Very Nice Hotel and great location
Stayed here with large group of family inc a 9 year old and 1 year old and grandma... and we all loved it here. Would definitely recommend and would go back. The hotel itself is really nice, always really clean and maintained well. Our family room was a decent size for us 3 and the sea view was perfect. The staff are all friendly and helpful, the bars are nice, the 3 restaurants are really nice with lots of choice on the buffet of good food, both the swimming pools are great - good size with good shallow area for the little ones to play too. The location of the hotel is brilliant - right next to the beach. You can walk straight out of the gate onto the beach, so it's easy to come back for lunch, drinks etc too. The area the hotel is in in sunny beach is good - not right in the middle of the noisy, busy strip but really close to walk to if you want (just 5-10 min away and you're in the middle of it all) and close to everything you need all the shops, restaurants and beach etc. Only slight thing to let it down is the hotel entertainment it wasn't too great not much going on in that department. But the rest of it far outweighs that and I defo recommend this place. More
Great Family Holiday
Hotel Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff were always friendly. Hotel is situated very close to the beach. Pools are well maintained. Buffet restaurant was good, always food for everyone in our party of 8, ages ranged from 6 years to 55 years with 3 teenagers! Visited the Bulgarian restaurant twice, first time food was excellent, second time it was totally rubbish!!! Went to Asian once which was pretty average - both Bulgarian and Asian are also buffet restaurants. Animation Team nice people but were totally useless at their job but still rattled a "tip" box at the end of any evening entertainment (if you can call it entertainment)!!!!. The little evening entertainment that was provided was extremely poor, especially for a Riu Hotel.More
Rui Helios Bulgaria - must visit.
The hotel is maintained well with the Maids cleaning the rooms on a daily basis. The bar staff and the waiters waitresses are very good very helpful if they can speak English. Overall the hotel is very clean the food seems to be same old same old everyday but still is good quality plenty of salads plenty of other varieties to eat.For vegetarians the option would be a salad however they will always find something to eat as there is fish or eggs or one vegitable item. In the morning breakfast it's a buffet and there is no separate egg Centre where you can have whatever type of eggs you want this is something that I would recommend the hotel take up. Lunch is served in the main restaurant and then after in the snack bar, evening dinner is also served in the two places. The hotel rooms are nice size like a big L shape. The bathroom is large in size and is nice, the power shower is one of the best ones I have used. Rui supply shower gel and shampoo, soaps and towels. A couple of points they do make you pay for kettles iron ironing board but that's a deposit which you get back when you take it back there is a charge for the safe which really is unacceptable it should be Incorporated but it's a way of making Quick Cash. The amenities around the hotel a very good there are two large pools, and can have a lot of children in one and the other a little bit of a mix but it's quieter but near the beach. The beaches is around about a minute walk across from the hotel and is accessable any time. Pool towels are provided. The beach is a 7 mile long beach with golden sands, was always crowded when we went which is the full stretch but neverthless worth a visit. There are 3 restaurants the main restaurant which is buffet the snack restaurant which is also buffet and an Asian restaurant which is also buffet however some of these restaurants don't have very good choice for vegetarians or vegans. the hotel has two bar areas the barsalon which is open in the evening and the pool bar which is accessable most of the day. The hotel does have a massage parlour, a well equipped gym, jacuzzi, steam and sauna. the massages are good so well worth a visit, the package we went for was 100 lev which is £50 for two hours package, well worth it. The hotel has many shops and restaurants in the location. The main shopping strip is 15 to 20 mins walk away. There is a variety of clothing, shoes, bikini shops, sex shops and strip clubs in most corners, loads of bars and eateries. fun fair for adults and little ones. bus stop is 5 mins away to go to any location and is very cheap, to go to Nessiebar will cost £1.25, to go to bourgaus it will cost £3.00 cheaper than the taxis who would charge £25 one way.More
Great holiday! See you in 2018
Been there for 12 nights in July 2017 and had a great time. Hotel was very very clean, big room with sea view (4190), not as noisy as expected. Rafy the housekeeper did a very great job, hoovering the room every day and changing sheets every 3 days, while amusing our kid and being polite at all times. The food was excellent every time. Various dishes, for all tastes, deliciously prepared on spot by 4 chefs. Lots of fruits and sweets, including chocolate fountain once a week. There were 3 reataurants, the main, the Bulgarian and the Asian (you had to reserve the latter one day in advance). Very polite waiters, always careful to smile and to clean the dish you just finished. Food always fresh, although sometimes was too much pork and less beef or chicken. But cannot complain, as I always managed to feed our kid with something else than pork. Ah, the breakfast coffee sucked. Poor black coffee or instant one. No espresso anywhere. But cannot complain. The bar/drinks - well, local drinks, not the best (e.g the beer), could have been extended to intl dribks as well. At least some. E.g the beer is a local one (slavena) which is rather light, and there was no intl variant available, not even paid. Also, very important having in mind the amounts of children in the hotel - no fresh juices available, not even paid. But I guess water was ok for kids if you wanted them away from the cheap sparkling copies of the famous intl brands. But the wines were great, eapecially the white ones. The pools - two perfect pools with nice and perfectly clean water, many sun beds around and perfectly clean - guys were cleaning everything at 6am with automated washing machines. Also pool was somehow hoovered and its walls wiped every day. Lots of perfectly maintained grass around everywhere, and also some natural shading as well for hot summer days. Animation - I can only say they struggled a lot. But they need professional team for this. A bunch of kids in their 20s that were also used to clean the pools amd surroundings in the morning. This is a black one for the mgmt - let them do animation only! Every night you could see how tired they were trying to make dance sessions, karaoke, contests and others. The surroundings - clean and well maintained, not very close to the crowded and nosy strip, the beach very clean, the water just perfect. Although sun beds were a bit expensive (10 levs) - but this is not hotel's fault anyway. Overall a perfect family vacation, despite the small to-be-improved things. We'll be there next year as well, so don't lower your standards! More
FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE, WARM WELCOMING, DEF VISIT AGAIN
spotless hotel, reception were very polite and welcoming, couldn't fault the food there was plenty of choice. The hotel backs onto a stunning beach with warm water and pure white sand, even the pools warmed up nicely around mid day which was very welcoming in the red hot sun. 2 points to be aware off - if visiting nessebar by the little blue train please be aware, it stops half way and you have to change trains, you have to pay again to take you the other half of the journey, again the same on the return back to sunny beach, you would be better off getting the bus or a taxi. If you hire an electric scooter which are dotted along the promenade (very good fun) you may be stopped by an official looking local (possibly with a few heavies) it is a scam targeted at tourists where they pull you too one side and demand £100 lev or they will find your hotel, wont let you past etc... be aware of this as could be quite intimidating, luckily I saw someone had already mentioned this on trip advisor so was aware and told my family do not stop carry on driving! Apart from the 2 points above it was a fantastic holiday which I would recommendMore
