Valamar Crystal

The family-friendly Valamar Crystal counts a close-to-it-all setting, a relaxing pool set-up, and lots of things to do as highlights.

This place has clinched a seafront spot in a pine forest clearing. You can walk to the ragged shoreline in a few minutes, and the Roman town of Porec is just a bit further on.

The hotel is well geared up for families, with lots of activities and separate pools for children and adults. Décor is cool and contemporary – rooms come with beech furniture and brightly painted feature walls.

Extraordinary service

We spent an extraordinary weekend. We came with our baby and from the first minute we entered the hotel, everyone was so polite and kind. The young guy on the reception (who also has a baby daughter) was very patient with all our special wishes. In the restaurant everyone was so kind, specially Mr. Branko. The room was nice and clean. The balcony size is approprate. The food for breakfast and supper was tasty. But the stuff was so friendly that we felt so special. More

Molibden42,

Fantastic hotel!

Visited this hotel with a group of 160 (choir tour) in early April and can't fault it. Despite being part of such a large group, the check-in was friendly and efficient. The buffet-style restaurant served every type of food you could possibly want (including catering for allergies) and the bar and restaurant staff were so polite and friendly and couldn't do enough to help you. They were rather short-staffed in the bar to cater for such a large group, however the staff worked their socks off! The hotel has a large bar area which had live music on some nights, and there were two decent lifts to the rooms. Our double room was spacious and clean with a large balcony overlooking the gardens (not all rooms have this). As it was early season the outdoor pool wasn't open, and I didn't use the indoor one so can't comment on that. Lovely 20 minute walk along the water's edge into Porec town. Great place and wouldn't hesitate to go back.More

Beginning of season

Lovely friendly staff, clean and comfortable we had a problem with the wifi in our room but was sorted within seconds I'll definitely be booking again 😊 the old town is 15 to 20 mins walk away wish we had another week out there to explore further around croatia well impressed with the grounds of the 3 hotels together well worth the money More

Andy B,

Lovely location , out of season, food and staff excellent.

Just returned from a group trip to the Valamar Crystal, In early April not much in the resort is open and the hotel grounds were a bit run down and tired looking. I was sharing with 2 friends, we had room 207 which was very spacious for a triple. The room was very clean but the towels were small and harsh. The shower is in the bath which is quite high and some people might find this difficult to get in and out of, there are no hand rails. There was plentiful hot water in the evenings but it didn't seem to be switched on until 6 am. The balcony overlooks the back garden, some rooms do look over the carparks. The breakfast buffet and dinner buffets were excellent and plentiful, freshly cooked eggs to order, in the evening fish likewise. The layout of the restaurant is well thought out so that even when 150 of our group were eating at the same time there was not much congestion. All the restaurant staff speak a little English and smile and are helpful.. Dirty plates were cleared discreetly and efficiently. At the time I stayed the bar had only 2 staff working and they were amazing especially the girl who worked tirelessly for hours to serve us. The hotel also provided live music in the evening this varied in quality. The trio on Saturday night were brilliant, keeping us all dancing. The bed rooms require a key card , the hotel were very happy to let us have one each. This hotel is trying hard but I'm not sure at this time of year it really is four stars. The design of the hotel and the others in the resort is quite dated and the buildings in the grounds looked very old. The wifi only worked in the public areas, There is no tea and coffee facilities in the bedroom. the mini bar is sealed with a note saying you cannot use the fridge for your own things. The hotel is about 15 to 20 minutes walk along an attractive path amongst pine trees to Porec town with the sea on the side. There are no beaches. At the time we visited the pool was empty. One thing to be aware of, there are Scops Owls in the grounds, their call is a metallic "ping" on a very regular basis and surprisingly loud. You may wan't to take ear plugs. This hotel is part of a huge chain and Porec seems to be completely owned by Valamar. This is an Austrian owned company , it is a shame that Croatia does not directly benefit from the resorts.More
