This sanctuary-like hotel has plenty of designer style – and its location is second to none.
Completely rebuilt in 2007, the Napa Mermaid is the epitome of fresh, modern design. Its pool area is ultra-stylish, with cream loungers and sofas on the sundeck. And there’s a chic cocktail bar for the evenings.
It’s in a quiet part of town, just a 10-minute walk from the centre of Ayia Napa. Across the road is Grecian Beach, so sea views are par for the course.
Offering themed buffet dinners and fine dining in the trendy, modern set restaurant. Snacks and à la carte meal options are also available here. Smart casual dress code is required at dinner, gentleman are asked to wear long trousers. Children's early meals and highchairs are available.
Just home from a fabulous stay at the "Napa Mermaid". Hotel was perfect in every way...from the wonderful staff on reception (who addressed us by name every time we walked by reception) to the first class pool facilities and attendants. Breakfast was superb as was the menu and food at lunchtime. A few restaurants within easy walking distance and only a few minutes cab ride into centre of Ayia Napa (8euros) where you will find something for everyone (all ages catered for ) No problem getting beds round by the pool (really comfy by the way) and the evening entertainment in the bar was first class as were the cocktails !! We stayed in the Grand Suite which way exceeded our expectations ....only slight complaint air con in bedrooms wasn't very cold but with a cold lounge and large balcony complete with hot tub this really wasn't a problem . Would definitely return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.More

Rather forgettable experience...
I had high hopes for this hotel but i have rarely come across a group of staff who were just so miserable in general. It started at breakfast , the staff did not want to be there , they seem to forget people are on holiday and they have to mirror the customers they have but by gosh, never saw a smile, hello and any pleasure in providing a service. I never wanted to spend my nights having dinner there because i had no intention going anywhere this sour group of people!
My rooms were ok but for the amount of money we paid , it felt like a glorified apartment more than a suite of any sort , the bathrooms were cramped and just unsafe for my liking. Never understood why modern hotels dont have showerheads or even shower curtains if you dont want pools of water to step down to after you're done..only way to avoid it is to have a 1 minute shower and keep the water pressure on low so you dont make a mess. so uncomfortable!
don't understand the positive reviews, it might have to do with the 20yr old demographic. Go elsewhere..More
The hotel I doesn't have a private beach like some of other 4 stars hotel, but the beach is really not far. And that part of beach is really beautiful and clean, and very safe for kid to play. Center is also very near, you can either go by bus or on foot. Food in hotel was super. The only inconvenient for us is there is no kids play room or play corner. They cannot alway stay in the pool.More

Napa Mermaid- an Oasis of calm
We stayed at the Napa Mermaid for 4 days whilst staying in Ayia Napa for a friends wedding.
We didn't really think Ayia Napa would be our thing and so planned to stay only 4 days and then move on to a more rural part of Cyprus....but I have to say I would have been happy to stay longer at the Napa Mermaid.
Whilst being really well located for the centre of town if you did want to venture in to the bars, resturants and clubs (15 minute walk or 5 minute taxi at 8 euros) this hotel is perfect for couples or adults looking for something a bit more slow-paced.
We booked the Grand Suite as it was a special occasion (1st wedding anniversary) and it exceeded expectations. The suite is even bigger than it looks in the photos and was really fantastic.
The balcony is huge!! At the time of year we were there (August) the sun didn't reach the balcony until late afternoon, but as it is a sea view balcony you can't really complain...the hotel can't choose where the sun is.
I would also say that the balcony is a bit overlooked by others but there is a privacy curtain for the table area and hot tub if this bothers you. We found that it wasn't generally a problem.
The pool area is fantastic- nothing over the top, just a really nice pool for swimming or lounging (staggered steps at one end mean you can lie in the water and sunbathe).
The temperature of the pool was ideal.
The sunloungers are more like beds here and are really comfy, with adjustable headrests and on wheels so easy to move around.
I'd read other review saying people had issues getting a lounger, but this was not a problem at all while we were there so maybe the management has responded to this.
The bar area is lovely and the bar staff were helpful and friendly.
unfortunately we didn't get to use the spa but it looked nice.
fresh pool towels were supplied everyday and they are really great large soft towels in a funky bright pink. The hotel didn't have an issue with us taking them out for the day which was a bonus.
2 bottles free mineral water everyday too- fantastic! The mini bar is slightly on the pricey side, as was the room but I think it's just in line with what they charge everywhere else in Ayia Napa and upon seeing our friends hotel (Olympic Lagoon) I have to say Napa Mermaid was far superior.
We only paid for B&B as we knew we wouldn't be around much but the breakfast was everything you would expect- no complaints. I actually only made it one day as we were so busy and realised at the end of our stay that for a small charge you can have breakfast to your room- which I definitely would have done.
The room service menu for lunch and dinner looked great, although I can't comment as we didn't get round to using it.
I'd seen other people had complained about the noise but we didn't hear a peep from our suite.
There is no need to open windows and balconies as the air con is great (and not too cold).
Overall- No complaints at all about Napa Mermaid.
A really lovely classy hotel, great for adults looking to get away from noisy kids (not adult only but not a hotel that would appeal to many families I think).
I would definitely stay there again!
Oh- one thing to add. It looked from the pool as is the junior suites had hot tubs on the balconies too, not just the grand suite- something worth checking out as this wasn't obvious from the website.More

Second time even better!!
This was our second time at this fantastic hotel. We had a taxi transfer from the airport which was great. Last time we stayed here we were upgraded to a bungalow room. We loved it so much we booked the same room for this stay. Upon arrival they informed us that they had upgraded us to suite!! Could not believe our luck!! The room was beautiful.. so spacious and tastefully decorated. The staff once again were very friendly and efficient. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean. We booked bed & breakfast only as we know of lots of great restaurants in the area. The breakfast was great, so much choice and all very freshly cooked. I would definately recommend this hotel and look forward to returning!!More
