Hotel Sunrise Beach

Loading

The Hotel Sunrise Beach is in the centre of Protaras, just a few minutes’ walk from the town’s shops, bars and restaurants. The property is pulled up against the beach, which means you’ve got a long ribbon of sand just footsteps away.

Life here tends to centre around the lagoon-like swimming pool, which winds its way around a sunny terrace. Added luxuries include a swim-up bar and a built-in whirlpool bath. Little ones are also well catered for, with their own splash pool. Best of all, you’re allocated a sunbed when you arrive, which is yours for the rest of your stay.

On the dining front, expect international buffets in Panorama Restaurant. If you’re on a Half Board package, you can enjoy your evening meal in the Reef American Grill, which serves up huge burgers and sizzling steaks. Plus, the Dine Around option means you can eat at the Greek and Italian restaurants down the road.

Marcello's Italian restaurant*

You'll find the restaurant in front of the hotel where you'll come across a large terrace that you can dine on. The kitchen is open for you to see meals being freshly made. Expect authentic recipes such as pastas, risotto, pizzas being made in the wood fire oven and a fine wine list. Reservations are required in advance and there's a limit to 2 reservations per restaurant per week. Highchairs are available.

Outdoor pool

The lagoon like pool shines crystal clear waters because of the cloudless blue sky. You'll get views of the beach and there are sunbeds with parasols on the terrace.

Great holiday in a fantastic hotel

We returned home from the Sunrise Beach Hotel yesterday. The hotel was lovely and very clean and the service we received was absolutely fantastic. Tassos and his bar staff couldn't do enough for us (thank you for the cocktail sticks!) Angelo and the entertainment team were great too keeping our children busy with various activities (Jenna enjoyed the bingo and Luke loved the killer pool!). The service was second to none, so good that we have just been to the travel agent this morning and booked to return in October later this year. We used the dine around option for our food on an evening, (another high point of our holiday), the quality of food and service in each restaurant was of a very high standard and even pleased our fussy eater! Can't wait to go back..........More

Protarus Gem

First time at a sunrise hotel Five star: - staff - they are so pleasant and friendly - you feel at home immediately. Pool area - this is better than many 5 star hotels we have stayed at - as with many hotels they are not heated however once you are in they are lovely ( indoor pool is heated). Pool bar is great with a really friendly bar man. Very clean - restaurant - food is exceptional - not the usual huge bland variety - in this case 'less is more' Evening meal - waiters can not do enough to help - again quality is excellent. 4 star - booked a superior family room - view is fantastic however some touch up remedial works required - bed feels slightly damp - pillow cases yellowing and holes in - a small problem which can be easily put right. No lighting to the second floor corridor which can be quite scary. Sun bed booking system is excellent - no idiots getting up at ridiculous hours to lay out there towels The hotel is situated right next to a beautiful beach with crystal clear waters. Another great point is the shop right next to the pool with plenty of English newspapers . Entertainment staff are very enthusiastic and friendly which is an asset to the hotel. More

Excellent hotel

Stayed at the Sunrise twice and going back in June. Lovely hotel and excellent staff. Food very good and the place is spotless. Would 100% recommend spending time at this beautiful hotel. Cannot understand why the last reviewer returned to the hotel if she did not like it the first time.More

What happened to my original review?

I reviewed this over-rated hotel when my husband and I returned from 2weeks Oct 2012( our 30th wedding anniversary )so where has it gone? Yes 2012 Tripadvisor hav wiped my original review so had to restate again the terrible room with mould/damp on the walls Protaras is a nice resort but would never stay at this hotel or recommend it to anyone.More

Our Wedding Venue

This review is not for a stay in the Sunrise Beach, but for their wedding facilities. We love Protaras, and when we decided to get married there, we looked for the right venue. We actually stayed next door in the sister hotel Sunrise Pearl, but they did not have a wedding facility. We visited in October 2012 and met the wedding planner (Maria), looked at where the wedding would take place and thought that it was perfect for us. We paid about €400 for the facilities and Maria's services. The decked area overlooked the grounds and the beach, seats were covered in white linen, a bar was provided and the sun shone. Maria arranged a fantastic photographer for us (Jorge), which cost us about €500, but we did opt for the top package and he was fantastic. She also arranged taxis to take my Fiancée (as she was then), grandchildren, page boy and bridesmaids from The Pearl to The Beach. The hotel couldn't have done any more to make our day special, hence this review. We did not use the tour operator wedding service as we felt it was expensive so we did it ourselves, and it wasn't that difficult and only cost half of Thomsons price!! Some of our guests stayed here and they loved it, but I cannot review it on that basis. There are quite a few venues in Protaras, but would definitely recommend the services of this hotel. We hope this review helps someone. More
