The Hotel Sunrise Beach is in the centre of Protaras, just a few minutes’ walk from the town’s shops, bars and restaurants. The property is pulled up against the beach, which means you’ve got a long ribbon of sand just footsteps away.
Life here tends to centre around the lagoon-like swimming pool, which winds its way around a sunny terrace. Added luxuries include a swim-up bar and a built-in whirlpool bath. Little ones are also well catered for, with their own splash pool. Best of all, you’re allocated a sunbed when you arrive, which is yours for the rest of your stay.
On the dining front, expect international buffets in Panorama Restaurant. If you’re on a Half Board package, you can enjoy your evening meal in the Reef American Grill, which serves up huge burgers and sizzling steaks. Plus, the Dine Around option means you can eat at the Greek and Italian restaurants down the road.
You'll find the restaurant in front of the hotel where you'll come across a large terrace that you can dine on. The kitchen is open for you to see meals being freshly made. Expect authentic recipes such as pastas, risotto, pizzas being made in the wood fire oven and a fine wine list. Reservations are required in advance and there's a limit to 2 reservations per restaurant per week. Highchairs are available.
This American style restaurant serves up some really tasteful dishes likes flame-grilled steaks, beef burgers, juicy barbecued ribs and much more. It gives off a comfortable and friendly atmosphere and if you're a sports lover you'll be please to know there are 5 large TV's that show live sporting events. Highchairs are available.
Fantastic holiday at Sunrise Beach Hotel, Protoras, Cyprus
Just got back from our fabulous holiday to Cyprus. We stayed for a week during the Easter holidays and it was one of the best family holidays we've ever had. Travelled with hubby and our 10 year old daughter and 6 year old son. The Sunrise Beach Hotel was lovely - the hotel staff were all very helpful and polite and friendly. Our room - a corner suite - room 205 was lovely too with 2 balconies, one of which overlooked the pool and the beach/sea. The hotel was spotless and modern. We had booked for B&B and the breakfast was one of the highlights of our kids' day! A chef prepared fresh pancakes or eggs - my 2 kids had on average about 8 pancakes every morning. There was plenty of cereals/bread/fruit/yoghurt plus the usual full English breakfast. The food was delicious and hot.
Everyone was given allocated sunbeds on arrival and this was a godsend - we knew exactly where we would be sitting every day and there was no usual crazy rush to reserve sunbeds. There was a large indoor pool and huge outdoor pools plus the baby pool. The outdoor pools were a tad cool initially but once in them they were fine. The pools seemed nearly deserted this early in the season but the temperature was fantastic - low to mid 20s every day and just perfect for sunbathing. Having the beach so close was the icing on the cake really - lovely soft golden sands. We all went in the sea for a swim and enjoyed collected the usual shells and stones.
Protoras itself had plenty of lovely restaurants and shops - literally a 1 minute stroll from the hotel. We ate out at a different restaurant every night - and found the traditional restaurants especially delicious. We used the bus at the top of the road to travel into Ayia Napa and to Paralimni - both are worth a visit. We also walked up the many steps to the church in Protoras - which was open at night and we could admire the lovely frescos inside. In Paralimni there were some lovely cafes, restaurants and shops - and some very nice churches to potter around. The Catholic church was wonderful and well worth a visit.
We mainly stayed around the hotel for the week we were there - the kids made friends with some other children and also used the free kids club a couple of times - face painting and a treasure hunt etc.
As our kids were a bit older and could both swim well we were able to relax and enjoy the weather and the poolside bar - we ate here most days for lunch - delicious baguettes and sandwiches.
A very relaxing holiday - even the kids disco was fun and the usual bingo or quiz nights were worth attending. The entertainment staff at the hotel were lovely but nonintrusive and not brash or overly loud. I joined in with the aqua zumba class on 3 mornings and we all stayed up late in the lounge lobby - aided by the helpful table-service and friendly bar staff (and a couple or 3 gin and tonics!).More

All hotels should be run this way.
We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Sunrise Beach. It was our first visit. What a wonderful hotel this is. It is so refreshing to stay in a hotel where 'nothing' is a problem. The staff seem to genuinely care as to whether you are enjoying your holiday. Previous reviews on this site say it all. The hotel is spotless, the food is beautiful, the staff can't do enough for you, but without being false of obtrusive. Perhaps best of all, the hotel management are visible, working, running this beautiful hotel, dining in the restaurant, meeting guests. How very refreshing.
The spa at The Pearl next door is outstanding and the therapists are professionals.
I can only repeat; all hotels should be run this way.More

Early Season visit
We arrived (4 x adults) early season (11th April), we could not fault the staff especially Mr Andrious and the bar team!. We were initially disappointed with the room we were allocated, it felt damp and was unprepared for us, the TV's didn't work, missing light bulbs etc as if we had caught the hotel on the hop.
These items were quickly put right and we had a great stay only other issue was the room we were in was next to the housekeeping room and the banging and crashing would start at 7am and go on all day.
We would go again but later in the season when the hotel had got itself up to speed.More

We stayed at the Sunrise Beach very early in the season, April 9th- 16th and once again couldn't rate it highly enough. This is our third visit ( at different times of the year) and we wouldn't hesitate to return again. The hotel is extremely well run and all staff are really friendly, attentive and make you feel so welcome. I must mention Maria, a waitress who is always really attentive and friendly.
We booked bed and breakfast and then opted for the 'dine around deal' at a cost of 15 euros per night ( May be an early season deal?)as we discovered that the hotel offered this last year( We had already booked half board with the travel agent and paid much more than this) and the restaurant choices attached to the hotel are superb. We dined at an Italian, a Greek,( These two restaurants are on a strip of bars and restaurants on the main road )an American steak bar and the hotel buffet restaurant. The choices are yours to make and you can select or choose nightly depending upon your personal tastes.
The hotel is very well situated on the beachfront and is in the heart of the resort. It is nice to stroll, walk or jog along the beach paths in either direction.Another big plus that the hotel offer, is that you are allocated your sun beds and parasols on arrival, choosing beach front, pool or gardens. The plot you choose is yours then for the duration of the holiday. Whatever time you decide to get up each morning, or relax on your sun beds they are ready and waiting with fresh towels daily.
The rooms and bathrooms at the hotel are to a good standard with comfortable beds and always clean- a credit to the cleaning staff!
We don't usually return to hotels, even if we love them, as we feel we like to experience different places and feel we have the whole world to visit and see. However, this is becoming a firm favourite and I'm sure we will return within the next year!More

Initially I was a bit disappointed with the hotel as the travel agent and brochure made it sound much better than first appearances. Our room (especially the bedding) was damp on arrival - I think it was because it was the beginning of the season here.
Once we'd met the staff and experienced the breakfast and pool area we realised that this really is a good hotel. The reception staff were great and so helpful and friendly.
Not having to rush for a sunbed every day was a real bonus. The location is great and we had a sea view which was lovely.
Shame that the resort wasn't really open - don't go before Easter! But the hotel itself was very good thanks everyone there!More
