An introduction to Rabac

With its collection of pebbly beaches, warm crystal waters and a long promenade winding around an indented bay, Rabac is the best known holiday spot on Istria's eastern coast. Centred around a picturesque old village and harbour, the town has been increasing in popularity with visitors since the mid 19th century, attracted by the wonderfully clear seas of its coves and hideaway inlets. This former fishing village has all the attractions one would expect of a seaside resort, including numerous cafes, bars and restaurants, and the nearby hilltop town of Labin offers numerous folklore concerts and events throughout the summer months. The resort is very peaceful at the beginning and end of the season, however, in high summer it comes alive with its very popular local festivals.

I spent a week in Rabac and it was wonderful. Stayed at the Hotel Amfora which was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and the food was superb, you'll never go hungry at the Amfora.
