'If sun, sea and sand are the order of the day, Nissi Beach is where it's at.'
Travel around and through the various regions of the island of Cyprus and you'll understand why ancient Greek legend says that it is the birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite. But it's not until you reach the coast that you really fall for Cyprus. Nissi Beach in particular has something for everyone. It's even got a small desert island within swimming distance of the silvery white sands. At one end is Protaras – laid-back and lovely. And at the other is Ayia Napa, which can rightfully claim its place amongst the finest beach-and-party resorts in the world. Offering you the best of both worlds by being midway between two, Nissi is the stuff holiday dreams are made of. Cue a splash-tastic waterpark, deliciously traditional tavernas and bars by the bucket-load. But it's more easy going than neighbouring Napa. The sea is as still as a mill pond, the water sports less intrusive, the silvery beach simply unbeatable - giving you the chance to relax away from the hurly burly. With sun-silvered sands, sparkling seas and neon-spangled nights to its name, Nissi Beach gives you something to smile about.

One of the main attractions of Nissi Beach is, unsurprisingly, its flawless sweep of white sands. The beach stretches for 500 metres and is lapped by the gentle waves of the turquoise sea, which offer safe, relaxing bathing for those in search of a gentle dip.
If you want to eat out while on holiday, there are plenty of restaurants in Nissi Beach and nearby Ayia Napa to chose from. During your stay in Cyprus, be sure to try 'Souzoukko' - a sweet dish made from dipping strings of nuts into hot grape juice - delicious!
Nissi Beach has a number of bars but if you really fancy a night on the town, take a short taxi ride to nearby Ayia Napa. The neighbouring resort comes to life once the sun has gone down and boasts a wealth of sophisticated nightclubs and fun karaoke bars.
Nissi Beach has a limited number of shops where you can purchase those all important holiday essentials and souvenirs. However, for a more comprehensive shopping experience, head to nearby Ayia Napa.
Standing at the very heart of Cyprus, why not visit the beautiful Troodos Mountains, one of the island's hidden treasures? Snow capped in winter and cool and refreshing in summer, the beautiful pine swathed mountain range offers a real alternative to the heady mix of beaches and bars down on the coast. It's a great place to unwind and relax and really lets you get back to nature.
