Cavtat is already something special. But add the Epidaurus to the picture and you're really in for a unique escape. Sitting slap bang on the shores of Tahia Bay, it has a to-die-for setting. Backed by wooded hillsides and looking out onto crystal-clear seas, if you can't relax here, you'll be hard pushed to be anywhere else. Delightfully serene, the hotel is just a 20 minute walk from the heart of Cavtat itself with its waterfront shops and pavement cafes. And just a ten minute stroll takes you to the local bars and restaurants. You couldn't ask for a more perfect spot. The Epidaurus itself sits in gorgeous grounds with cushiony-green trees and swishing palms peppered about. And the star attraction and hub of activity is the picturesque pool area. Square-shaped at one end and round at the other, it's surrounded by grassy areas and patios with plenty of sun beds and parasols to hand. And what's more, it looks out over the turquoise waters that twinkle in the sunlight. If you'd rather get a little more active though, there's plenty to do here. Many head for the milk-pond waters for diving, water-skiing and windsurfing. Or if you want to stay on dry land take your pick from table tennis, volleyball and bowls. There's also nine clay tennis courts at the neighbouring hotel Iberostar Albatros and a tennis school is also here if you fancy a few lessons. Younger holiday makers aren't left out here either. A children's playground and a kids' club for 4 to 12 year olds should keep them more than happy. After dark, the ambience remains laid-back and quiet. Take a seat in the contemporary restaurant and enjoy a slap up meal from the mountains of delicacies at the buffet. Then settle down on the terrace and enjoy the evening entertainment under a starlit sky. It doesn't get any better than this.
