in Ayia Napa , Larnaca Region T rating: 3

  • Central location
  • Large swimming pool
  • Low-rise buildings
In a tucked-away spot on the edge of Ayia Napa, this place lets you combine lazy days with lively nights.
The Loutsiana Apartments score major points for their location. The complex is only around a five-minute walk from Makronissos Beach, and the shops, restaurants and bars of Ayia Napa's centre are less than a five-minute taxi ride away.

As for the hotel itself, it’s a low-rise, whitewashed number surrounded by lawns and palms. There’s a big swimming pool in the middle of the grounds. Flanked at one end by manmade rocks and mini waterfalls, it’s got a lagoon-like feel. There’s a smaller pool for children, too, and a poolside bar serving drinks and snacks throughout the day.

Step inside and you’ll find a smart set-up. In the lobby, terracotta walls have been teamed with chocolate-brown sofas and sleek glass tables. Move into the apartments – which have either one or two bedrooms – and white walls and wooden floors create a neutral canvas for patterned soft-furnishings. Each one has a kitchenette, too, so it’s easy to put together simple meals.

If you’d rather someone else did the cooking, head to the restaurant. A cosy space kitted out with traditional furniture and elegant white tablecloths, it’s got a real home-from-home atmosphere. In terms of food, expect international dishes alongside Greek favourites like meze.

Your guide to Ayia Napa, Larnaca Region

"Beaches, bars and big beats – in Ayia Napa, there’s always room for a party.”

Think of the Mediterranean’s most famous beach-and-party resorts. Chances are Ibiza and Majorca are on the list…and Ayia Napa almost certainly makes the top three. This is one high-energy, high-heat, high-level entertainment town. And hedonism in the sun tops the holiday priority charts. You come here to have fun and Ayia Napa offers endless ways to achieve your goal. The silvery white sand, twinkling blue sea and the day-long sunshine are a good place to start. Immerse yourself in watersports. Get stuck into some beach games. Or sip ice-cold cocktails at the beach bar. And when the sun starts to dip, Ayia Napa comes to life. For a traditional take, away from the bright lights, it’s all about the meze dinner in the old town. Then it’s time to hit the tiles. The nightlife in Ayia Napa is the stuff of Clubbers' Guide legend. Happy Hour seems to run round the clock. Bars belt out banging tunes. And club DJs keep the sounds spinning ‘til sun-up. One not to be missed is the famous foam party – but don’t wear your best togs, those soapy suds sure are messy! But if you’re thinking that’s all there is to Ayia Napa, guess again. Behind the party scene lies a captivating town with a quaintly cobbled old quarter. There’s a shaded main square lined with dignified buildings and quiet places to stop and rest in the heat of the day. There’s even a medieval monastery, built by the Venetians, which dates back to the 16th century. So it’s safe to say that this baby’s got it all.

Stayed here for 1 week with my husband. Great location, lovely and quiet. Resort really nice, but rooms very dated and not cleaned very well. We had ants crawling all over our kitchen, so although we were self catering we chose to eat out. Also thought... more on this review
