An introduction to Hotel & Villa Ambasador

Sitting on a concrete terrace beach in the heart of lively Opatija, the Ambasador Hotel couldn’t be in a better spot. Not only is it just footsteps away from the Adriatic Sea, but it looks out over Opatija’s 13-kilometre-long promenade, too, which is packed full of shops, restaurants and bars.

The hotel’s grounds, though, have a much quieter vibe to them. An oasis of trees, lawns and colourful blooms, they whisper tranquillity. Tucked between all the greenery is a large, raised swimming pool which offers up great views of the sea. The pool area has a snack bar, too, and a spacious terrace, dotted with sunbeds and umbrellas.

Talking of pools, there’s also one inside. It’s part of the hotel’s Spa and Wellbeing Centre, which includes a sauna and a gym. The spa offers the A to Z of treatments, including massages and acupuncture treatments, and there’s a beauty parlour and hair salon which specialise in luxury hair, skin and body treatments.

On the dining front, meanwhile, the hotel has got two restaurants. The Ambasador serves up a buffet of local and international dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the outside Hortenzia lets you dine al fresco during the summer. There’s a Croatian night once a week, too, featuring national cuisine and entertainment.

When it comes to the bedrooms here, think simplicity and comfort. They’ve got a very summery feel to them too, thanks to bright blue and yellow soft furnishings. What’s more, all rooms come with satellite TVs and air-conditioning.
