The Sunrise Pearl Hotel & Spa counts a brilliant dining scene, a state-of-the-art spa and an attractive pool area among its best features.
This place has scored a plum position on one of the area’s best beaches. It means you’re only steps from the sand, and a short stroll takes you into Protaras, where you’ll find a cluster of tavernas and cafés.
The hotel is really stylish – think geometric marble pillars coupled with softly curved recesses. The pool scene’s pretty swish, too. You’ll find Balinese-style daybeds framing the water.

Stayed in the hotel for a week in September 2014, the experience was great from start to finish. We were welcomed by the very helpful staff and checked in, whilst enjoying a lovely fresh drink provided as soon as we walked through the door. The room was great, it had all the amenities needed and more. We stayed in a swim up suite which was amazing, although the pool was pretty cold. The sun beds are all allocated so no need to rush in the morning to beat you know who and stake claim to a bed. The pool area is lovely, with staff walking the area to take food and drink orders all day. The food is great, we stayed half board, the selection at breakfast was very good with chefs there cooking eggs and omelettes to order. Dinner was great, we had the option to eat in a number of near by restaurants which we did a couple of times but none were a patch on the restaurant in the hotel. It's nice to have different scenery but I would not bother eating elsewhere given the quality of the food in the hotel, the high level of service and great atmosphere (with piano player). The hotel is right on the beach with is great, and also in the heart of town so its a very short walk to the local bars and shops. Great hotel, worth the extra money to stay in the best place in the resort, had a lovely relaxing stay.More
One of the best hotels we have stayed in!!!
We have just returned from 10 nights at the Sunrise Pearl. It is a beautiful hotel and the staff are extremely attentive and friendly, especially George in the restaurant. The hotel is in a central location, but not noisy, and on a nice beach. There are some lovely walks along the front going to Pernera where there is a pretty harbour and chapel, and Fig Tree Bay in the other direction. The allocated sunbeds are a fantastic idea as there is no scramble for them as in most other hotels. Originally we had booked 3 excursions through Thomson but, disappointingly, they cancelled 2 of them! We ended up booking them independently with a company called Road Sun and saved ourselves 55 euros each! We did a fascinating trip to Famagusta to see the ghost town and a 4 hour boat trip including lunch on the Aphrodite. The 'Love Cyprus' excursion was the only trip we did through Thomson where we visited Kourion and Kolossi Castle, as well as Omodos village which was lovely. The trip included a delicious Cypriot lunch in a Taverna. The only criticism of the hotel was that the food, although of exceptional quality, could have been hotter. The salads were very imaginative and varied, the desserts some of the best we've had, and lunches were also excellent. Overall, it's one of the best hotels we've stayed in.More

Atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Rooms, restaurants and facilities perfect but for me the friendly and helpful staff are what made the hotel special. Could not do enough for us and made us feel like individuals and not just another holidaymaker. 100% recommend.More
A great 5* hotel with a few minor disappointments
We arrived at the hotel around 11:30pm after a long day travelling. Unfortunately there was no "welcome" as we have experienced in many other hotels previously. The single receptionist took some time to book us all in and told us there was no food, but we would receive a free lunch tomorrow as we were on half board. Some orange juice arrived after 10minutes or so and then we headed straight up to the room to raid the minibar for some snacks, whilst waiting for the porter to bring our suitcases (took ages). We ate the nuts, the kitkat and the crisps and it only cost us â¬20! Other than the we can't really fault the hotel. The rooms were very nice, modern, clean and well presented. The hotel and grounds were immaculate. Service from the staff was brilliant at all times. As for the food... It was absolutely outstanding. Breakfast was brilliant, but the evening meal in the main restaurant was something special. The hotel offers choice of other restaurants in its sister hotel and on the strip, personally I'd give them a miss. The Italian and Asian on were not bad, the American diner in the sister hotel was appalling and should not be inflicted on anybody. Had I had a bill to pay I would have refused. The Greek restaurant was unfortunately closed for refurbishment, but there was so much choice in the main restaurant it didn't matter. Some very minor negatives were that the pool temperatures were freezing and you lost more than your breath when you jumped in. Unfortunately the indoor pool which was supposed to be heated was faulty and also cold. It's a shame not any of the outdoor pools were heated just to take the chill off this time of year. You are allocated sun beds on the 1st day. This is good as it stops the race with the Germans to get down and choose the best ones. You just have to hope the place you want to be is free on your 1st day. It's only mildly frustrating when the sunbeds are empty but your not allowed to use them. It wasn't hot the week we were there 26-30 degrees and below 20 at night. The only issue is that's still warm for us Brits coming out of winter hibernation. I prefer it cool in the evenings, but the hotel hadn't switched on the air con yet, therefore I struggled to sleep even with the balcony door wide open all night. On check out day we were due to be picked up at 19:30, however check out from our room was midday. We spoke to reception about the possibility of a late check out so we could get changed etc and we were told by the receptionist our room was vacant for the next two days so there wouldn't be an issue with a late checkout, however the privilege would cost us â¬50. We made use of the poolside changing facilities instead. Although there were some minor annoyances the hotel was generally excellent, the beach beautiful and the area had plenty to offer. We would go back. More
Just returned from an amazing holiday from this hotel with a friend of mine. We had such a lovely time. As soon as we arrived at 11.30 at night, we were greeted by the friendliest staff and a fresh glass of orange juice. Breakfast is brilliant, the best hash browns weve ever had! Stunning views, we had the sea view room and its worth the money, waking up every morning to that view is unbelievable. Sunbeds allocated is fantastic, even if you don't use them one day, no one else is in them your entire trip. We went on the Love Cyprus trip via Thomson (extra charge) , great day, and its a full day out from 8-6, but worth it to see amazing views, eating real Cypriot foods and drinking their wine! The location of the hotel is fantastic and just a 10 minute walk away is Fig Tree Bay. the location couldn't be better. The bars were quieter but that's because of the time of the year we went. Buffet dinner in the waterfall restaurant is amazing! If you can have fine dining buffet style, this is it. Very classy, and Thanos and his team are fantastic, always happy to help and always there with a smile. The dine around option is the best. I would pick this everytime over the full board, because you don't get the dine around option if you are on full board. We ate at the Greek, Italian and Pan Asian. We ate at the Pan Asain twice we liked it so much. Again great service and lovely food. Prices of drinks are really reasonable as well. Overall, the best hotel experience ive had. From the staff, food and location. The wifi is not so great in the room, but your on holiday, your not there for the internet! This place is deservedly the best hotel in Cyprus at the moment, and I hope it stays like it. Truly luxurious experience that I would happily do again in a heartbeat. Thank you to all the staff at the Sunrise Pearl!More
