The Sunrise Beach Hotel’s best bits include an on-the-beach setting and a handy sunbed allocation system.
Thanks to its beachfront position, you can flip-flop between the hotel’s pool and the sea in a few steps. Protaras’ main strip isn’t much further away, where you’ll find a clutch of authentic tavernas.
One of the hotel’s big draws is its dine-around programme. It means you can have dinner in a choice of restaurants in the area, which serve the likes of American, Asian, Italian and Greek cuisine.

Marcello's Italian restaurant*
You'll find the restaurant in front of the hotel where you'll come across a large terrace that you can dine on. The kitchen is open for you to see meals being freshly made. Expect authentic recipes such as pastas, risotto, pizzas being made in the wood fire oven and a fine wine list. You'll need to book a table in advance here, bookings are limited to one reservation per week. Highchairs are available.
The lagoon like pool shines crystal clear waters because of the cloudless blue sky. You'll get views of the beach and there are sunbeds with parasols on the terrace.
Othello lounge bar*
A big must while staying in the hotel is to visit this bar. It's where the night comes alive. The entertainment in the evening is live singing acts, live instrument acts, dance shows and magic.

Appalling start to a holiday.....not even three star standars
Arrived to what I can only describe as the most appalling start to a holiday in over 40 years of overseas travelling. On arrival at 10:30 pm after a full days travelling there was no food available. We were told to wait until breakfast. As a traveling diabetic it is essential that I maintain a level of good intake or risk a hypo. Nothing offered. First night spent surviving coke..... The room allocated is interconnecting with noises from children next door and we can hear every word etc, not acceptable. Children should be able to enjoy themselves, but we don't want an interconnecting room, The room is very very basic. Nothing special at all. The TV does not work and there is no remote control. The information book is for the wrong room and quotes an incorrect room number. The air condition is not working, the entire floor smells like an old ashtray. We don t want to unpack our clothes because of the smell of smoke. There is no price list anywhere for the mini bar and scant information in the directory, Dangerous to assume it is free..... When we complained to reception , we were told the hotel is full. Yet there are three people in the bar. We also treated with disdain and laughed at by the receptionist who seemed to think this is funny. Thompson help line tried to assist but got the same response. This hotel does not care a damn about its clients. Surprise surprise we have now been told that the tv and air condition will work tomorrow. There are clear cost savings going on here, a lack of staff and no one with any authority to make a decision. This is the worst hotel I have stopped in , Ioved 40 years.... .More
Thoroughly enjoyed this hotel
Stayed at this hotel 12th to 19th April. My (only) mistake with this holiday was the timing of it. Firstly I didn't realise this particular week was Easter and the second was the resort was barely awake for the season. That said the rest of our holiday was brilliant!! The hotel is wonderful, right on the beach. The facilities are all to a very high standard. We stayed half board but did not use the dine-around option as the food in the Panorama restaurant was too good to leave!! Every member of staff we met on a daily basis from porters to reception staff, housekeeping, maintenance to waiting-on staff all had a big smile and a cheerful greeting for all the guests. (Talking about staff, a special mention goes to the young lady Thomsons/Tui rep by the name of Kara. Knowledgeable about trips, helpful and always smiling. Thanks for everything, Kara!) Opinion seems divided on this hotels sunbed policy. It didn't really apply to us as we are not sun-worshippers but there are loads of sunbeds to choose from in every area of the hotel.More
Our favourite place in the world!
This is the 12th time we have returned to the Sunrise Beach! It is our favourite holiday! The location is beautiful, it couldn't be better!! The hotel is lovely after great refurbishments! Food amazing, not only in the hotel but in their other restaurants outside of the hotel. The staff are some of the friendliest people we know, so accommodating, excellent at their jobs and always so friendly towards everyone. Especially Tassos the head barman, he has always been so lovely to our family :) we call the sunrise beach, paradise! It's the best holiday we have ever had, hence why we have returned so many times. We will definitely be returning again after just having another fabulous holiday :) More
We stayed at this hotel In 2013 and the staff, hotel and location are all perfect. The hotel has been improved since we were here last and its lovely and the staff are so very attentive nothing is too much trouble and it was lovely to see thassos, Justine and yannis again all fabulous staff and made our parents visit as good as we had our first time here. Breakfasts are amazing and love how you get your own flask of coffee at your table so no queuing at a machine like some hotels. The sun beds being allocated is also a fab feature of this hotel too. The entertainment team work hard as do the staff and it reflects in the quality of the hotel. We will definitely be back hopefully in October. The reception staff and even the consierge are all very attentive and friendly nothing is too much trouble.More
A poor start to holiday, no hot water for three days, lifts not working, woke up at 6am by Grundons outside window, continual work being carried out during the day sometimes as late as 6pm as two floors were not prepared for guests, rooms still being cleaned as late as 6pm. All in all a poor expirenceMore
