The Sunrise Beach Hotel’s best bits include an on-the-beach setting and a handy sunbed allocation system.
Thanks to its beachfront position, you can flip-flop between the hotel’s pool and the sea in a few steps. Protaras’ main strip isn’t much further away, where you’ll find a clutch of authentic tavernas.
One of the hotel’s big draws is its dine-around programme. It means you can have dinner in a choice of restaurants in the area, which serve the likes of American, Asian, Italian and Greek cuisine.
You'll find the restaurant in front of the hotel where you'll come across a large terrace that you can dine on. The kitchen is open for you to see meals being freshly made. Expect authentic recipes such as pastas, risotto, pizzas being made in the wood fire oven and a fine wine list. You'll need to book a table in advance here, bookings are limited to one reservation per week. Highchairs are available.
These cosy family rooms come with a balcony that offers partial views of the sea. They sleep up to 4 with a twin bedroom and an additional extra bed and child bed. And you'll also find air-conditioning, bathrobes and slippers.
Just got back from a week's stay at this Hotel where we were in room 145 - perfect sea view. Room was great size - large double bed with good size balcony overlooking the pool area and out to sea. Breakfast was great - good choice and quality and the evening meal (buffet style) was good - food could have done with being slightly hotter, but good choice and again good quality. If you are half or full board you can choose to eat out at one of the four restaurants associated with the Hotel for free - you just pay for your drinks. We ate at the Lemongrass Thai Fusion Restaurant one night - superb. Starter, main and desert - great choice and beautifully cooked. We also ate at Marcello's - the Italian Restaurant at the top of the bank (again included within the half board option we had chosen) and we were not disappointed. Again, great food and again starter, main and desert all included within the "Eat Out of the Hotel Scheme". Sunbeds are chosen and reserved on your first day which is great as there is no bun fight for the beds in the morning and you had fresh beach towels each day. The rooms were cleaned every day and whilst the bedding was perhaps a bit tired (as were some of the sunbeds and beach towels), everything was immaculate and very clean. The beach is clean and the sea - crystal clear waters - perfect but the highlight of the stay? The staff - they could not do enough for you and were so friendly and welcoming and the bottle of bubbly from the Manager for hubby's birthday went down a treat!More
Great beach hotel
Staff are friendly, efficient and helpful.
Food in all restaurants and for all meals is good quality and reasonably priced.
Rooms and grounds are very clean and spacious.
Entertainment available in evenings and activities during the day.
Pools are good but aS HOTEL IS ON THE BEACH SEA BATHING IS A GOOD ALTERNATIVE.
Protarus itself has many shops and eating experiences as well as night time entertainment but is not sophisticated.
There are handy, cheap local buses for those who do not drive or wish to hire a car.More
Had a perfect weeks stay at this lovely clean hotel, yes it's got a few area in need of updating but the staff cannot do enough for you. Very polite and professional. Even had a bottle of fizz on ice left in the room for my partners birthday. Upgraded to a side sea view room and was not disappointed. Great choice at Breakfast you will not be disappointed. Allocated sun beds on arrival in the hotel grounds but we opted for the beach which is a stones throw away with crystal clear water and soft sand at your feet. Visited marcello's Italian and lemongrass Chinese/Thai at the top of the hill and reef bar and grill in the hotel and was not disappointed and very reasonable priced. Lovely beach bar for snacks during the daytime too. Everything you need is at your door stop. Great hotel and would highly recommend it. More
wow paradise in a hotel and on a plate
I went with friends to this hotel on 17.04.16. I had no pre conceptions only that I was relying on my very good friends advice and that we would have an enjoyable stay. I was not ready for the hospitality and sheer wow I received on our arrival. I generally holiday at sandals resorts and always require not only creature comforts but excellence in customer service and food. I work extremely hard all year so my holiday is my opportunity of reaping the benefits of that hard work. Needless to say sunrise beach did not disappoint me. On arrival we were greeted like returning guests and the grandeur of the reception was exciting to the eye. Our greeting at the Othello bar by George (a very good new friend) Tasos (a smile to make all smile) and the reception staff (beautiful hearts) truly excited me to think of what else was to come. I felt relaxed and special at the same time. Our rooms all b a little tired were comfortable and more to the point the entire place was spotlessly clean. The sheer beauty of the view which I might add was only a side sea view was amazing and when venturing down to breakfast the next morning I was taken back by the beauty of the terrace and the views I had to exhume. Breakfast all be it buffet style was very well cooked and there was an excellent selection. Once again I was amazed at how attentive the staff were even down to the young man who freshly prepared our eggs. Whilst on the subject of food wow wow double wow. The newly refurbished evening restaurant was completely mind blowing. Every single morsel that past my taste buds blew me away. The quality of the food and the sheer way in which it was presented was outstanding. I have eaten in many Michelin star restaurants and this was up with the best, The chef Ajif (I will never forget your vegetable soup) was outstanding and his delectable offerings are by far an additional star to what is already a high quality establishment. I also feel the need to give a special high five to the wonderful entertainments team Georgio you rocked it..........the team worked tirelessly and catered to every guest in such an attentive way. The amazing Maria on reception and well Justine....I cannot fault any one of you and wish to say a huge amazing thank you for sharing your little piece of Cyprus with us. I cannot remember all the names of the staff but would like it known that each and everyone of you has highlighted I do not need to travel to sandals resorts to have a taste of the high life. I found it right there in sunrise beach. Be warned I will return very soon and I will be excited to see each and everyone of you and experience what for me was an amazing vacation. Well done all xMore
My wife and I have just got back from a weeks R&R at the Sunrise Beach. The hotel far exceeded our expectations in almost everyway!
First I must congratulate all the staff who without exception were efficient, cheerful and polite. I have stayed at many other so called 5star hotels around the world who could learn a lot from these people.
The food represented exceptional value and never failed to delight. Buffet style there was always something to suit all tastes. In this respect it would be remiss of me not to mention the Head Chef Mr Ajith Perera. My wife suffers from a number of allergies and having pointed this out Mr Perera as busy as he was he made a point each evening of seeking us out to make sure she was suited. Even cooking on several occasions a special dish just for her! We can not thank him enough.
The hotel is perfectly positioned right on the beach and our sea view room had a wonderful view. Whilst it is true the Sunrise Beach does look a little tired in places it is spotlessly clean and has all the facilities you will need.
All in all it represents exceptional value for money and we will be returning soon.More
