The Sunrise Beach Hotel’s best bits include an on-the-beach setting and a handy sunbed allocation system.
Thanks to its beachfront position, you can flip-flop between the hotel’s pool and the sea in a few steps. Protaras’ main strip isn’t much further away, where you’ll find a clutch of authentic tavernas.
One of the hotel’s big draws is its dine-around programme. It means you can have dinner in a choice of restaurants in the area, which serve the likes of American, Asian, Italian and Greek cuisine.

my wife and I went back to the sunrise beach hotel because we enjoyed our stay at the hotel last year. When we got there we was surprised that all the staff remember us they were just as friendly this time as last year. the hotel lobby has had a refit and it looks very nice, the rooms were very clean, the meals were first class. We was told that all the rooms are to be up graded for next year.More

Perfectly set hotel, on the beach and centre of resort. Food amazing, as was view from our room. Staff were wonderful, and room was clean. Will be upgrading to panoramic room next time though! Dine around restaurants were great, especially lemon grass. Love love love the sunbed allocation. No more worrying, although the short walk to Fig tree bay for a day on the beach is a must. Lovely clean beaches and water. Can't recommend this enough, and definitely book a sea view room, a little extra but worth it. Rooms being refurbished for 2017, so will only improve.More
It's all about to change!
We returned just over a week ago following a fortnight stay at this Hotel. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis so cannot make any comment on the meals provided at lunch time or dinner. The hotel is clean and tidy and the rooms offered to a good standard, although it has become somewhat, tired and dated. Most, not all, of the staff were friendly and interested. Wi-fi is provided throughout the hotel, there is a safe for no charge in the rooms and we had a good "half sea" view from our balcony. The hotel is located right on the sandy Fig Tree Bay and it is ideally placed on the strip with large numbers of restaurants, shops and supermarkets nearby. The bus stop to local and other resorts stops right outside the hotel. The breakfasts on offer accommodated all tastes from full English, fruits, cereals, local cuisine to nearly every choice to a high standard. The Hotels bedrooms are being entirely refurbished during the winter break and an additional floor added on top. The pictures we saw would suggest a quality hotel going forward. There is a fully equipped gym on site. One further comment worthy of note is timing of our stay. We would not return for the last week in October as some shops and restaurants start to close and there is a feeling of everyone wanting the season to end after a long and busy summer season.More

A very nice week
We chose an hotel which could grant closeness to the sea, wifi, decent food based on the reviews and some other extra (some also that we were not exactly looking for). Its name is Sunrise Beach Hotel and it has a bit "outdated" style for few things. A bit of 80s atmosphere is around in how the building is, as well as some part of the service (the buffet restaurant for example), but it had quite good comforts. The pools were quite nice, there were a lot of activities if one wanted to do some (from watergym, ping pong tournament, baby disco and even kids club, with a very new and fresh small cinema!) and there were a lot of restaurants one could pick up through the hotel. We went to few of them and some of them were very good (Kyklos, greek and Fishbone, with fish specialities, although a bit more expensive), others impressed us less (Marcello's, the italian one, but of course...we are Italian!). The breakfast was not exactly my cup of tea. Walking along the beach was very beautiful, also during the evening. We chose a good time to be there. The day was warm and nice, not too hot. We got few afternoons of rain, which shortened our afternoons at the seaside, but we still managed to enjoy the wonderful sea, with warm water, clean and turquoise, nice sandy beach. There was also not that many people, possibly few other retired people, being that low season and that suited us since it is nice to not have to share the beach with the whole world. The sunbeds at the beach were not owned by the hotel, but by the town, but that didn't bother us too much since we were mainly using as homebase the pool area (fairly closed to the beach anyway). We got some disturbance for the first nights, when our kids couldn't fall asleep because our neighbours, with whom we were sharing a door (which of course we didn't need to use) were playing dice the whole night. The sound was just horrible. After complaining to them, we went to the reception explaining our issue, and we got a new room where we could squeeze us. The room were ok, but a bit compact for the four of us. A double bed, with an extra bed and a coat bed. It was not the worse room of the planet, but it could have been a bit more spacious and "fresher" - it had a bit torn look. The child entertainment was a surprisingly positive note, which we didn't forecast nor thought about. Apart from the kids' club, a nice "daycare" facility where one could leave the kids there was the baby disco which was very funny and the highest peak of the day for our kids. There are two restaurants which are really part of the hotel. The one for lunch, Levanda restaurant, a bit pricy and with international food. Nice location in the hotel terrace, with a nice view over the sea and very professional (and very 80s looking) personal. The food was ok, but nothing I would have been trying to get again. The second one, the main restaurant for the evening (Panorama restaurant), was some form of buffet with theme nights. There was really a lot of food from which one could choose from, so I am sure everyone could find something that would be pretty ok to eat. From the very nice looking dessert, to the specials prepared by chefs right away, to the salads. Though, it could be quite crowded and some dishes could be very disappointing. However, in general, I can't say I was very displeased. It was just about to find the right dish to focus on. Summary: definitely a good experience that I would wish I could make again. I wish though there would be more options in low season to do some excursions that would work for families as well (without being weird).More
Sunrise great hotel but not the great experience
Firstly, this is a lovely place and a nice hotel. Friendly albeit functional staff. Crystal blue sea. Two things let me down. The team need to review their Sunbed policy. Talk to your customers guys it alienates everyone. You are allocated a sunbed for your stay. But basically half the people go on the beach and the loungers are left empty. (See image) the grumpy towel police showed one lady her sunbed. She said "its in the shade" he said "don't worry the sun comes around at 2.30. It was 11. Another couple couldn't sit with her sister. Madness! My second issue is noise. I thought this was a quiet resort but the music from a karaoke bar was horrendous until midnight every night. So either go to bed late or stay awake till then. More
