When the doors open at this new boutique hotel, you’ll be able to enjoy its beachside location and two pools.
The King Jason Protaras opened its doors in April 2016, modelled on the popular King Jason Paphos at the other end of the island, which is TripAdvisor's number one hotel in Paphos. This place will boast a luxury boutique style. And to top it off, it’s right next to a beach.
Location-wise, you’re next to a popular sandy beach. Within a 10-minute walk, you’ll find a selection of cocktail and karaoke bars, as well as Cypriot tavernas.

We came on our honeymoon short notice as we was meant to be going to the Dominican and I got pregnant so because of Zika virus We had to cancel. The food was absolutely amazing! Everything was so fresh and different every night. The drinks at all inc are usually in little plastic cups but here they are in big cups! All the drinks we had where very nice but I can't comment on the alcohol. The rooms are so modern and practical. Not very big but the way it is set out it doesn't matter. The pools where FREEZING but they had only been filled with water a couple weeks before we went. They where beautiful though. Only 2 min walk to the beach and 5 min walk to the strip. I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat! The staff and management was amazing and would bend over backwards to help you! Thank you so much for an amazing honeymoonMore
Those photos look amazing.....
Having booked based on the Thomson website, King Jason Facebook page plus trip advisor reviews we thought we were heading to somewhere amazing....Conclusion- it was just okay. If you are a traveller that stays in real 4/5 Star properties you will be disappointed like we were. This hotel is 3 Star plus maybe just a 4 star. The hotel previously sat empty for a number of years and you can still see the run down site that has gone through a cheap renovation program by Louis hotel chain to open as King Jason. Firstly, thank you to the staff of King Jason, they all worked amazingly hard covering more than 1 role to help run as smoothly as possible. However, staff uniform lacks, staff wore only TShirts provided by the hotel. 4 Star hotels should operate a full staff uniform. Especially when working during dining times. The manager was keen to talk, however as our week when on he was very distant from us. He appears not to like to hear anything bad said about the hotel. We told him we were disappointed with our room which was on the ground floor number G5 and that we would like to see the best room in the hotel incase of return....his reply was "you have the best room" Room - very odd layout, TV by the door so can't see it from bed. No drawers in the room. Just 1 single standalone wardrobe and then some shelves above the kitchen area. See my pictures. Lacks storage area. The wallpaper was inside down, which highlights the 3 star rating. We had a problem with Ants during our stay. The last night was very rough and windy, the wind whistled through the door frame. Food - its was pretty good overall, breakfast for me was terrible, they could fry a egg to save their life, but the fully inclusive lunch wasn't a long wait. Both Lunch and Dinner was much the same but all good. We had real prawns one night, I asked for wipes for fingers....sorry Miss, I will bring you a bowl of water. Pool - never saw them clean the pool area once. 4/5 Star hotels washing down the area and sunbeds daily. Guests loved the mattress sunbeds but I've not stayed in a hotel that hasn't got these as standard. Taking a closer look at some of the furniture around the pool and it appeared old, the sun umbrellas were mouldy and dirty. The table and chairs outside our room was old. Were these items from previously hotel years back or second hand items? Who knows but they definitely weren't 6 months old. So our conclusion, majority of guests were northern and maybe standards were lower than ours but we paid 700 each for a week of sunshine in October. The price in the summer is ranging from 900 to 1200 each for a week ....if you pay this you are mad.....my tip book Sunrise Pearl Spa Hotel out....that's a real 4/5 star hotel....if you do book King Jason, take a walk to look around, then compare. Lastly at check out they asked for your email address for a questionnaire, I said to my partner we won't get that. We hadn't made any complaint during our stay but they could see we wasn't all over them like most guests were. Guess what....no questionnaire ever arrived....asked a number of times via Facebook to resend, but nothing. They don't welcome what you think...it's the King Jason way or the highway. For us the Highway to Paphos and the Alexander the Great, a real 4 star plus.More
I recommend this hotel for your Protaras holiday Friendly, helpful Staff. The room was very comfortable, exceptionally clean, no noise from outside. Everything one needs. Access to the centre of Protaras, a few minutes walk to the shops, the restaurants and bars.More

2nd Visit this year and just gets better!
Having visited the King Jason Pretoria in May this year we decided to return as we had such an amazing time. We weren't disappointed. It was even better this time. We were treated like royalty for returning. The manager and all of the staff remembered us. We returned with a couple we made friends with at the King Jason earlier in the year. They put us in the 2 best rooms in the hotel with the largest balconies. We both had a bottle of champagne in the fridge and a bowl of fresh fruit. The whole holiday from that point on just got better and better. Service was as good as before (it couldn't get any better), the buffet food is still the best buffet food we have ever eaten with fresh grilled meats and fish every day. The roast joints they do on a daily basis are melt in the mouth as is their gravy which rivals my moms (but please don't tell her). There is also a healthy section for breakfast, dinner and tea for those who don't want to over indulge and it looked gorgeous (although we hardly touched it as we are on holiday to be naughty). The pool waiter service starts around 9am and continues all day until around 6pm (I think as we are normally having a siesta by this time) serving cocktails, soft drinks and any alcohol you want (be warned, their measures can knock your socks off so I used to ask for a 'small alcohol' drink which they understood and we're just to my taste). They also bring round a shot of fresh blended juice in a morning which helps with the hangover (I'm really not an alcoholic even though I seem to be painting that picture, I just like to indulge on holiday). The rooms are 'boutique' in style which we love. The showers you will never want to get out of. 90% of the rooms have a sea view and as the hotel is situated right at the end of Fig Tree Bay you get the most amazing views of the bay and sea. Each room also has its own iron and ironing board, kettle with teas and coffee daily and hairdryer. The hairdryer didn't reach the main mirror in the room we stayed in this time so we mentioned it and the same day an extension lead turned up in our room. Honestly, if there is something you need or are missing in the room just ask reception. They are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. Back to the location. Being right on the bay it's just a 5min walk along the stunning promenade to the Pretoria strip which is about 1mile long of bars and restaurants. Drinks aren't expensive, nor is the food. Some bars charge ore than others but generally 3 to 4 euros. It's also a 15min taxi ride to Ayia Napa if you fancy a night outout. Taxis are a set price of 20 euros each way but their Taxis can seat people so ask around the pool in the day and get a group of you to go. This hotel is going to be adults only in 2017 as a heads up but the style of the hotel suits this. It was also our wedding anniversary and our friends birthday while we were there which we notified then via email before we went. They gave us an anniversary bottle of champagne and made a real fuss of us and our friend they made a bday cake and presented it to her by the pool in the afternoon and all sang happy birthday. A lovely touch. Made her feel special. We also ordered a bouquet of flowers fir her which reception sorted for us, we just gave them our budget. Finally, from a couple who stay 5* all inclusive in Mexico every year (which is famed for being some of the best all inclusive in the world), we really rate this hotel it's top notch. Yes, it hasn't got the a'la carte restaurants that we love but the different themed evenings are great and yo can always eat out for about 12euro each. Our top tip for a meal out of top top quality is called 'La Cultura De Gusto'. It's a taxi ride but only 10mins away (10 euros each way). Steaks are out this world by they have some rare breed meats like boar and kangaroo if you fancy something different. It's an American lady and her Cypriot husband who own it and they are so friendly. Proper chatty. We spend around 80 euro of a 2 course meal in total (the portions are massive so couldn't eat desert) but as it was our anniversary meal it was worth it. So much so that we re-booked it and went again for our friends birthday. Amazing hotel, staff and food. For a short (ish) Hall flight this is well worth the money. More
