This was very cruel as it was our 47 wedding anniversary and this was the first time we were parted in all theses years, well dome Thompson you know how to spoil a holiday before it starts. If they need the money that bad why don't thy jus included the cost into the holiday cost or is that to difficult.More

Average environment with some good points

A replacement holiday for Tunisia which was disappointing in part. The hotel was clean and tidy. Rooms as described although ours suffered from a problem with the airconditioning. The problem was resolved swiftly and the dry cleaning of clothes it necessitated was offered without prompting and delivered as was indicated. The restaurant is busy but waiting not a major issue before being shown to your table. All inclusive stayers may get fed up with giving room number for drinks but there are a multitude of different packages staying in the one place. Choice includes local dishes. There is a small lower section for kids to join in the experience. Did I mention kids??? There were a lot. Most of the time the pool area was dominated by them some better controlled by parents than others. The main pool where people tended to stay is also used for water polo, aqua robins and volleyball so for chunks of the day is unusable for just lounging in or by. There is a small kid friendly area attached. Beware the bar area -looks good but wet feet can lead to some slips and falls. There is an adults only pool to the front side of the hotel by the road but screened by trees from the noises and view...unfortunately half of the pool was in shade. Some issues relating to the decking means mind where you walk. Access to the indoor bar is easy just mind shoes needed. Dress code is noted for dining in the evenings - it isn't (wasn't) enforced. If you're not going to enforce it don't say there is one. Staff - multilingual almost without exception. Languages appeared to be from the following...Greek, English, Polish, Russian, Swedish, Norwegian, Turkish. It's easy enough to get to Limassol town and cheap at €1.50 each way and worth doing. Do take a trip to the Occupied Territory but be cautious where you point your camera when there. So the hotel is ok...kid friendly and useful for travelling locally...but it isn't a 4* for me.More

A week at the oasis

The rooms were lovely. Clean and ours was spacious with another seperate room with a further two beds! We arrived late after a delay at the airport. The restaurant was open with a small selection of sandwiches and crisps and fruits. The sandwiches were dry and not very appetising and we opted to just go straight to bed. The beds were comfy and tv in the room had a few English channels including 2 with films. The restaurant was ok for the first few days but it did all become a bit of the same foods day in day out, which is what you would expect from an all inclusive 4*. Breakfast was ok but lunch appeared to be left overs from the night before. The cafe was convenient however this again just had pizza and other snacks in the afternoon left over from lunch! The pool bar was ok, but when asking for a kir royal and it came to me warm, and in a half pint glass, I opted to walk around to another bar to get it in a proper glass and chilled! We had the bbq one night which was nice but again, not the best but nice to have some freshly cooked meat and halloumi! The location was quiet and not much going on. A McDonald's near by if you want that sort of thing.More
