Fully rebuilt in 2007, the Napa Mermaid Hotel & Suites is the epitome of modern, fresh, understated design. Factor in a sandy beach, unrivalled sea views and a laid-back atmosphere and it’s clear to see why it’s so popular with guests.
Set in a quiet spot, it’s just a ten minute stroll from the centre of Ayia Napa, so it brings you the best of both worlds.
As for the hotel itself, it combines neutral, style-led spaces with a pool scene straight from a design magazine. Think sun terraces dotted with funky sunloungers, cream parasols and pergolas. Then there are the big, cubist sofas on the sundeck bringing more in the way of 21st-century style.
The bedrooms are just as chic. Elegantly styled using natural materials and earthy colours, attention to detail has been lavished on each room. But it’s the views across Grecian Bay that are the real talking point. Factor in extras like individually controlled air-conditioning and flatscreen TVs and you’ve got one modern escape.
In terms of the hotel’s dining scene, there is one restaurant, which operates on a buffet and a la carte basis. For cocktail-quaffing meanwhile, there are two chic bars to choose from.
As for facilities, there’s plenty on offer. You’ve got a health club with a sauna, whirlpool bath and a gym.Plus there’s a floodlit tennis court where you can practise your serve.

Stayed here in the summer and have finally got round to putting on a review. 70s hotel which has been refurbished and modernised. Reception, bar, pool, restaurants etc are now comtemporary and well finished off but sadly that's where it ends. We walked through our bedroom door (or should I say squeezed) to be seriously disappointed. The professional photos do their job and trick you into expecting far more. Its still stuck in the 70s with the odd modern touch - flat screen tv, contemporary furniture and dont get me started on the bathroom - 70s tiles and suite with the wall replaced by glass. And as for the gym - disgraceful! We did look to upgrade to a junior suite which was a lot lot better but at 100 euros a night. We really didnt think paying an extra 700 euros was worth paying to still have 4* facilities. I know I'm fussy but previous reviewers must be easily pleased. If you're willing to add 700 euros onto your bill to have a decent room go for it, otherwise steer clear.More
short but pleasant stay
Just a one night taster. Good quality rooms, up to date but a separate shower would have been preferred. Very nice setting with reasonable views from the side, yes we could see the sea. The ambiance around the lobby was excellent and pool area great. Just a short walk over the road and you are on the beach and walking distance to the harbour(about 15 mins) The evening meal was buffet style, but top quality and plenty of it. The service was very quick to clear up used plates. Again breakfast was buffet style but good but bacon not up to much. Price overall was very good value, this of course depends on what rate you pay.More

Cannot fault this lovely hotel. Staff very friendly. Location is very good. Just across the road from beach. About a ten minute walk, into main centre so nice and quiet . We stayed in an executive bungalow. Very spacious. Lovely large patio, area overlooking pool. We stayed in November and many restaurants and hotels are now shut down for the winter. We went to sage every night for our evening meal and the food really is superb. Look forward to returning to,this lovely hotel.More
We spent at this hotel our honeymoon. It was superb! The location is perfect.Less than 5 minutes to the beach and far from the noisy bars and night clubs. The room was spotlessly clean. Upon arrival we got a compliment from the hotel( a bottle of wine and apples). On the second day I celebrated my birthday and the hotel staff presented me a birthday cake and a bottle of wine. And finally, on the day of our symbolic wedding ceremony we got fruits and champagne as a compliment. We were so pleased. The food is excellent. We were at HB basis.Breakfast is the same very day and the dinner is devoted to diffferent kinds of cuisine every day. It`s impossible even to taste everything. The only remark, it would be nice to cook more fish. It`s only one fish dish in the evening. And the second remark: rooms are cleaned every day, but sometimes when we returned from the beach at 13.00 pm, our room was not yet cleaned, so it was in the process of cleaning. It`s inconvenient to wait for the room to be cleaned. A small enlargement of roommaids staff would resolve this problem:) We definetely recommend this hotel for a calm holiday. We`re looking forward to come back to this hotel next year.More
