The Sunrise Beach Hotel’s best bits include an on-the-beach setting and a handy sunbed allocation system.
Thanks to its beachfront position, you can flip-flop between the hotel’s pool and the sea in a few steps. Protaras’ main strip isn’t much further away, where you’ll find a clutch of authentic tavernas.
One of the hotel’s big draws is its dine-around programme. It means you can have dinner in a choice of restaurants in the area, which serve the likes of American, Asian, Italian and Greek cuisine.
You'll find the restaurant in front of the hotel where you'll come across a large terrace that you can dine on. The kitchen is open for you to see meals being freshly made. Expect authentic recipes such as pastas, risotto, pizzas being made in the wood fire oven and a fine wine list. You'll need to book a table in advance here, bookings are limited to one reservation per week. Highchairs are available.
Having just returned from Sunrise Beach Hotel for the third time, I just can't wait to go back, all thanks to the staff. Naming just a few, Othello Bar - Bar Manager (Tasos). Also, (Justine, Sarlotta, Dimitri, and Sophia). Le Vanda Restaurant - (Neo) Manager, and all of his staff. Thanks to you all, Carole and Julie.More

Excellent holiday at this lovely hotel
Just returned from a lovely holiday at this hotel could not fault any part of the holiday, all the staff make you feel that you and your wellbeing is important to them. Many people were returning holiday makers who obviously had built up a good relationship with many of the staff over a number of years. You start the holiday as strangers but end the holiday feeling that you have made new friends with many of the staff. A special thank you goes to the entertainment team Massi, Lounija and Marrianna who made our holiday that bit more special, they obviously get on together well and it shows in their everyday running of the events, hope they stay together for another year.I would recommend this hotel for anyone from 1 to 90 for a special holiday experience.More

Turning 50 at the Sunrise Beach Hotel ð
Excellent 2 weeks at the Sunrise Beach Hotel in late September. Stayed B&B but upgraded to a Superior Sea View room which was on the 4th floor overlooking the pool & beach with no noise from the Protaras strip.
These rooms were modernised last winter & have a walk in shower, his & hers wash basins, large comfortable bed, more than enough storage space, fridge, safe & spacious balcony which caught the sun in the morning. The hotel pool & beach front is in the shade from around 15:30 onwards so choose your sun bed carefully if you like the sun.
The reserved sun bed system is simple but excellent, we chose beds on the sandy strip next to the board walk & had easy access to the beach & sea.
All the staff we met were friendly & helpful when needed. The cleaning staff work tirelessly with the room cleaned every day & clean towels provided.
We didn't eat in the hotel except for breakfast in Levanda which was very good, plenty of choice of fresh food, only thing missing was an omelette.
Honestly can't fault anything about our holiday at the Sunrise Beach Hotel, the location is ideal for both all the amenities of Protaras & the beach. We are looking to return here in 2016 which is the first time we've even considered going back to the same resort & hotel.
I was 50 just before we went on holiday which I may have mentioned in passing to reception but it got us a free bottle of bubbly. Next year I may turn 50 again ð

Some areas disappointed.
On arrival we were greeted by the charming and lovely Maria to be told that they were very sorry but they were full!! Listened to what she had to say and we were given a room at the Capo Bay resort (I've also done a review for that hotel). When we came back to the Sunrise we were given a beautiful corner suite on the 3rd floor. Without boring you too much I will continue with bullet points to a degree.
Pool, very nice one largish and one smaller.
Beach, beautiful but all beds on beach are owned by the council not the hotel and have to be paid for.
Maid service and most of the hotel staff are excellent.
For, breakfast Is more geared to the European visitor, average quality. On asking for a poached egg we were told we would have to pay. It was either fried and they were swimming in fat or very hard boiled.
Evening buffet meal, very good and lots of choices.
Gym, very good, also an indoor Poole by the gym. A bit of a wasted area really.
Sunbeds allocated on arrival for the duration of your stay and your room number is put on it. You can of course change.
The sea is to die for. I just wanted to take it with me.
Animation team are absolutely brilliant, can't praise them enough.
The hotel has other outside restaurants that you can use during your stay if half board, instead of the buffet all serving excellent food.
The smokers around the hotel spoilt it a bit for us unfortunately, they seemed to be everywhere. In the evening at the buffet we asked for a non smoking table and they put us right in the middle of the smokers!!
The Poole boys are very good but one in particular has a serious attitude problem I'm afraid and for us he spoilt things towards the end of our week.
He was having some banter with a few girls during the week. It was like I throw water at you, you throw water at me. one day he covered one of the girls with shaving foam. Also when she was sleeping he threw ice water on her, It did give her a bit of a start but she took it in good fun. She then asked my husband to give her a hand to get him in the Poole on their last day. This he did, only in the shallow end and my husband went in with him. He then turned into a very angry young man and the following day I politely asked him if he was well and I just got a barrage of comments, I told him to speak to my husband and not me. unfortunately he just continued to say, we will see, we will see, he apparently kept asking people our room number which he already knew so found that a bit odd? I basically asked him why it was ok for him to do to other people and not get anything back but he was just quite nasty and a not nice at all. There were quite a few people complaining about his attitude. A bit shame because he spoilt the hotel for us. Also we noticed that one day people we're stood waiting over half of an hour for towels and beds whilst he cleaned the Pool. There isn't any notice saying what time the Poole desk opens and when towels are supposed to arrived. Someone could have told people to maybe come back or explain why they had to wait but nothing was said, very bed I feel. Taking into consideration that most of the animation team ended up in the water most days and they never ever complained. The animation team make you feel so very welcome, they are a huge asset to the hotel. Daytime activities , just enough.
Toiletries in the room. There is a large pump on the bathroom shower wall filled with hair and body wash but then on the sinks there was a small pot of shampoo/conditioner and a body lotion. One of each and that's all we got for the week.
Some parts of the hotel and a little dated.
Towels in the rooms are very old.
Pillows we're absolutely horrendous for me and we also got them changed but they were still really awful.
Internet very hit and miss.
We asked for ice and skimmed milk from the bar every day and they were absolutely fine about it.
The hotel sandy area by the beach approach could look a lot better but just being racked and the walls brushed off now and again.
The exit gate to the beach is falling off.
We were also woken up by what I thought was a helicopter when in fact it was the gardener cutting the lawn at 05.50 and it didn't stop until after 7. We were on a high floor as well.
Excellent underground car park for hire cars.
Very good location for getting around.
We went half board but lots go bed and breakfast because it's quite cheap to eat out. Hotel charges â¬22 for an evening meal.
All water and drinks have to be paid for other eye than water etc at breakfast.
No water in the gym. Something I've never heard of in a hotel gym in a hour country.More

Another excellent holiday
This was our 2nd trip to the Sunrise beach. The hotel gave us a complimentary bottle of red wine to welcome us back. Nice touch.
The staff at the Sunrise Beach are really nice. Really helpful and professional. Even the hotel manager, Kyriacos, took the time to ask about our visit and make sure we were having a good stay.
My wife has dietary requirements. The head chef Ajith Perera was really passionate about making sure her dietary needs were met, he went out if his way to make sure that Gluten free and Lactose free products were used and available for her. Mario(?) even made her special pancakes every morning. I've never seen my wife so happy as she could eat without any pain or concern. We upgraded to half board because of the great service.
The hotel itself as superb as usual. The bedrooms are clean, well appointed, and spacious. Of course the location of this hotel can't be beaten; the views over the beach and sea are excellent.
The pool is good and the sun lounger system works well.
The on site entertainers Marianna, Lonija, Massi, and Camila were great fun and really make the holiday more interesting, plus they add a real personal touch being friendly and chatty. The water volleyball each afternoon was a real laugh, as was the morning aqua aerobics.
The nightlife in Protaras is good with a mix for everyone. We liked Verona, the DJ was so cool.
It was my birthday during the trip, the Entertainers organised ballons for the parasol. Made my day special.
Wish I was there now! Can't wait to go back.
The only downside to our trip was our Thomson rep Charlotte(?) never even spoke to us once. Even when we were waiting for the bus to the airport at the end of the holiday she was having lunch with another rep and a friend, while the entertainers Marianna, Lonija, and Massi were running around making sure people knew when their buses had arrived. This shouldn't reflect on the hotel though, as their staff couldn't do enough! Thomson have a word!More
