The Sunrise Pearl Hotel & Spa counts a brilliant dining scene, a state-of-the-art spa and an attractive pool area among its best features.
This place has scored a plum position on one of the area’s best beaches. It means you’re only steps from the sand, and a short stroll takes you into Protaras, where you’ll find a cluster of tavernas and cafés.
The hotel is really stylish – think geometric marble pillars coupled with softly curved recesses. The pool scene’s pretty swish, too. You’ll find Balinese-style daybeds framing the water.
A few minor issues to resolve but not far off perfection....
We travelled in August 2015 as a family (two adults and three children) and had two rooms for two weeks at the hotel (room numbers 112 and 128) - one a Junior Suite and the other a Double with Sea view. The rooms were spotless, nicely furnished and well equipped. On the slightly negative side, the WiFi in both rooms was pretty poor, making it almost impossible for me to stay in touch with the office and frustrating my two teens who were keen to upload and share their various holiday photos on social networking sites. In the reception area, however, the WiFi was more than acceptable.
Also, and again a slight negative, the Air Conditioning in one of the rooms wasn't up to scratch. This led to a few nights of musical beds where the kids were desperately looking for the coolest place to sleep..
We took the half board option and managed to secure spots at all the restaurants included in the programme. Marcello's (one visit), Lemongrass (one visit) and the Kyklos Greek Restaurant (two visits) were outstanding, as was the hotel's in-house Waterfall restaurant (every day for breakfast and several evenings for dinner). Our dinner at the Reef was, however, one of the worse meals we have had anywhere for a long time. The starters were barely acceptable and the mains were practically inedible. Maybe they just had a bad night but my advice is to avoid. We also had a lovely lunch at the Fishbone restaurant which encouraged us to book a dinner there during our second week. We shouldn't have - the dinner was well below the level of cuisine I would expect to be served at a Five Star hotel. This was all the more disappointing after the wonderful lunchtime experience. Different chefs on duty maybe?
Enough of the negatives. The staff in all areas of the hotel were absolutely first class. Everyone mentions George and Angelos and I have to agree that their commitment to the customers is exceptional - but that goes for all staff in all areas of the hotel. I could not fault one member of staff from the Receptionists through to the Maids. The communal areas are maintained to an exceptionally high standard with real attention given to cleanliness.
On departure I completed a customer feedback form and was surprised to receive an email from the manager a few days after we returned promising to address the issues I'd raised. That speaks volumes for the level of professionalism that exists within the hotel's staff and management.
Overall we had a lovely, relaxing holiday and we'll definitely be returning at some point in the future.More
It depends what you want
i agree with all of the fantastic reviews on this hotel as the accommodation and service really are first class. If it's a quiet holiday you are looking for this hotel is worth the money. It is very relaxed and at no point feels too busy or over crowded like so many hotels. All the staff are really polite and genuinely seem to want to a good job looking after you. Many reviews mention the restaurant manager who works really hard every day running an immaculate restaurant. Allocated sun loungers, cold towels and fruit in the afternoon and a choice of dine around options raise the level of this hotel above most others. If you want a lively hotel with plenty to do for kids and adults with evening entertainment this is not for you but if it's relaxation and luxury you want then this is what it does really well. I can only give it top marks because what it does it does really well and it's better to be one thing or the other rather than try and cater for everybody but not very well. One thing to be careful of the jacuzzi suites are very near the club nearby so can be noisy until 2.00 am which is a shame as otherwise they are great. Having said that we complained about the noise and was upgraded to the suite with its own pool which was absolutely fantastic.More

Number one hotel in Protaras!
Just arrived back from a wonderful 10 day stay at the Sunrise Pearl, it was amazing and the staff really made our holiday. Every single one of the staff went above and beyond to see to our comfort, especially the pool bar staff who were welcoming and entertaining. We have stayed in various hotels in Protaras and this one is definitely the best by far. The food is delicious (as are the strawberry daiquiris) and the various restaurants you can eat out at as part of the half board option are top quality, especially the Fishbone restaurant which overlooks the sea. Our room was very comfortable and spacious...I would always pay a little more to have a sea view as there is nothing better than sitting on the balcony watching the sunset (this was made even more enjoyable as we were sent up complimentary champagne to celebrate our second year wedding anniversary). So overall this is a terrific 5* hotel that we will be going back to time and again.More
