This hotel gets rave reviews on TripAdvisor for 3 things – its location, its pool scene and its food.
The Napa Plaza gets loads of repeat visitors. It’s partly setting-related. Nightlife hub, Napa Square, is 2 minutes’ walk away. But, as reviewers point out, you’d never know it – the hotel’s got a really quiet vibe.
The pool is a real centrepiece, and there are 5 restaurants including a meze venue and a funky sushi bar. Add a couple of great bars to the mix and you’ll see why people come back for seconds.
We were in Napa Plaza for 4 nights during September 2014!
Great location!!!! Friendly and helpful staff!!!! Very nice breakfast!!!! Good rates!!!! To make it perfect, they should have free wi Fi in the rooms! But I would definitely go back to Napa Plaza!!!
Our 5th visit to this wonderful Hotel. From the moment you step through the door into reception your perfect holiday experience begins. All the staff across the board are so very friendly & welcoming you can't fail but to have a fantastic time here. The Hotel itself is clean, well kept & a home from home but what sets it head & shoulders above all the rest is the staff. The rooms are comfy & clean,( not all have balconies so check when booking). There are so many people who return year after year(so lovely to spend time with you again guys) so it speaks for itself really. The location is ideal, central with lots of bars, restaurants & shops. The breakfast is buffet style with food & drink to suit all pallets. Free pool towels are available daily, plenty of sun loungers & brollies around the lovely pool area & a pool bar where head barman Xenis & his team will attend to your every need with a very friendly efficiency & a warm welcome. There is a spa where all manner of beauty treatments are available(very relaxing) & a fully air conditioned gym(unable to give feedback on this!!) There are several different restaurants within the hotel & Pepper bar out front is a very lively & popular place with it's own DJ. The harbour area & beach is a short walk away & well worth a look. All in all this Hotel, staff & the experience is a little slice of paradise on earth...thank you Napa Plaza team for another amazing holiday...roll on next year!More

Room for Improvement
After nine years of holidaying in Protaras, we decided we would have a change and try another part of the island of Cyprus.
After reading many reviews, we opted to stay at the Napa Plaza in Ayia Napa.
When we arrived, at around midnight, we were warmly welcomed by the night porter and following registration were given directions to our room.
Our standard room was situated at the back of the hotel overlooking the rather 'run down' tennis courts.
First impressions were not great. Whilst clean, and with some apparent improvements having been made, in the form of new flooring in the bedroom and a new bathroom sink, the room was dark, and rather 'worn out' looking.
Furniture was dated and scratched, mattress was old, stained in places and uncomfortable, pillows were as flat as a pancake and 'fit for the bin'.
However, the worst aspect of this room was the heat! Despite being 'air-conditioned' it was warmer in the room than it was in the balcony and in the corridor! No amount of turning the dials made any difference and that could have been because the air con was centrally controlled. There was only what could be described as a 'very gentle breeze' coming from the vents and this had little effect on the overall temperature of the room. It was unbearable!
Being unable to sleep in these conditions, my husband went to reception and returned with what appeared to be the night porter's personal fan.
When we got up in the morning, after not much sleep due to the heat, we reported the poor air conditioning to the reception staff who indicated that they would have it looked into by their maintenance staff.
We then went for breakfast which was very nice and could not be faulted.
After spending the morning by the pool, which was very cold, we checked the room again but it was still unbearably hot with no sign of anyone having been up to check out the air conditioning, so we reported it to reception again.
It was on our third visit to reception when we were told that the engineer had been to our room on two occasions, however the temperature was consistently measured at 70 degrees.
Since this was unacceptable we were offered a replacement room.
(We later found out that there had been another woman, who had to be moved on the same night as we arrived, because of the same problem of an overheated room)
The room that we were moved to was lovely. It was one of the rooms that had been recently renovated, situated at the front of the hotel.
It was modern, bright and airy, the bed was really comfortable and the pillows new and bouncy!
There was no balcony, however this made the room more spacious, and it was something that we did not miss.
The room did have some problems but these were minor and would have been easily rectified.
The walk-in shower flooded when we used it, perhaps because of inadequate drainage or an insufficient slope. A tightly rolled up wet towel forming a dam at the entrance to the shower solved this problem. There was also no mirror at the table where you dried your hair. (These were reported)
I don't think that these rooms were being allocated to customers of Thomas Cook, as the hotel guide was not printed in English, as had been in our old room, and instead was only in Russian.
We had a really comfortable stay in this room, and whilst overlooking a busy main road, was also relatively quiet. We could hear the noise of the clubs, at the week-ends until the small hours, but guests staying in other parts of the hotel were also disturbed by this.
Not sure what it would have been like at peak holiday time however, as this was October.
Whilst we had a perfectly pleasant stay at the Napa Plaza hotel, what we did miss, compared to Protaras, was a beach front location. We could not find a beach to compare to Fig Tree Bay. Nissi Beach did not come close, it was a bit dirty in places, and we did not rate the beach in Ayia Napa.
Restaurants in the area were really good, including the Greek restaurant, attached to the hotel.
So, would be go back to Ayia Napa? Yes we would.
Would we stay at the Napa Plaza again? Yes we would but we would choose our room very carefully. It would need to be one of the upgraded rooms. We also could not fault the staff, they were all very pleasant, especially Karina who worked in the pool side restaurant.
Cyprus, however, has changed over the past few years, and this year, we have decided not to holiday there and instead going to Fuerteventura.
It was a difficult decision as we have always loved our holidays in Cyprus, however there has been influx of tourists from an Eastern European country that has completely changed 'the feel' of the resorts, so it was time for a change. We will be back though.More
