The Sunrise Pearl Hotel & Spa counts a brilliant dining scene, a state-of-the-art spa and an attractive pool area among its best features.
This place has scored a plum position on one of the area’s best beaches. It means you’re only steps from the sand, and a short stroll takes you into Protaras, where you’ll find a cluster of tavernas and cafés.
The hotel is really stylish – think geometric marble pillars coupled with softly curved recesses. The pool scene’s pretty swish, too. You’ll find Balinese-style daybeds framing the water.

Family holiday to Protaras
Chose this hotel based on reviews and not disappointed. Great position on beach. Majority of staff very friendly but not overbearing (Maria and bar staff were lovely!). Went as family with Thomson. Food area could get busy and sometimes dinner options weren't replaced quickly but overall very good. Youngest son limited for choices as it was mostly a la carte style and he is fussy but could have the pasta. Saw one child get served a plate of chips so I think you can ask for alternatives. Suited us to go out to American, Asian and Italian restaurants (hotel linked). All very friendly with great food. Latter on strip but didn't like the American's position down a side street. It was a shock on first night to venture out from the relaxed atmosphere of hotel to busy strip which was heaving. Didn't get any noise from strip in hotel room though. One bedroom suite had separate walled off area for kids who were on two sofa beds. Larger balcony with good views over pools and beach/sea.This room option meant we could have the gazebo style sunbeds - lovely! Had to remove cheeky Russians who would use it and deny knowledge of there being a reserved system! Make sure you reserve your beds as soon as you can if you prefer to be by the pool. Room had hair dryer, slippers, robes, free wifi, free safe, a small water bottle per person each day. Pools and bar staff great. Could get straight into pool from the sunbed! Swim ups looked nice but overheard complaints about the pool not adjoining the main pool. Also overheard complaints about which rooms were entitled to the gazebo sunbeds so check this. Fruit comes round about 3pm but is a small slice of apple or similar - nice gesture but not quite the slice of melon I envisaged (the caribbean spoilt me!). Cold towels come round 1.30 ish. Entertainment was low key which suited us - pool aerobics, quiz, table tennis and pool contests for the kids. Beach gets crowded but nice clear water. We did some of the water sports and they were fab - friendly bunch of guys and good fun. Jack the thomson rep would probably be ok if buying from him. He wasnt very helpful about another non thomson trip idea and when I spoke to him, he couldnt give me any info despite his spiel at welcome meeting about knowing everything and being attached to an ipad! He didnt even ask how the holiday was going. I think this hotel is probably the best in the area and we had a great holiday. I would rate it a top 4 star. The main nuisance was noise from housekeeping trollies, bottle compressors etc that would start from 7am. This happened later at night too. We had noise from upstairs room too. Minor gripes- 1. Huge crack in balcony glass 2. Housekeeping a bit hit and miss 3. Jack 4. Welcome drink - propped myself on reception counter as they didnt take us to sit down. Could have done with hearing all about the hotel sitting after a long journey! Bucks fizz would suit the hotel rather than OJ. 5. Bathroom smaller than in other hotels we had been to. 6. Air con not working properly The Cyprus people are lovely and welcoming, They have a lovely sense of humour and you feel they want you there. We had a great holiday. Bear in mind it was mid 30s so you might not want to trek round too much especially with little ones!More

Excellent hotel, First Class Service.
It is difficult to know what else to say about this fantastic hotel that hasn't already been said in previous reviews, other than it as close to perfect as you can get in a 5* holiday hotel. We stayed as a family of 4 at the end of July and enjoyed a wonderful week of sunshine & relaxation. We chose the hotel, based primarily on the reviews on Tripadvisor & booked through Thomson. We were certainly not disappointed. Jack our rep, was friendly and helpful and was seen regularly throughout our stay visiting the hotel most days, but the one person who stood out for us was Thanos, the Maitre'D ! He was the face of the hotel, and ran the restaurants with ultimate professionalism, ensuring every mealtime ran like clockwork. He shook hands with almost every person who entered the restaurants, and greeted everyone with a smile and friendly manner. In fact, every single member of staff at this hotel, was highly professional, friendly and very efficient. The hotel itself is kept immaculately clean and rooms (ours were on the 4th floor/ deluxe doubles ) were of a generous size, with plenty of space and extremely comfortable beds. The designated sunbeds for the duration of your holiday, is a great idea, and I wonder how long it will be before every hotel offers this service as it eliminates tension and problems with reserving beds at the crack of dawn!! Also, the option to "dine around" is another great idea, and it was very easy to reserve a table at the various restaurants, using the computer in reception to book a time and date to suit yourself. This hotel, deserves it's Number 1 status on Tripadvisor, as we all agreed, it ticks every box and we, as family found it impossible to find anything about the hotel we would change. The hotel is first class and we have said we would definitely return to Sunrise Pearl in the future. Thank you for making our holiday so memorable and such a fantastic experience.More

We have stayed at this hotel each summer ever since it opened 3 seasons ago. The hotel is lovely and the staff fantastic and very welcoming and will get you whatever you need. The restaurant in the hotel is buffet style which was great for us as it meant that our daughter could get some food immediately without having to wait. If there was nothing that she fancied on the buffet (rare) the chefs would cook her something (fillets of salmon mainly). You also have the opportunity to dine around - Lemongrass being their latest addition to the choices you have and offers some lovely Asian cuisine. There are still some issues which I have raised in the past with the management - I find the poolside steps down to the toilet very dangerous when wet and anyone with mobility issues would struggle with them as they are steep and there are no disabled toilets at ground level. The hotel provides you with L'Occitane toiletries - soap, shampoo, shower gel and body lotion (no hair conditioner- which is another small grumble especially as it is supposed to be a Spa hotel). We enjoy our holidays here as they offer guaranteed sunshine in the summer and is very relaxing as there isn't the battle for sunbeds like other resorts. We have booked already to go back next July.More

Top for a reason
Sunrise Pearl is No.1 for a reason. The service we received during our weeks stay was second to none. We booked this hotel based on location and good reviews even though it was not the cheapest in this area. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left I could not find fault with this hotel. The staff throughout the hotel were always attentive and friendly and gave the impression nothing was too much to ask for. The hotel building and pool areas were always spotless and well maintained. Our room which was a suite with two floors and a hot tub was great for our family of four, two full bathrooms, two TVs, fridge , coffee maker, walk in wardrobe etc. The food in the main buffet restaurant was of a very high quality and lots of choice. Breakfast also very good with a huge choice of hot and cold food, cereals, pastries, fruit. Lunch was more relaxed with a menu to order from which included salads, pizzas, sandwiches, burgers and pasta dishes in the poolside restaurant and portions were huge but again very good quality. If you are half or full board there is the option to dine around at some of the local restaurants but we only did this twice at the reef ( American) and Kyklos ( Greek ) again both very nice. The idea of having your sunbed reserved for the duration of your stay is great as it saves the stupid rush at dawn to put towels out which spoils the idea of a lay in. I would certainly go back to this hotel and only wish that more hotels looked after their guests like this.More
