If the thought of a secluded holiday hideaway appeals to you, Ariana's Apartment will charm and delight you. Sitting serenely by a tranquil bay and sheltered by sloping green hills, you really are at one with nature here. In fact, the only noise likely to disturb you will be the singing birds or a friendly local stopping for a chat. Rustic stone steps lead up from the milk-pond waters to a very spacious terrace - wonderful for al fresco dining and soaking up the sun. Decorated with a collection of colourful potted plants, the friendly owners, Marco and Dada, kindly ask guests to water them now and again and in return may sometimes be on hand with fresh fish or some rakija, an aniseed-flavoured drink. Step inside and you're transported to a cool white-washed living room with tiled floors, comfy red sofas and chairs and a dining area. And you'll be sharing your holiday with a few historical treasures here too, such as the 16th-century carved stone niche which was once used as a sink and a stone oil vat – now used as the dining table. There's also a separate kitchen and two good-sized double bedrooms, one of which has gorgeous bay views. If you don't fancy jumping in the car, you could easily while away your days here just drinking in the peace and quiet. And when you want to stretch your legs, pad down to the jetty for a swim, stroll to the nearby pebble beach or snake your way along the shores to one of the enticing local eateries. Life doesn't get any better than this.
