Hotel Nestor

The Nestor Hotel is really modern, and comes with a smart pool area. Plus, it puts you within 5 minutes of Ayia Napa’s beach and nightlife.

This hotel goes heavy on the style front. It’s all clean lines and contemporary furnishings, with futuristic LED lights wedged into roof recesses and underneath bars. The smart, unfussy motif carries on into the rooms.

Location is king for this place. A five-minute walk from the front door gets you to Ayia Napa’s famous nightlife, and the town’s white-sand beach is just as close.

Visited the hotel for a week with my family (2 adults and 2 kids). This was my third year in a row. The main reason is because it's maybe the cleanest hotel I've ever been to. The room and generally all the facilities of the hotel are kept very clean and tidy. Also the staff is fantastic. The restaurant and pool bar staff it's exactly what you expect to find in a hotel to feel like home. Always with a smile and ready to help you with whatever you need. The food was perfect and because I could compare it with the previous years I can say it's getting better and better every year. Now why very good and not excellent...first impression I can say was disappointing. The girls at the reception had an argument whilst we were waiting to check in and generally you could tell that they were not cooperating with each other during our whole stay there. They also offered free wifi connection...there was no connection anywhere in the hotel except from the lobby. The manager of the hotel was walking around the hotel all day and night, you could see him in the restaurant having lunch or dinner or at the bar having his drink...he never spoke to me or to my family, not even a good morning or just a single "hi", never saw him smile and don't expect him to ask you how your holidays are or if you have any problems or need anything ( I was the only Cypriot staying at the hotel at the time). Due to the reason that its very clean and the attitude of the staff at the restaurant and at the bar, I will visit the hotel in the future...More

Savvas C,

Really bad food

I went to this hotel in June, honestly the best thing about it was that it was very clean which makes for a comfortable stay. However the food was awful and ALWAYS cold. I'm not sure how they can serve such poor quality food day in and day out. I was very disappointed as I paid all inclusive and ended up having to eat out every day. It really can ruin your holiday when you pay so much for food for it to be inedible. The entertainment was terrible, there was no daytime entertainment. This hotel is 40+ so young adults 25+ like myself this isn't the best place to stay unless you pass for room only. On the plus side the staff were very friendly. So because of that and the cleanliness I will score this hotel 3More

Two week holiday at the Nestor

Me and my partner have just returned from a two week stay at the Nestor Hotel (29/7-13/7). We stayed here last year for two weeks for the first time and the customer service (everywhere apart from the restaurant) wasn't great so didn't know if we would go back, but we liked the location of the hotel so returned this year. Upon check in we where told we had been upgraded from a superior room to a deluxe room which we where very happily surprised at. The room was still a sea view room (which we had paid extra for), but now a side sea view room which didn't bother us as we still had a view. We where in room 439, which overlooked the pool and had the side road to the left of us. It was quite noisy at night from the roads and the first few nights we noticed the cars but it wasn't a massive issue. The room was nice and spacious but the only difference with the room's where we each had a pair of slippers and a bath robe. The bath robes where seriously uncomfortable to wear as they where really rough on the skin so we didn't actually use them anyway. The bath towels where unfortunately the same, really uncomfortable to use as they where so harsh on the skin, which was pretty unfortunate when we had slight sunburn. The cleaners did a good job of cleaning the rooms and the hotel grounds. On our first day we went to reserve and pay for the nicer sun loungers by the pool. When walking to breakfast after doing so, Pedros (who was one of the guys who i mentioned in my review last year for poor customer service) greeted us because he recognised my partner and did mention my trip adviser comments about him last year which annoyed me, but i guess at least they look at our reviews! The only problems we had with our stay was other guests. This year we found a lot of young groups in the hotel (who liked to talk about their adventurous night before quite loudly). The other problem was our neighbours on our floor, who decided to bring what sounded like a big music system and play music very loud late at night, so we did have to call reception to have a chat with them after we had tried to talk to them ourselves and got no where. I'm only in my twenties myself but I still didn't appreciate it. I know wherever you go you get noise and you cannot choose who stays at the hotel but it was a bit of a shame it happened. The morning after we (and others) had complained about the noise, we had a complaint slip put under our door. We where very shocked we had received this as we where the ones who made the complaint, not making the noise. My partner did go down to reception to talk to the ladies on the desk about it, who apologised for the mistake and said the manager would come and find us to apologise too but we never had any kind of conversation from him, which was also disappointing. The english where very rude and protective about the nicer sun loungers by the pool, and you could tell when they had left the first week we where there. I read some reviews before I flew out about the pool sun loungers and everyone saying the beds where taken early, yet when the English had flown home, every morning there were 10/14 beds available out of 18 up until 10am. So we had no problems after our first few days. I do agree the hotel should have a system in place to reserve the beds, maybe a reserve sign on them once paying for them after 9am and not just putting your towels down. Breakfast is fantastic, there is so much to choose from and everything is replenished fast. Evening meals in the hotel are good, I did find that one or two nights a week I didn't like anything on offer and I'm not a fussy eater. My partner really enjoyed the Mexican themed meals and i enjoyed the Greek style nights the most. The best thing about the restaurant is the staff, everyone is fantastic! They are so helpful and friendly and always saying good morning or hello, making conversation and smiling. Also the security guys on reception at night where really nice and friendly. During the day, there aren't any things going on round by the pool, no games or kids activities. So if you are travelling with a family, make sure you have a few things to keep them occupied. The WIFI was free this year so the connection wasn't great as it had everybody using it all the time but again it wasn't a big problem for us. All in all our stay was good but I doubt we will be returning to the Nestor Hotel, which is a shame as we are looking to return to Cyprus with friends in September.More

Sophie K,

pleasant hotel

Was put here as our hotel was overbooked. Although annoyed by the mix up I enjoyed my stay here. My room was spacious and clean, and hotel was close to harbour and nightlife although not affected by the noise of the main road. The reception staff were fantastic and did all they could to liaise with us and other hotel we were meant to be staying at. Unfortunately we had to move hotel again on last night as nestor was also fully booked and we had a wedding to get ready for prior to checking in to new one. Although we couldn't stay in the room staff made arrangements for me to use spa facilities which was helpful. Would definitely stay here again. If you want a lovely hotel with good staff book here and skip so white suites!! More

Lovely hotel, great location, excellent staff.

Modern hotel in a great location , quiet but near the beach, harbour, shops and restaurants. Spacious pool area , well worth paying 4.50 euros for the luxury sun beds on the pool side. All the staff were excellent , the pool bar staff deserve a special mention they really look after you. We had a standard room which was big enough although the bathroom was a little compact. All the hotel is very clean and looks brand new. Food was very good with a varied selection, restaurant has a lovely outside seating area. Would definitely recommend and will planning on returning next year.More
